It's a Punk Rock themed Japanese (mostly) gluten-free restaurant that specializes in fried chicken (get the fried chicken, trust me). If that description doesn't entice you, you're probably not cool enough for this place anyway. Basically only thing that isn't gluten-free are some of the beer options (there are gluten-free options too)-great for me as my wife has the allergy and I like gluten in my beer. Glad we stumbled across this place.

Delicious food all around, couldn’t recommend it more! Very good prices, the waiters were kind and attentive, and service was fast. I loved the gluten free spring rolls with peanut dipping sauce and imperial rolls and will now come back here forever.
So glad I finally came by today for a late lunch (2PM) - cool place (love the decor/style), nice staff & tasty food. Some dishes you will not find in the average Thai restaurant in the Bay Area. For example, the chef or owner is from northern Thailand so the menu features a top Northern Thai dish - Kao Soi noodle soup (beef or chicken), or the all time fav 'street food' grilled pork skewers (moo ping) served with sticky rice (ck out the menu on their website).
I had the Pad Kemao Chicken (menu says beef but they are happy to make dishes with what you like & even have Beyond Meat dishes on the menu - cool to see stir fried basil with Beyond Meat (Krapao Beyond Neur). The taste of my wok fried pad kemao was delicious, same or better than any I've had on prior trips to Bangkok. Glad to have discovered a solid Thai restaurant that doesn't have watered down flavors (adapted for non-Thais). Good to see they have a lot of gluten free and vegan choices on the menu too. Definitely will be back, keep up the good work!
Great gluten-free options that don’t sacrifice flavor. Everything was fresh and food cooked with wok was nicely charred. Soup was flavorful. Service was attentive. Definitely will be back.
Being Gluten-Free....I am challenged at restaurants. I was pleasantly surprised at the absolute flavor and taste of the food. Even my non-gluten free family loved the fried chicken. Thsnk you

Here's our experience:
Our waiter forgot to sub out the noodles in the Drunken Noodles for the gluten free option. My wife discussed this with him very clearly. This is a very routine beginning of the meal as my wife is deathly allergic to gluten. I think you can see where this is going... The noodles arrived, we ate them. They were fine. And then you remember they were $27. Ouch.
The waiter, who was hard to flag down to order, and then later to get the check, was oddly chatty with us as we were gathering our things. All of this made sense 15 minutes later when my wife starting to get very sick. We looked at the photos online and realized he forgot to sub the noodles.
We called when they re-opened and my wife was completely gaslit. "I need to talk to the waiter before I refund anything". "He says you never discussed your allergy". "I can only refund the noodles, not the Massaman Curry". "We can't refund the tip".
My wife was sick for two weeks. She threw up, she lay in bed for 24 hours. We 100% would have forgiven everything had they just owned up to the mistake!! Who cares about $70!! That wasn't even the point.
This place is silly. The vibes stink, the service is distant and and incompetent (your one job is to not poison the guests, right?). The prices are cuckoo. ($6 for a Topo Chico) The food in fine. We can do better.
As this poor country is getting kneecapped by psychopaths and grifters, you search out sane, empathetic communities who are trying to take care of each other.
Unfortunately, this place is extractive and predatory. AVOID.
My go to for fast, fresh food. Pick up is usually quick. At a hub that is take-out only. Have severe dairy/beef/gluten allergies and has always been safe for me.
I'm so happy with Neecha Thai! I got the vegan skewer with peanut sauce, the pumpkin curry, and jasmine rice. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the vegan options and service at Neecha Thai. Food was ready FAST. The pumpkin curry was so amazingly flavorful and the portions were massive. Even the portion of rice was big, they gave two containers for the single order. My one meal alone was definitely enough to feed two people. The veggie skewers with peanut sauce were a solidly satisfying appetizer. There were a variety of tofu and wheat-gluten (seitan) protein options. I'm definitely going to be craving their food now whenever I want Thai!
Food choices and flavors galore! The staff were all so friendly and helpful. Seating options inside the cafe or outside in their courtyard. Also, dog friendly! Vegetarian and gluten free and vegan choices a plenty. This place is a must.
This is the best Thai food in the Oakland area! My friends and I came here for a lovely dinner. Between the three of us, there were so many dietary restrictions (nut allergy, gluten free, vegan). We started off with Crispy Tofu and Vegetarian Spring Rolls. We shared several dishes: Vegetable Pad See Ew, Basil Eggplant and Pumpkin Curry. The kitchen and the servers were so thoughtful of the allergy and the dietary restrictions. All the dishes were delicious! I had Thai tea and it was really good; I thought it tasted pretty authentic! Jack (the owner and chef) is so sweet; he sent the most amazing Mango Sticky Rice to our table for dessert. Will definitely continue coming back and taking my friends here for great Thai food. I highly recommend coming here; the food is delicious and the staff is so kind, thoughtful and efficient.
Held an event for 25-28 people here on a Monday night for a work event. They were great to work with in leading up to the event, very responsive. The night-of the restaurant was set up so nicely and the atmosphere was perfect for a group our size. Everyone was super impressed with the food, sake drinks and the service. The staff was very professional and friendly. The food was amazing and bountiful! We were all so stuffed - and the food kept coming! The Hamachi Shooters were a fan favorite. And there were enough options for our vegetarian and gluten-free friends. Definitely recommend for future events and just dinner in general.
Really delicious with friendly staff! We saw a lot of people getting the hotpot but didn’t get it because my friend is eating gluten free- it looked fresh and like big portions. Our server was able to tell my friend which banchan and dishes were safe for her to eat. I got the tteokbokki in rose cream sauce, which was huge and rich tasting with bacon.
