I have a gluten allergy ( celiac ), and I had my first Szechuan chicken ever delivered on a whim for my birthday dinner.
Of course, that is a crazy thing to do with my allergy, but I read the overwhelmingly positive reviews from others like me and decided to give it a try.
I cannot explain to you how much this food just changed my life. Not only am I not sick, but my tastebuds have actually been enlightened.
Obsessed is an understatement. Thank you so much ๐๐ผ
I have been coming to this Pei Wei since I was a child! The food has always been fresh and the service always efficient and very friendly. I get the honey seared chicken and they are always sweet about accommodating the potato starch option for my mother with a sensitivity (they have gluten free soy sauce upon request as well). Shout out to Christopher for being so kind at the front! Will always be back ๐
We had the pleasure of dinning in this afternoon. Where we were wonderfully greeted by Samira. From arrival and departure she was very courteous, going above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and making sure all of our food was enjoyable. We also came for the gluten free options because my daughter has celiac disease, she was very mindful and informative of the options for her! Samira even made sure that the kitchen followed all safety precautions while preparing the gluten free items. We appreciated the hospitality and great food!
This is one of my favorite restaurants in San Antonio! The ambiance is fabulous and the food is incredibly delicious. When people are visiting, I bring them here because it feels elevated and unique. I love the boba cocktails and gluten free options. There's something for everyone! The noodles are a top favorite, but it's good to go with others so you can share and try different things. It's a perfect place for a date or celebration. Make sure to support this spot so it stays for a long time!
Great gluten free options. Mark was very friendly and helpful. He made sure we had everything we needed including gluten free soy sauce. Food tasted great.
Shout out to our server April! She was super attentive, got us refills before I could ask, and made sure my Gluten Free bestie got accommodated safely!
We used to love this place, back when all the sauces were gluten free. Sadly, that's no longer the case. Only 3 sauces are gluten free now despite the big metal sign that says all are gluten free. Apparently, they made the change a while back but didn't update the metal sign over the sauces, only the table to advert. It doesn't help that if you google search nutrition, it pulls up the old allergen info. You have to go to the website directly and look for the new one. The waiter was nice and I tried my hardest to impress upon the manager the importance of not having misleading signage in the facility due to people with allergies and autoimmune issues. Good bye HuHot. I'll miss the good times.
Nice atmosphere, great food, I have celiac and the Pho was gluten-free and very good a small bowl is filling and great taste. Prepared fresh so it takes a little time to receive the order.
The food was great and they were very accommodating for my Gluten allergies. The service was somewhat slow, as it took 20 minutes to get our check and it wasn't all that busy. However, the food more than made up for that. Try the Tater Tot Chaat!
The service was great! The wait staff was very attentive to our family of 3, including a child. The waitress was able to give us vegan and gluten free recommendations for our family. I was so happy that they had gluten free soy sauce as most places do not. We ordered vegetarian sushi rolls, which had a mix of seaweed salad, zuchini, carrots, and asparagus. They were tasty! If you are vegan, make sure to ask for no fried veggies, as they usually have egg battered items in the vegetarian sushi. My son and husband who do not eat gf, had a noodle dish that they enjoyed. We also had cucumber salad and an avocado/cucumber roll. Those were good as well. Overall, I was satisfied with the food and the service.
This has always been one of my favorite sushi spots in SA. The fish is fresh and they can make anything gluten free. The Duncan roll, fried rice and spicy edamame are my favorites.

Loved this funky modern place for sushi! The waitress recommended the Bullet Roll, and my review is 100% based on that. It was out of this world. We also had a bento box and spicy tuna roll which were definitely alright, nothing disappointing, but I will be coming back and ordering two Bullet Rolls for myself asap.
The waitress and chef were also willing to adjust the Bento box for my husbands shell fish allergy so that was a huge plus for us as well!
Also, they brought out my own gluten free soy sauce! Didnโt need it for the speciality rolls but was great for my spicy tuna roll.
Missing one star on atmosphere just because there were many free tables when we went but they all had dirty dishes on them. Not a huge problem though, I know how busy restaurants can get! I also was confused by the kimchi salad: I was expecting Korean/fermented kimchi and I don't think this was fermented. It seemed like it was cabbage doused in a sauce with red pepper flakes, served on top of lettuce? Besides it being different than what I expected, it was not yummy.
The rest of the atmosphere is pretty cool though, kinda a college student feel, very chill but not too quiet. The food was BOMB tonight, honestly. I've been here a couple other times but they seem to have improved quality-wise. This is also one of the few places in San Antonio that offers rice noodles for your ramen, i.e. a great gluten free option! There's a lot of other customizable things for the ramen and poke and other dishes. Seems like there's something for everyone here ๐
2023 review! We just came and had an excellent experience. They have a separate gluten free menu and our waiter checked with the chef multiple times to make sure we had a safe meal we ordered a few spicy rolls and a Philly roll but the winner was the Tropical roll!! My god it was so good! Overall a great meal and no sickness as long as you advocate for yourself they were great! My one complaint is that the restaurant smells absolutely awful like puke ๐คข.
It was my first time visiting and I had an amazing experience. Rin was our server and she was very kind and attentive about my gluten allergy. The service was great and the food was delicious as well. I highly recommend coming here!
I really like the place!
We've gone a couple times and haven't been disappointed by the food.
However, the person who was taking our order was very hard to understand and we had to ask many times for them to repeat themselves. I want to say they are not very confident because of having an accent, but I would have understood them better if they spoke up.
The atmosphere is chill but it's always a bit hot/stuffy in there.
I can't say it's fully gluten free because they use things like soy sauce but it's gluten free friendly, and dairy free friendly. Good options for people who are ok with cross contamination.

Very good food! Manager was very nice helping my wife with gluten free menu! I had spicy Korean barbecue beef! It was very good employees were super nice as well!!
pros:
- fantastic food
- excellent service
- short waiting time (depending on dish, of course - if the wait time isnโt short, itโs perfectly reasonable!)
- clean bathrooms
- servers are conscientious of (or, at the very least, understanding and willing to cooperate with) allergies, including gluten
cons:
- they run out of sesame balls too quickly >:( [this is light-hearted, iโm saying their sesame balls are very good :)]
recommend! The gluten is good and the soup base is rich in flavor. The meat buns are generous and the three delicacies pot stickers are also delicious.
This is one of the best Korean spots in San Antonio. The customer service is amazing! The layout reminds me of restaurants in Korea. The chicken and pork bulgolgi are safe for people with gluten allergies. Everything else has soy sauce in it, so be careful if you are in the gluten-free club.
INCREDIBLE experience!!! From when I called to see the wait time, to when we were leaving. Just in awe! When we called the hostess she was very warm and friendly and accommodated us. We sat right in front of the chefs making the nigiri and it was so fun. Drew was our waiter and he made our experience awesome. He was very knowledgeable and gave his recommendations and they were 100! The sushi is the most fresh and best tasting sushi we have ever had. The atmosphere is chill and calm. Very clean. Modern and sophisticated. My husband is gluten free and Drew went out of his way to accommodate and present options that were safe for him. Hands down recommend 1000%! We will definitely be back! Iโm sorry my photos arenโt the best. We were so anxious to eat.
Delicious food that gets to you quickly. The atmosphere is really chill. The only thing I didn't like was how small their seating area is, and how full of people it was. There were people standing in line waiting for a table to open up. They were very close to me, where I was sitting. They do have rice noodles, for people with gluten allergies. Their Guava Lava drink is delicious!
The food is good. The staff is nice but confused at times. Trying to find gluten free options for my daughter was painful, but they tried. This is a burger joint that was converted to a Ramen place. Nothing special, but the food was really good.
3/10/25 The food was fresh and delicious. The gentleman who took my order was knowledgeable regarding the gluten ingredients and he helped me navigate the gluten-free options on the menu. The kitchen staff made my meal fresh and it was delicious. I ordered the kung pao shrimp with salad. I had a great experience. 10/10
UPDATE 3/11/25 - went for another round and it was just as delicious as before. Dihia was very helpful in taking my order and checking in to make sure everything was good. The staff were very prompt in bringing my food, and it was fresh and made to order. Several members of the staff checked up on me to make sure all elements of my order were done well. Amazing food and hospitality.

Excellent service and food! This food definitely has a nice kick. I appreciate the option of making multiple dishes gluten free - the waitress was very knowledgeable about this! We ordered orange chicken and chicken fried rice. We will be back!
