We got a gluten free Ferrero Rocher cake for my friends birthday and it was amazing! A crowd fave for both the gluten free and gluten eaters! Will definitely be back for more cakes in the future (or maybe to try one of their meat pies!)
Great place to eat. Gluten-free options are available, and i always go for the duck salad and rice. I look forward to going to this place here and there!
I can remember dining at the various 'Pancakes' restaurants since the original opened in the 1980s in Sydney ...and it's wonderful knowing that I can stop nearby at Northmead to enjoy some of my classic favorites that they still list on their menu. The dishes are freshly prepared and I never have to wait long for them to be delivered to our table. The presentations and consistency is excellent. I've recently stopped here to meet friends for lunch or to enjoy a dinner. The food is delicious, their pancakes taste as good as they did decades ago and their menu is still somewhat varied with gluten-free options available. They also serve crepes, ribs, chicken schnitzel, fish, beef brisket and salads. I find their pricing extremely reasonable. You can stop by for a meetup with friends, there's an all-day breakfast menu and you can snack over coffee or indulge yourself with the varied alternatives on the full menu.
The restaurant has embraced the recent trend of QR-Code activated menus and prepaying methods that have arrived on the scene in recent years. But I guess that this also speeds up the order process and keep the prices reasonable. The friendly staff at Pancakes On The Rocks at Northmead are only too happy to assist with additional requirements. The restaurant is clean, the menu is appealing and the staff are polite and helpful. I can't ask for more than that! Looking forward to returning.
Great restaurant/cafe serving up an incredible assortment of desserts alongside vegan, vegetarian and gluten free meal options.
MENU: Salads, pizzas, pasta, burgers etc. All of which can be be gluten free. They even switched couscous in the grilled salmon dish, with quinoa.
STAFF: Really lovely, friendly and efficient crew of people.
ACCESSIBILITY: Wheelchair, pram (dogs outside ok), walker suitable, with no stairs... The only caveat is that the closest toiket is 50mtrs or so away in Hungry Jacks (also wheelchair accessible though).
Ample free parking available in the car park right out the front.
INTERIOR: Gorgeous warm timber industrial meets a bit Hamptons like. Only note: in Winter, it is FREEZING (concrete floors, high ceilings). We left early due to it and overheard one couple come in and then leave, commenting that it was too cold to eat there... So go prepared!
