For a 5 star hotel buffet restaurant, Epicurean didn’t deliver to our expectations..
Atmosphere : A big restaurant and too many dining tables to the proportion of the few main food stations on offer. This means long queues for the foods, it feels like overcrowded food hall.
We regret and wish have spent our money in an exclusive fine dining experience, and would have satisfied.
Foods: Oysters were a disappointment, worst we have tasted, creamy texture indicates it was frozen previously, we expect fresh seafoods. Sashimi salmon was okay, but not sure of the other fish sashimi. Good selection of deserts.
Most five star restaurant buffet would include soft drinks,( not this one), for $130/ head you expect they would give a little. some better buffet resto provides labelling of food (nuts allergy, gluten free etc), the chef came out and points to what were okay to eat for my son who has nut allergy.
Epicurean is overrated.
We have previously been to Blasto’s before they moved to bigger premises and loved it! We had booked a table and didn’t realise that they had moved. We were not the only ones that had gone to the old address. We eventually found where they had moved to further down Goodwood Parade. We found our table which was high one. Great for having drinks on but not for a meal. Another downside was our table was in a walkway so it made it very noisy. We were told that we could order on the app or go up to the bar and order via the menu. We thought that it would be quicker to order from the app as the queue at the bar was long and busy. It turns out you can order everything but a cocktail on the app! We couldn’t get our order to go through on the app so had to queue up at the bar which wasn’t ideal. I am gluten free and didn’t feel
That the new menu had much variety for me. They have a great beer garden and a playground for the kids. Dogs are also welcome outside.

Food quality has dropped since al our years of previous experience.
The omakaze menu ($180) is no where near as good a value as used to be. No extras, no palate cleansers. Allergens can’t as easily be catered for on all menus like they used to be able to (shellfish and gluten allergies). Only second restaurant we have ever been to fine dining wise where this was the case, so you can’t do the more expensive Omakaze if you have issues.
Food was still nice but not the polish or technique of previous years. Miso Cod was over baked and not normal melt in mouth.
Still had a great night. Cocktails and wines list excellent.
Best foods were the desserts and for someone who isn’t a dessert lover they were brilliant. Head pastry chef with the $180 Omakaze did produce a magnificent GF lava cake and the cheesecake was a revelation. Hats off to the pastry chef.
I have recently discovered Don Massimo after hunting down competitive prices for my alternative milks for home. Despite having passed the store regularly when it was Recharge I never took much notice, but a rebranding and refresh has given it a new and bold street presence. All staff are friendly and oh boy the gluten free bagels are delicious. I like to peruse their retail section while I wait for my order, though I’m never waiting long… which is a good thing as I would be too tempted to buy more. A friendly venue with staple café offerings and good service.
I ordered catering for a birthday function and Three B's were very accommodating. They cater for gluten-free and special requests. The food was delicious and I highly recommend Three B's for any functions or catering. It is worth visiting this hidden gem in Burswood.
No Gluten friendly meal options listed on the menu. Many people need these type of meals for health reasons such as Coeliacs for them it is not just a lifestyle choice. An establishment of this calibre should be able to cater for this.
My friends and I had a really good time at Fox Friday for lunch today. We have wanted to try for months and now that it’s open we had to go! The food menu was so unique- the flatbreads and burgers tasted incredible and fresh! It was nice to see there were some gluten free and veggie options for our friend. Lots of choice in craft beers- I don’t usually like beer, but I tasted a couple of my partner’s ones and they were really good! The staff were attentive, helpful and friendly, always keeping busy. It was a nice, chill place to hang out and meet with our friends and then play a game of shuffleboard earlier too. Will definitely come again!
