We went here to celebrate our daughter's 16th birthday. We chose Summer House because it has great gluten free options. The week prior my daughter ate several times at the location in Florida at Disney Springs and loved it! Really liked the décor and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Unfortunately you can not eat the atmosphere. We had several issues that just really killed the experience for us. First issue was the order the food was served. We received all of our entrees appetizers and salads at the same time. It makes me upset that I spent what I feel is good money to have to race through an appetizer and then decide if I want a warm salad or a cold entrée. Not to mention just not comfortable with three plates in front of you and other guests. I asked the waiter why all three courses were brought out at the same time and he indicated that he did not know. The restaurant was not too busy so I really don't understand what happened here. The 2nd issue we had was with the main order. I ordered what was presented on the menu as a Grouper fish in chip in a malt vinegar with fries. I found out after I ordered that the menu was wrong and that sometimes corporate messes up when items are not available on the west coast (California style restaurant with items only available on the East Coast). The Grouper I wanted was substituted out for rock fish. Not a huge deal but not really what I ordered. The 3rd concern i had was another timing issue. We informed the staff that we were celebrating a birthday and it was great that they sent out a complimentary desert however we received that dessert before other guests were able to order off the dessert menu. At this point we sent it back and asked if we can get all our guest desert at the same time so we could properly celebrate. Our waiter was very nice however the presentation felt kind of rehearsed and not genuine. In my opinion it felt like he was over trained to spit out a well rehearsed presentation. We had three orders of the miso salmon and it was cooked perfectly. The salad was great. The fried chicken was average. Everyone loved the brownies. The lemon cake was perfect. GF pizza is good! Gluten free dessert is very limited. Wine selection is poor for a California themed restaurant. Menu prices are as up and down as our experience. Some items are priced really well other items like the Grouper that isn't fish and chips are high. Really felt like a restaurant that just is not quite firing on all levels yet. Maybe with time this can be as good as the Summer House we enjoyed at Disney!
