Be love is quite literally the best restaurant we've ever dined at. We've been several times now and have never been disappointed. The quality and portions are consistent, flavors are unbelievable. Everything is so fresh, you can really feel the love poured into every dish. A dream spot for anyone who is vegan and/or gluten free but ive also dined there with friends who are neither who have said it's the best food they've had. Keep doing what you're doing, its magic! ❤️🌷🙏
The beer was good. The service was good. Unfortunately the food was not good. We came for the gluten free fish and chips. They were heavily deep fried and over cooked with a tiny thin layer of fish. Worst fish ever. The calamari was good and fried well so why was the fish over done? They did remove the charge but dinner was a disappointment.
Had dinner with My best friend and my mother last night. Shalena’s service was exceptional. My mum has food issues that can be a challenge. Shalena could not have been more accommodating.
Mum often avoids going for dinner due to her FOD diet
Mum was so happy to be so well taken care. Thank you for the exceptional service.
They have a special deep fryers to accommodate people who are celiac and willing to adjust a dish to suit my mums food challenges.
Cheers
Great celiac safe barbecue place! Everything is GF except waffles and regular buns, but they take precautions to keep celiac customers safe (changing gloves, etc). They have fantastic fried chicken which is GF, fried only with fries (also GF), and the regular bbq things. Great sandwiches, poutine, and fried chicken!
Il Covo is a new Victoria fave for me! The garden patio is beautiful and the whole place has a lovely atmosphere. Morgana, our server, was amazing and the food was excellent. Our group was looking for some vegan and gluten free options and she was so knowledgable and made great recommendations for everyone! We will be back for sure :)
We needed gluten free and we were very happy to know that they have a dedicated gluten free menu and they use a dedicated gluten free fryer for their food. It can be really hard to find a lot of places like this, but this is by far my favourite place to eat in Victoria! I really want to thank everyone there who made it very easy to find safe food for us.
While it was great they had gluten free waffle options, you only get 1 Belgium waffle and if you’re hungry, it won’t be enough. An order of thick cut bacon on the side helped fill the void. Oat milk for our coffees was nice, and the coffee cup sizes are kind of small given the $5 charge. Overall, it was decent - it was a breakfast start to a busy morning - but we’d likely go elsewhere for more value and larger portions.
Paid 16 dollars (as I gave 2 dollar tip) for some good tasting chicken soup. I was disappointed to see there were only like 3 tiny pieces of chicken in the soup. Also for folks who don’t want bread, maybe provide a gluten free option or reduce the overall price of the meal. The servers were very kind and the soup tasted good but for the price point not so much!
Lovely, charming locally owned cafe with excellent sandwiches. Not the place if you are in a hurry - the owner makes everything herself, and it’s delicious. I loved my gluten free sandwich - not dry at all like most places - and my spouse loved his. Great place to sit on the patio and enjoy Langford.
This is a great little grocery store. Good deals on the necessities and some specialty items. Their made to order sandwiches are very good and I love that they have a gluten free option.
Poor option for gluten free, the 2$ extra for bread only gets you costco bread that costs $9 for 2 loaves. Small slices so makes for a pretty expensive $18 sandwich with not much on it. Pretty middling otherwise but would definitely not recommend for gluten free.

I lived across the street for three years. It's expensive, but it's a boutique grocery store. Although they had the deal on dark chocolate almonds.
Now when I first moved there, they carried a line of "Bob's" flour, but not his gluten free pizza mix. I asked and they started carrying his pizza mix. 🎊. They still do.
Everything looks so yummy it's hard to chose! Prices can seem a tad high for some sweet baked goods but when you know they used good ingredients and things are so fresh it's worth the little extra! Definately recommend the cinnamon buns and any of the dessert bars. Only downside I would say is no gluten-free options.
Great salads and good prices. It's hard to find a good salad on the go and this is my go to across Canada. I've been to 8 franchises in 5 provinces this past month. Great for celiacs too! I usually dine in when on the road but why is the music so loud? Yes I'm older...not 18 anymore but I like a bit of peace while eating or trying to talk while dining. Other than that great little spot.
Simple and delicious! Sandwiches are a great size, the tomato Basil soup is wonderful!
Veggie options, gluten free bread available
Soups of the day change daily, with a calendar posted for the month ahead!
There are also salads and cookies
Simple interior
Delicious breakfast food from a food truck permanently stationed in Cook Street Village in a space with other food trucks. We've had hash twice and it's AMAZING. I'd like to try the smoothie bowls. Good gluten free and vegetarian options. Staff are friendly and funny.
This place is hidden gem! I stumbled upon it downtown today, tucked between Yates and View in an office building. The coffee is amazing, and they offer a great selection of milk alternatives, plus vegan and gluten-free pastries. The customer service was top-notch—the barista (with red/pink hair) was so friendly and engaging, which is rare these days. I’ll definitely be back!
