First time here today and I'm blown away by the food and service. 10/10 for the Gluten free, Dairy free variety of food they have. Nice, cosy and tucked away slightly outside of Havelock city center. Just returned home replete from an absolutely delicious lunch enjoyed on the verandah in balmy weather at the Birdwoods Cafe in Havelock North, Hawkes Bay. Two of us ordered the pork belly on potato rosti which was both meltingly tender inside but crisp and crunchy on the outside and two had the Birdwoods pie which were bursting with succulent beef. There was no plate envy on this occasion. Our desserts were the moist gluten free chocolate brownie, a chocolate mousse and the rhubarb cake. So so delicious because they tasted authentic as real food should.
