Gluten free, onion garlic free, vegan, basically any variety of whole food plant based meal. No added nasty stuff. Feels great while and after eating. My favorite Welly place to eat!
What a find
Food awesome lots of choice
amazing friendly and knowledgeable about menus
Gluten free options and had oat milk so all good
Would highly recommend this cafe
Ten out of Ten for me
Impeccable food and service…highly recommended. Lots of celiac and gluten free options including really good gf Bread and house made butter. Every dish was something you’d look forward to enjoying again.
Amazing staff. A real treat with separate fryer for us coeliac people. I had the hashbrown, pesto, avacado and balsamic glaze. Yuuuum!! Loved how many amazing toys there for child-friendly eating

Had an excellent gluten free fish and chips. GF batter and dedicated fryer produced a delectable, non-greasy batter-dipped fish and accompanying fries. Super helpful wait person too!
We had a fantastic brekkie here and highly recommend this wonderful spot. Great menu with several coeliac-friendly options. The staff are friendly, professional and attentive to detail. I had the hot smoked salmon eggs Benedict and loved the GF bread used as the base. I only like super-hard poached eggs and these guys cooked them perfectly. The coffee (Havana) is great and the room has a funky and relaxed vibe, with a great outlook over Lyall Bay beach and the airport. You can watch planes and ferries come and go while you relax! We got a GF lemon and blueberry cheesecake to take away for later - absolutely delicious. We will be back next time we’re in Wellington!
I had the big cook-up. It was great. I was hungry and it hit the spot. My wife is gluten, dairy, nut, egg free. She ordered the coconut salad and said it was great too. Nice view as well

The service at T Lounge is great and we enjoy that it is a little different to other restaurants.
Our dishes were beautifully flavoured, and my wife enjoyed that the waffle could be Gluten Free.
Some other guests high tea also looked very nice!
Lovely food, lovely staff, lovely atmosphere, lovely views, good quality food and great value for $. Lots of delicious Gluten Free options, their GF bread is made in-house and is delicious. Inside can get quite cosy and warm when it’s busy, sitting outside is lovely if you want to soak in the views on a clear day, there are also blankets provided to keep you warm on the cooler days. Overall great experience, super friendly staff and fab quality food. Recommend the Avo on GF bread, the Laksa, bacon and eggs on toast, and all the GF cakes haha.
Recently returned from a holiday in New Zealand and took a cable car to view the beautiful gardens and on the way back we saw this restaurant as we were so hungry and decided to try it.
I am so glad we did!!!
I ordered the scotch fillett and asked for it to be gluten free with a cappuccino to be lactose free.
The waiters/waitresses are all very lovely and ever so helpful.
When the meal came out I was flabbergasted. It looked absolutely amazing. It was decorated with the most colourful and beautiful edible flowers and when I cut into it, it was like butter! The most tender and delicious steak I have ever had and it was on a stack of vegetables with roast potatoes and mushrooms.
Compliments to the Chef!
It was absolutely delightful! And the price was only $28.00 AMAZING!!! THIS REVIEW IS THE LEAST I COULD DO.
Thank you so very much for making my trip more memorable.
If I ever come back to New Zealand I will make sure I come and eat at your wonderful restaurant. Thanks again
Good coffee, best food. Always impressed by how many gluten-free & vegan options are available.
If it's cake you're after, I recommend a visit on Thursday or Sunday. Possibly my imagination but the cakes seem even better than usual!
Food here is made with love. Well thought out dishes that are layered with flavor. My only criticism is the gluten free bread from the supermarket. Not nice.
Love the atmosphere of Ombra, started off with a prosecco and the most beautifully balanced heirloom tomato salad, they have a surprising amount of gluten free options (ones that make you feel you're not missing out!) love this for me.
I am a regular gluten free customer who sits eating their very late lunch with their cousin. I like this cafe. I fly in from Christchurch and I move in to the Aro St culture. Cafes, funky Op shop where you always buy something. The Aro St cafe has the best staff.
Amazing. My favourite Wellington cafe with a few great gluten free, dairy free options.
The husband popped in for two slices of cake for my birthday and came home with this gorgeous wee lemon meringue cake.
Beautiful staff, really helpful & friendly. I've only grabbed food to go, but would love to make the time for a sit-down meal. I can recommend the cheesecake - good flavour & never too sweet. The pizza slices are very yummy & are available as single slices from the counter cabinet. They heat them for you. Today, I tried a toasted filled Foccacia & also a gluten-free brownie. Highly recommend 👌 Great hot chocolate as well.
Went here after a ceremony, food was fast and extremely good! Extensive vegetarian and gluten free options and amazing service. Had a mix up with the orders and they replaced no questions asked and at no charge- absolutely incredible service. Well worth the money!
Positive - the menu offered gluten free options and appreciated being able to eat safely as I am a celiac.
Negative - for a beautiful Wellington day with women’s expo across at TSB and a cruise ship docked, the level of staffing was not right. Service was slow, with a rushed and harassed customer experience. Had to wait to be served, seated, order taken and food to be delivered. Even asking where our food was difficult because the server clearly thought everyone else waiting meant we shouldn’t query. She said she would go check but we never saw her again. For a simple order of two bowls of fried and cheesy bread and eggs on gf toast, it shouldn’t be a 30 min wait.
Negative - our food eventually came out lukewarm. So it had been cooked but sitting somewhere waiting for a server to bring out. The chips looked amazing but barely warm. My eggs on gf toast was terrible. The gf toast was as hard as a rock and no butter on it. I feel ripped off that such a simple dish was served below average and not worth the money I spent on it.
The outdoor seating area was messy with uncleared dishes and food waste on the ground. It wasn’t a welcoming place to eat and I’d be hesitant to take my family there again.
WOW! After asking for a table for 6 and being told it would be at least 15 mins away, Zelda scurried away and made it happen much faster. As we were waiting we were reading the menu concerned the coeliac of the group wouldn’t be able to eat anything. But they other staff told us all but two meals could be accommodated for.
All 6 of us really enjoyed our food, from the chicken salad through to the porridge.
The vibes were chill, we enjoyed our catch up! Zelda was incredible and made us feel so welcome and helped us with the food allergies.
And the coeliac can confirm that their house made sourdough is delicious 🧡 as were all the rest of our meals. I want to have a jar of the marshmallow squares and the candied walnuts 🤤
Went for lunch.
I had free range eggs on toast with spinach and gluten free toast, quite pricey for it. See the picture.
Salmon was not available when we were there.
Pasta with lamb ragu was tasty and fair price.
Well located in Cuba Street, busy at lunch time.
Cakes at fair cost.
Friendly staff.
Cozy little coffee off Statehighway 1 shortly after Wellington. The coffee shares the same driveway than the plantshop. Has plenty of parking, Gluten-free options.Tasty food and coffee, friendly staff and fast service.
Certainly worth the detour and worth it, reasonable prices too.
Cheers
Great service, great food and large portions, clean restaurant and bathrooms. Good vegetarian and gluten free options. Busy but quick service and food. Would visit again.
Was a nice time, only issue is some Gluten-free items were stored under gluten containing goods, and some next to gluten containing goods with no devider, even baking paper between is a win. Make me a bit nervous to eat
The coffee was nice, not burnt
Nothing to rave about, the staff were happy and looked to be enjoying their very busy day 🙂
Very reasonably priced
We went in for Burger Wellington. Being Ceoliac i didn't have any expectation that they would offer a GF bun much less know about the importance of cross contamination.. But they did! Our server Chelsea explained that they had a dedicated fryer for the chips and could make a version of the burger completely gluten free. The bun was yummy and the meat was perfectly cooked. We moved home to NZ from the UK and miss our local pub atmosphere, they had Première league football highlights playing and our booth felt very cosy away from the Wellington winter weather. I had been here in the past and it was OK but this recent experience has me impressed. With so few options in this part of the CBD I'll be thinking of it for my next "long lunch"
Fantastic coffee. Best coffee I’ve had in a long time.
But it seems when you ask for the gluten free option, it means taking something away from the plate rather than actually having an option. So I had a lonely plate of eggs on toast with a little bit of salmon. I will say though that the salmon was delicious and the gluten free bread was top notch. But for the price, I expected a bit more to it.
We were sitting outside due to all tables undercover being taken so unfortunately much of our food got cold before it arrived at our table. Not the fault of the restaurant at all but perhaps thick-cut fries could be something to consider? They’ll retain their heat better.

I live in Tauranga and for the last 3 years I have purchased my hot cross buns for Easter from Nada bakery in Wellington because they are the best buns in the country. This year I had them couriered to me because I couldn't get down to Wellington and this service was excellent, so thank you for that. Nada bakery also have gluten free hot cross buns, if that's your thing, I get mostly fruit ones and a couple of chocolate ones just for a change. The buns are always fresh, big and full of delicious ingredients I highly recommend them and even talked a couple of friends into purchasing some. Thank you Nada bakery I will be back!!
Had the best brunch I've had in Wellington! I had the desayuno completo, (full breakfast). The chorizo and blood sausage were very high quality and delicious. I ordered gluten free toast, which is made on the premises, it's complex and completely divine! Lovely beans, salsa, fried eggs and bacon. Coffee is very good too. Lovely and helpful staff. My new Welly fave place!
Came in for Sunday brunch.
I had the avocado and tomato bagel gluten free, and my partner had the pastrami benedict.
The food took quite a while to come out. I respect that it was busy.
The gluten free option for the bagel was GF loaf, and it was good - what you’d expect for avocado on toast.
My partners pastrami benedict was tasty, but the eggs were very overdone for a poached egg (see image below).
Not a bad spot, but if you’re in a rush to get on with your busy day, I would go elsewhere. But for a solid feed on a chill day, this isn’t a bad option.
Great range of options, including lots of gluten free. Lovely being able to be outside (in the right weather) and service is prompt and thoughtful (kids food delivered first). Good coffee. Open for a good range of times, but probably best to book at peak times.
