The lady who served me was nice. The fish was tasty, just two things. Ask customers if they’re eating in or taking away, I still gave 4 stars because she offered me to sit outside for free which was nice. Also, it’s nice to offer customers salt and vinegar if they want it on, my fish was wrapped very quickly and I didn’t want to be a bother and ask her to unwrap it and season it. Other than that I think the fish is worth the price given it was made fresh to order and was actually one of the best fish I’ve had! I’ll definitely give it another try. Edit ** I appreciate your response, and want to be very clear that it was my first time attending you restaurant and I saw signs about gluten free options but nothing regarding seating stood out to me?? I was not asked if I was eating in or taking away when I arrived. And I wasn’t offered salt and vinegar. I understand that maybe you want to defend your business but please don’t gaslight me in the process.

Came here for lunch today and had the best experiance ever , the fish was cooked lovely and fresh , the chips where amazing crispy on the outside and nice and soft on the inside. My friend was gluten free and we was surprised on how many gluten free options they do . They also do gluten free ketchup , mayonnaise, tar tar sauce and vinger !!!! The service was fast and the girls was lovely making sure we get exactly what we wanted and explained everything in detail to us about the food and gluten free sauces So if you are ever in southend on sea looking for the best stop for a deliciouse fish and chips come to alfies fish and chips and you will not be dissapointed

A lovely little cafe in Leigh on sea. I am gluten free (gluten allergy - staff were knowledgeable and knew about shared fryers etc) and had lots of options without missing out on much (only change to English breakfast was to swap sausage out). A lovely atmosphere and if you have a dog it is a perfect spot! Look forward to returning in summer

Lemon Witch was an incredible experience. The staff were very kind, friendly, and helpful. Lemon Witch has a lot of choices for dietary needs like Gluten Free, Dairy Free, and Vegan. The food was absolutely delicious. The pricing was very reasonable and they even have some fun merchandise options such as stickers, pins, tote bags and t-shirts. I would highly recommend giving them a visit.

A good option for healthy food. A few options to choose but not lots of variety. Try the hot beverages, they're good. Most of the food is gluten free and the juices are really good! Highly recommend

We had a lovely meal after a long walk at the Peterboat. At first we were dubious, there were a lot of kids and this can be a red flag when it comes to quality experiences. But we were wrong, our waitress was excellent - really engaging and helpful, recommended some great dishes. And the food was pretty faultless for pub grub, everything we ate was lovely. The gluten free jam roly poly was especially good, achieved a great texture. Recommended pub for the food alone! (If you can withstand the kids!)

Grey choice of food. Amazing choice of vegan/vegetarian options are available. Nothing was too much trouble even though they were incredibly busy. For once I was made to feel completely comfortable with my mix of vegan/gluten/veggie and non vegan choices! (Oh and it was all delicious.) Will come back soon.

Delicious gluten free battered cod, so light and crispy! Took my mum here who had the same as the recommendation of the waitress, even though my mum is not gluten free, I am. Large portion too! Would definitely return! Staff super friendly too! The hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows was a nice treat to end with!

Food is okay, you get what you pay for. Many options including gluten free. It's not the food we are fussed by coming here, we go for the atmosphere! Love the jazz band and BBQs at the weekend. And of course sitting in the beautiful park after a lovely dog walk!

Went in the summer for their afternoon tea with the Under the Sea theme and it was incredible. We had multiple dietary requirements, one gluten free, one vegan, two veggie and one normal and they were all handled perfectly. Couldn’t be more impressed with the service too.

A fabulous, friendly and welcoming cafe down on Shoebury East Beach. Great atmosphere and the best staff. They even went out of their way to buy gluten free products after I enquired if this could be something they would add to their menu. I loved this little place by the sea where we had a generous colourful breakfast! We had the alternative breakfast (2 poached eggs, toast, grilled portobello mushrooms and cherry tomatoes, asparagus tips, spinach, arugula salad and feta cheese) and Scottish smoked salmon with scrambled eggs on toast (with cherry tomatoes, arugula salad and extra baked beans and portobello mushrooms). Gluten free options apply for dishes with toast. The service was impeccable and the place offered a cosy atmosphere with fantastic sea view.

We hired these amazing guys for our evening food at our festival style wedding 2 years before our big days and communication was quick and super helpful. When the big day came, they arrived on time, set up seamlessly in the background and served so many of our guests who came back for seconds, thirds and fourths! I'm absolutely gutted I didn't get round to eating one but my husband and guests all said how incredible the crepes and waffles tasted. My gluten free and vegan guests were particularly happy as they were able to eat everything like everyone else! I'll be hunting them down in the future to get my hands on one of the crepes but genuinely couldn't recommend them more. This place is amazing, seriously. The people are great. Such a relaxed lovely atmosphere. Food is incredible. I’m gluten-free and never have a problem. Utopia is really welcoming and friendly. You never feel rushed to leave and it’s a great place to read, study, play board games etc. Quite easily the best coffee in Southend and lots of homemade cakes too, with vegan and gluten free options.

Best food about, always different, full of flavour, seasoning and so much choice that my gluten intolerance is catered for. Absolutely banging Sunday roast. The nicest guy, service is 10/10. You might even get a glass of Bolli when you order the lobster if you’re lucky. What more could you ask for. Don’t cook, just go to Blaq Cesars he’s really the best 🙌🏼

Gluten and garlic free diner. Separate non-gluten menu with plenty of choices for starters, mains; limited desserts (ice creams or chocolate brownie (yawn)). Staff very helpful and knowledgeable. Garlic mushrooms removed from my choice and replaced with extra fries, garlic mayo swapped for plain mayo. Everything hot, freshly cooked to order and tasty (burger with blue cheese). Because everything is freshly cooked to order and because the restaurant is popular, expect to wait for your order (30 mins for the ice cream to arrive, but so worth it!). Portions were more than adequate! Restaurant was very clean, as were the toilets. With my dietary needs, I felt very safe. I will definitely return. Separate gluten-free prep station in the kitchen and separate fryer.

We love The Woofer, the kids love The Woofer and the dog loves The Woofer. Great food option for everyone (including gluten free bread option for me!) even a puppaccino and biscuit for the dog. Staff are great; friendly and efficient.

We visited the pulp kitchen by chance on Sunday 28th as we wanted to find a nice cafe to have breakfast. The pulp kitchen exceeded every expectation we had. The food was amazing, the smoothies were delicious and the service was amazing. Really nice genuine people who made us feel SO welcome. My mother in law is a coeliac - she spoke to them while we were there and they went through everything with her, so she knows she can eat here too for next time. So glad we found this place and if you’re passing definitely worth a visit!! Thank you!!

Had a lovely breakfast here today! I'm vegan and gluten free and had a gorgeous breakfast - complete with bubble and squeak which was a particular highlight. My partner really enjoyed their butcher's breakfast and both of us said it was the best cooked breakfast we'd had in a while! Everything tasted fresh and flavourful and the coffee (with oat milk) was great too. Lovely atmosphere with relaxed music which was at a nice background volume level and not overwhelming. Waitress was very pleasant and helpful with dietary requirements and the cook was very helpful when suggesting alterations for vg/gf options. Overall a lovely experience and we will be back! Thank you very much!

This was our first visit. It was a very nice, relaxed evening, food was excellent, server was very friendly, nothing was rushed. Started with cocktails and nibbles, which were both a different twist with an Asian theme to some classics. The food we chose as starters were very tasty to set us up for the mains. Very pleased that they had options for gluten free vegans. Most of us had the bento boxes, which were well presented and very good. The service isn't fast but that's not the vibe, this was exactly what we wanted, a relaxed dinning experience, overlooking the sea, in a nice environment. We expect to be return customers.
