Food was amazing, I found this place via the "Find Me GF" App because my daughter has Celiac. Some people mentioned some gluten free options and not being sick afterwards. When I got there and mentioned celiac the staff immediately went into high alert in a good way. They take Celiac very seriously and informed me that they could not fully guarantee my accomodation without cross contamination. I appreciated the transparency. The Host had recommended the hawaiian bowl as a good option that wouldn't contain gluten. Before the order was official the manager or owner came out and broke it all down for me. Told me they would do everything they could to make that dish as safe as possible for my toddler. It was greatly appreciated it. On top of that the food was really good. And the final icing on the cake is the hot sauce on the table was Marie Sharp's from Belize. My mom being a native Belizean this put the biggest smile on my face. I don't frequent grants pass but I will 1000% go here next time I'm in the area instead of my beloved in-n-out lol.
The husband and I wanted to try it out after the change in ownership, so we went in for breakfast today.
The atmosphere hasn't changed since the place opened. They weren't busy at the time, the parking lot was maybe half-full. In the area that we were seated, there were two other tables with two people seated at each. We ordered first but did not get our food first. We waited over 30min for two eggs, meat and a cup of fruit. I word it that way because they messed up the order. I had specifically asked for steak & eggs, with gluten free toast (they said they carried it). When the waiter came back saying they didn't have any & asked me if they could substitute anything to "supplement the meal", my husband answered "bacon". Instead of steak & bacon, they brought back four slices of bacon. The orange juice & over-easy eggs tasted bland and my husband (who actually got the steak he requested), said his steak was chewy & bland, mentioning how he was not asked how he wanted it cooked. Not worth the cost.
Overall the owner and the bakery are amazing. I am from the Rogue Valley and love supporting local businesses. I think it’s incredible that they provide vegan AND gluten free options for wedding cakes and desserts. This was an important to me because I am dairy and gluten free with guests that were vegan. The flavor and texture of the cake is phenomenal, our non vegan/gluten free guests loved the cake too and couldn’t taste the difference.
However, I needed to knock off a star due to two reasons:
1. We ordered macarons because my husband isn’t a big cake person, the macarons were never made/delivered. The owner was apologetic when I followed up after the wedding and provided a refund. I appreciated this greatly and will make me a returning customer! We were definitely let down by this but we all human, things happen.
2. I was told that the design I requested could be easily achieved. I’ve attached a picture of the cake and a screenshot of the Pinterest inspo. I wanted almost watercolor inspired flowers with pearls all over the cake. The flowers and pearls were sparse. Perhaps I didn’t explain well enough what I wanted but I was a bit disappointed.
Again, I completely recommend Beef Cakes for wedding cakes especially for dietary restrictions! I will be a returning customer in the future.
These guys did it right!
I'm gluten free and some of the Subway's are choosing to no longer offer gluten free bread. This place is one of them.
It's frustrating when I tell them I want a sandwich with no bread (I have GF bread in my car when we travel) and they try to make and charge me for a salad!
The person taking my order got it without me having to explain it several times and I appreciate them for it!
This was delicious. Something for everyone in our family. They were able to use gluten free sourdough in place of the bun so I could have the burger I was craving. The loaded tots with pulled pork were great. They were very quick and the environment was very clean.
Such good food and friendly service. Great breakfast options and gluten free options. They can't guarantee there's no cross contamination, but my daughter loves the GF muffins and Macaroons.
He forgot to ask whether I wanted a wrap or a bowl. I just got home almost an hour away, and I have to give away my dinner and go without because I cannot eat anything with gluten. I'm bummed.
Very good! Friendly service, tasty menu. I was happy to find gluten free options. They had nice and fluffy gluten free biscuits and gravy, piled high with delicious gravy and fried eggs. Owner is very nice, good service, definitely worth stopping in!
The coconut margarita was amazing. They have gluten free french toast!! This made my day since places don't seem to want to do gluten free breakfast foods. My husband had the chicken fried steak and potatoes which is not gluten free but good he said. My mom had the regular French toast which she said was a bit soggy in the middle but understands this is a preference thing as we like ours done all the way through. Super busy when we went and only a few people working so they seemed a little as stressed but overall it was a good brunch spot with cozy feel to the restaurant.
