My new favorite place to eat forsure!! I didnt expect soooo many gluten free options!! Im gluten free this place is really just AMAZING THE STAFF & THE FOOD! I DONT EAT OUT MUCH ANY MORE BUT I DEFINITELY WILL BE COMING BACK HERE!
I was so excited to try this restaurant because I have a wheat allergy and they advertise "gluten free" options. I was with my daughter. She had the chocolate chip pancakes (that weren't bad). I had the gf chicken strips. So, they were hot when they came, which is great, however when I bit into the chicken several things happened. It did not feel cooked all the way through, it started draining out grease all over me (and it was hot), and the breading just came right off. I didn't want to finish that piece so I tried the second piece and almost the same experience. They either aren't cooking it long enough or they're not using the right part of the chicken. My fries were just fries. Also, I asked for coconut milk to put in my coffee. Both my daughter and I agreed that it had turned and was no longer edible. It ruined my coffee. We will not go back here. Which is sad because it's so exciting finding gf stuff. I hope they can figure things out.
The atmosphere was just "family diner". It took our waitress a long time to come back so we could pay the bill.

As someone who is gluten free and keto, I have never been able to find a bakery that offers both! I had the gf/keto carrot cake bar and lemon bar and they were amazing! The ladies there are so sweet as well💗
Came to the building to drop off a package. Walking past this store smelled so good. So I decided to give it a try, their blueberry muffin was really good and a good price. I also like that they sell gluten-free items too since my wife has a gluten sensitivity.
We called in our dinner order for pick-up. I had the bison burger which was really good. Wife had grilled cheese on gluten free bread that she enjoyed very much. We both got sweet potato fries that tasted like the oil was end of life. But the ranch made up for it.
We were visiting from out of state and found this restaurant using the Find Me GF app. After circling downtown to try to find parking for what seemed like forever, we finally made it into The Wild Pear. I'm glad we did! The food was high quality, very tasty, and there were great gluten-free options, including dessert! We were pleased with our meal, and our waitress was top notch, too! We left with happy, full bellies.
Great food and service!
I’ve gotten the risotto, French fries can be done gluten free, and the gf breakfast waffle and I think the hash bowl before.
They have great options and I’ve always felt safe eating here as a celiac.
We came in and I accidentally ordered regular crepes when they should’ve been gluten free due to allergy. They were so kind and accommodating and made all new crepes. Thank you French Press Staff. As always, the crepes and coffee is always good!!!

My wife and I went for our anniversary. I'm celiac, so finding a nice place that can meet my dietary needs is always a challenge. The food was outstanding. We had the salmon and the pork chop and they were both flawlessly executed. Our server was very kind and attentive and really went out of her way to look out for my dietary restrictions and ensure we had a great experience. Hands down the best dining experience we've ever had in Salem. Thank you for a wonderful evening!
We wereny sure what to think of this place at first, but then the food came.... The chicken and waffles were incredible, and gluten free! So excited to have delicious gluten free food.
My desire for pastries and cakes were 100% satiated thanks for this wonderful and adorable spot of commercial street. I had driven past it several times but never had a chance to stop there before. They have a variety of beautiful cupcakes as well as vegan and gluten-free options. I guess I found a new cupcake place. Good prices and wonderful employees, can’t wait to try another flavor.
Their gluten free pancakes were delicious, the bacon as well. They need to offer it with other items like they do with their regular pancakes, not just gluten free pancakes.
The staff is friendly and attentive. Pleasant atmosphere. Food is great, though gluten free options are limited. Main dining, bar, patio are, and banquet room have always been clean and maintained. Great place for meeting with friends and catching up.
The service was awesome the lady at the counter was super nice and the people at this place take gluten allergies very seriously. The service was extremely fast at least taking three minutes in total for pretty much everything (except for stuff like extra sauces which still took at least a minute or less). The men’s bathroom looked like it was cleaned by angels yesterday, and even the table has information about it that said stuff that made me feel like it was built by angels who had just traded the old wood for brand new wood at a poor orphanage. And the containers had minimal plastic even.
WARNING - If you have a dietary need such as Celiac Disease or a gluten sensitivity/allergy, look elsewhere. The waitress said they can't guarantee cross-contamination when the website said that they are prepared separately and never comes in contact with regular pancakes. We went to this restaurant because of the gluten free menu and the promise of pancakes being completely gluten free. We were from out of town and was very hungry. My wife didn't even get to eat anything and had to watch us eat. This is a huge disappointment and I urge anyone with those gluten free allergies/sensitivities to not even risk going here. If this location's wait staff can't guarantee a menu item that caters to dietary needs, it shouldn't be advertised and marketed like this.
Gluten free cake was delicious!
Highly recommend for gluten free cake specifically. And the cupcakes are amazing too - so many great flavor combos.
Was very easy to put in a custom order. And they made it easy to change my order when I had to make an adjustment.
We’ve order cupcakes and cakes twice now, and will continue to for more special occasions.
There’s always a wait on the weekends but it’s totally worth it! Their food is the best in Salem! 10/10 would recommend! Love their gluten free French toast!!
I'm trying to avoid gluten and afraid of eating out. It was so wonderful to see several great choices on the menu clearly marked. A lovely experience, and very good coffee too! Our server was terrific. Prices were very affordable and everything was spotless. I look forward to coming again
We are so lucky to have Isaac’s in Salem! The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. I appreciate all their gluten free and dairy free options.
Brooklynn is the one who took my order today and they were so sweet and personable!
It has a great atmosphere and very welcoming. So nice to have a fresh, made to order drink and also vegan/non-dairy, gluten free pastry treats that melt in your mouth.
Their food was good. Many great options for drinks. I thought they'd have more Gluten Free options. Not really a place I'll go often. If I do, maybe it'll be to try their drinks
They catered a wedding I attended and it was THE BEST wedding food I've ever had. BBQ ribs, coleslaw, salad, cupcakes - all exceptionally tasty and all allergens were noted which was very helpful for me being celiac. Cannot recommend strongly enough!
A lovely Salem treasure. Patty's was a delightful space with wonderful staff. They were polite, accommodating, and quick.
The food was also fantastic. I can definitely say that they have some of the best gluten free pancakes in town!
I wish we lived closer to this location!!!! Most all Baja experiences are very good-but this one was absolutely exceptional. The owner was helpful, kind, and attentive. He was sooo diligent in helping me get something gluten free for my celiac son. Stopped in with my whole family; we all had delicious meals and were thoroughly impressed!
Summary of visit: Undercooked pasta, long wait time, and too small of portion
I don't feel the food is worth the cost. Mind you, I do not mind paying if the food is good!
We came in around 3:10 on a Saturday afternoon. Our food was served almost exactly at 4pm.
I got spaghetti with meat sauce, along with gluten free noodles. My wife got a chicken pasta dish, also with gluten free noodles.
First off, it took over 30 minutes to get the dishes. I don't think pasta should take that long. I cook gluten free spaghetti noodles all the time, it only takes about eight to ten minutes.
After waiting 30 minutes, the pasta actually was STILL not fully cooked and was quite el'dente. Very firm. Edible but not entirely enjoyable. Noodles are easy to cook guys! It's literally eight or so minutes required. I don't know what they were doing for 30 minutes the restaurant had barely any customers in it at the time.
The meat sauce was ok but even while hot, I could tell it was quite sour. Not bad enough to avoid eating but not how I normally like. Once I got my leftover spaghetti in my fridge at home and then later tasted it after it got cold, the sauce was starting to taste a lot like stomach acid. This shows the sauce was a bit too acidic and tomato in my opinion. It needs something to balance out the acidity. Typically when I make homemade spaghetti it's still delicious even when refrigerator cold.
My wifes dish was also undercooked pasta but the most annoying thing was the small portion they gave her. She said she had been to this restaurant twice before and the portion she got tonight was about half the size of previous visits. She literally had no extra to take home, while I did! Her dish was $23! When they brought the dish out I was surprised at how small the portion was.
I don't think I was impressed at all and probably would not bother going back. Salem is really lacking in Italian food.
Our meals cost $60 total with tip! Not worth it for the quality or amount of food we got.
Positives:
The Focaccia bread was light, airy, and tasty. A highlight.
We had the minestrone soup, it was very good, and piping hot , perfect. I don't know if they make that soup in house but it was great.
The service was excellent our waitress kept everything in mind and was great. The food was disappointing.
Very disappointing. I got a chicken pesto on gluten free wrap. The wrap was dry, crumbly, and old. I paid for double meat and didn’t even get enough meat to fill the wrap. They had it on the grill for less than a minute and the meat was cold in the middle.
We stopped here and ordered a blended dirty chai and an iced dirty chai, both tasted awesome! Also tried one of there gluten free lemon blackberry scones (warmed up) and it melted in your mouth. SO good. Both baristas were very sweet and friendly. Thanks Tripp Dog Coffee!
