I can’t say enough good things, every experience I’ve had here has been great. I’m gluten free and visit family in Galveston a couple of times a year but just found this place. Everyone has been so helpful when I’ve had questions. I’ve tried the gluten free pop tart, gluten free cinnamon roll, gluten free key lime pie, and gluten free vegan meatball pocket and gf v curry pocket and it’s all been soooooo delicious. It’s all so flaky and moist and some of the best gf pastries I’ve ever had. Their matcha is fine, kind of bland and too sweet but their iced tea is tasty especially when paired with a nice sweet treat.
Cannot recommend this place enough and I’m so glad it exists!
My husband and I are from Houston and visit Galveston often, but this spot is officially going on our must-visit list every time we’re in town.
From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm, cozy, and inviting. The restaurant was packed, but we were seated quickly by the sweetest staff member, Sherry, who made us feel genuinely welcome. Our server, Blanca, was an absolute gem—kind, attentive, and quick to bring me a full gluten-free menu the moment I mentioned my food allergies (gluten and dairy). I had called ahead to ask if I could bring my own dairy-free alternatives, and the staff was incredibly accommodating. And the best surprise? They have gluten-free bread! For anyone with celiac or dietary restrictions, you know how exciting that is.
The food was absolutely phenomenal. Every bite was flavorful and clearly made with care. On top of that, every staff member we interacted with was so friendly and quick to strike up a conversation. We never once felt like we were just another table to turn over—there was so much heart in the service and it truly made the experience stand out.
We left full, happy, and already looking forward to our next visit. Can’t recommend this place enough!
Super cute atmosphere, a few allergies in the party and chef alberto came out to the table to help and made the BEST food-steak was so good and the redfish tacos were out of this world!!!!!!!!! I'm celiac and it was totally safe for gluten free :) also the cheddar grits were fab
Really delicious! Every family member was happy with their choice. The yogurt bowl with fruit and granola was particularly attractive and yummy. Pastry on my ham quiche was flaky and not tough as some can be. I only wish they had a couple gluten-free options, such as muffins, pancakes, etc. We sat on the patio on a comfortable spring morning, and we highly recommend this place.
Gaidos is a standard in Galveston and it's clear why! The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. They assisted with any questions I had regarding gluten free items on the menu and were able to make great recommendations. Our appetizer and dessert were amazing, I'm still dreaming about the soup of the day made by the chef! I was a bit disappointed for my entree as the sides and the meat used the same seasoning so the dish lacked depth, but everything else was amazing. The gift shop inside is also very cute.
$7 will get you a huge breakfast burrito with your choice of filling, on homemade tortillas. This the only place I've ever eaten that will make a burrito on corn tortillas. Very helpful if you're #glutensensitive.
The service was friendly and helpful. I love supporting small businesses and it's even better when the food is great!
I liked the atmosphere of being at someone's house, especially with the relaxed way of ordering and sitting yourself, but the food was just okay. There were not very many gluten free options.
