Great breakfast/brunch! Pleasant and fragrant environment, excellent food (very good acai bowl) and delicious coffee! Maybe a little slow in the service, but still helpful and kind staff!
Highly recommended, especially for gluten-free options, varied and tasty (if you have time).
I will definitely be back
We had a tremendously delicious lunch at the goodie foodie location next to the Plantin Moretus museum. The menue has a variety of bagels and pancakes as well as omelettes to offer. Especially lucky as we needed a glutenfree version which they were happy to offer. The staff was so helpful and funny, made us feel very welcome. This is a place we can highly recommend, even if stopping by for coffee only.
You can both take away food here and eat in. I ate in the restaurant where there is a homely, cozy, pleasant atmosphere with relaxing music. There is also a garden where you can relax in the summer. They have a full vegetarian menu here, with many vegan/lactose-free and gluten-free options. I enjoyed the eggplant in layers and the Chuck (chocolate cake) with a coffee afterwards. You may spend a bit more here, but the food was really good quality and very tasty. I can definitely feel it to eat here. I would like to come back myself to try other dishes.
The place is nice and clean. Good ambience. Perfect place to have a healthy food. Wide varieties of salads and mains. Vegan/vegetarian friendly. I really enjoyed the vegan dessert. I am not sure if there are gluten free options. Located close to the centre of the city. Friendly staff.
The only drawback is, I feel its bit expensive. I think they should introduce meal deals for (salad+/soup+main+desert+water/drinks)
Been twice with varying experiences. First time having to wait a long time for just drinks even though it wasn't particularly busy. 2nd time the service was better. Food was very good, but our daughter eats gluten-free. Clearly indicated, but then they just throw bread on her salad. Knowledge of the waitress about this was limited. Well resolved.
Extremely delicious. Gluten free, but limited availability for other allergens (from what I can tell literally every item has sesame and many have nuts). Other than that, strong reccomendation. Also they don't put cutlery in the take away bag, a bit of a challenge if you're eating a bowl of food covered in olive oil and hummus😅 Really delicious place though...if you can eat it...
Nice brunch opportunity. Acoustics not good. Very loud and difficult to hear those at the table. The breakfast was tasty and with gluten-free option. When asked if we could get another piece of gluten-free bread, the answer was no. This is a shame. This was possible for regular sandwiches. Service was good.
There are gluten-free pizzas for an additional charge of €4 that taste very good. In general, the ingredients are carefully selected to provide an exceptional taste experience. In addition, the service was very friendly and accommodating.
Nestled in the charming Dageraadplaats of Antwerp, Aan het strand van Oostende offers a delightful dining experience that tantalizes the taste buds and soothes the soul. The ambiance of the restaurant is a harmonious blend of coziness and elegance, making it an ideal spot for both casual brunches and intimate dinners. The menu presents a delectable array of French, Belgian, and European cuisines, with options that cater to vegetarians, vegans, and gluten-free preferences, ensuring that every guest finds something to their liking.
The culinary journey at Aan het strand van Oostende is a testament to the rich flavors and high-quality ingredients that define the establishment. The steak with peppercorn sauce is a standout, boasting a perfect balance of spice and savoriness, while the fish burger, with its crispy exterior and succulent interior, is a must-try for seafood aficionados. Even the classic mac & cheese is elevated to new heights, with a creamy texture and a comforting taste that feels like a warm embrace.
While the food is undoubtedly a highlight, the dining experience could be enhanced with a touch of warmth from the staff. A friendly smile and attentive service go a long way in making a good meal great. It's the little things, like a timely refill of water or a check-in during the meal, that can transform the service from satisfactory to exceptional.
Despite this, the overall experience at Aan het strand van Oostende remains a positive one. The restaurant's setting on a lively square adds to the vibrant atmosphere, where the buzz of conversation and the clinking of glasses create a symphony of urban life. It's a place where one can enjoy the simple pleasures of a well-crafted meal while basking in the energy of the city.
In conclusion, Aan het strand van Oostende is a gem that shines with its culinary offerings and enchanting setting. While there's room for improvement in the realm of hospitality, the restaurant continues to be a beloved spot for locals and travelers alike, promising a dining experience that's worth savoring.
Very cute Mexican restaurant with very attentive staff and great food. They have a small outdoor seating area but also inside is nicely decorated. The margaritas are strong, but good and all of the food is freshly homemade. We had a small portion of nachos as a starter and then two different type tacos. Everything is glutenfree except for the dessert. Overall great experience and will definitely come back when in Antwerp again!

I once went here to pick up a bowl during my lunch break. There are gluten-free options. The menu online clearly indicates this. A.d.h.v. I put together my own bowl using the online menu. It was delicious and worth repeating!
Gluten-free breakfast was worth paying attention to. Had to return some things to the kitchen (granola)
Management seemed rather arrogant. Annoying feeling!
Coffee is poor and the Kaiser rolls were hard.
Eggs & croissants were delicious.
The rustic atmosphere is bright & welcoming; a stark contrast while surrounded by what feels like a concrete jungle. From your 1st step thru the doors your senses awaken to the fresh aroma of baked breads, desserts & an assortment of coffees. I appreciated that the lunch & breakfast menu offered a nice selection of gluten free options.
Price-quality is good in this restaurant. During busy days you have to wait quite a while for your food. Large groups are limited to a maximum of 3 or 4 different dishes. Not really anything gluten-free provided (There are dishes that do not contain gluten, but it is best to inquire about this) there is little information on the menu regarding allergies. Usually very friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. Often very tasty suggestions. Parking is provided, but it is limited.
Lots of gluten free and veg options. I had the Tandoori chicken starter and a dal with rice. It came with a tiny salad and mint sauce. The chicken was most, and the dal well-spiced. I'd eat here again.
Friendly service by young employees. 🔝
Adjusting to gluten-free and lactose-free went smoothly.👌
No gluten-free bread available. 🤔☹
However, it is not a difficult or major investment
Shame, went here for dinner with friends. I have a gluten intolerance and it said online that there were options. 'Low gluten' AND vegan was on the menu... When I asked where there was gluten and what I could eat, the waitress (after asking the kitchen) came back to say that there was nothing gluten-free on the menu ? What an answer? I then asked if the salad would just go without bread, then it would be gluten-free. “Yes,” she said. When it was brought, she asked if it was okay. To me it looked like an ordinary salad, but there was gluten in the sauce... No effort at all from the kitchen, they don't know what ingredients they are using, at times like this I would better leave. Like it was so weird that I have an intolerance.
