Ginger snap, oatmeal, and Linzer cookies were amazing!
Fruit muffin with jam filling was light, airy and filled with berries.
It’s always a wonderful surprise when a gluten-free bakery pops up unexpected in a mall you’ve never been to before. You made my day! I can’t add any photos because I ate them all so quickly.
Winnie's has been a go to for my daughter who has Celiac. We have only purchased their desserts and she LOVES them. Maybe one day we will try some of their other food items. If you are looking for a CAKE you need to pre-order. They have various flavors available.
Mel’s Diner offers a classic diner experience with friendly staff, good food, and a retro vibe. We came at 9:30 on a Sunday and had a 20-minute wait for a table to open for 5 people, which felt like a reasonable wait time. There was counter seating available for smaller groups. We ordered quite a lot of food, and all of it was pretty good— nothing life-changing but a good, solid diner breakfast, with surprisingly good coffee. I typically find diner coffee to be pretty underwhelming. Mel’s menu also caters well for vegan and gluten-free people, which is something a lot of diners and breakfast places are missing. Mel’s has been around for a long time, and it makes sense why good food at reasonable prices with something for everyone on their menu.
Delicious food and stellar service! We visited Borealis Grille & Bar in Kitchener today for a belated birthday celebration for our son. The restaurant had a great vibe and atmosphere. We sat inside, but the patio looked nice from the large wall of windows.
All of the staff were warm and welcoming, and our server, Luigi, was exceptional! He was very friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable about the menu. He had a good sense of humour and seemed to enjoy interacting with guests, even as the restaurant became busier.
The menu offered locally sourced options and a variety of selections, including gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan choices. We ordered Barrie’s Farm Nachos, Blackened Chicken Taco Salads, and Cheddar Burgers. The prices were reasonable with good portion sizes. The food was delicious, timely, and well-presented and the homemade iced tea was refreshing.
Overall, we had a great experience and will visit again when in the area. Thanks again for birthday wishes Luigi! Cheers! Luana :)
I have visited this restaurant before, has always been good. My last visit was the kickoff to my birthday trip to Kingston, and it was exceptional.
Really love this place, because Stacked is one of the few breakfast places I've found in Ontario that offer gluten-free pancakes, waffles AND French toast. Most bfast places just offer GF bread, which is nice, but these days, with all the products available, I'll die on the hill that it's just lazy to not offer all menu items GF. Stacked always delivers.
I picked up my rental car in Kitchener, and decided to eat breakfast before driving to Kingston. Good choice.
It was a Thursday, but there were still a good number of diners eating...usually a sign on a weekday that the place is really good.
I started off with the celebration of Cinnabun pancakes. Do you know what a treat that is? I don't eat this stuff at home and these taste like the best cinnamon bun you ever tasted. With the pancake stack, you will also get meat, eggs and potatoes. It's a big meal full of carbs yes, but always good to treat yourself on occasion...life is short!
My server was Pratyasha. She is the most friendly and engaging server I've had at this restaurant. It's always nice when the server asks you a few questions and has a little conversation outside of just the food. She shows a genuine interest in her customers and it was much appreciated. Best server I ever had at this chain. She also knew that the sausage was not GF, and I always appreciate when your server knows that about menu items without you having to ask. Makes you feel safer about the food and shows they really care about their customers.
The food came out quick and was delicious. The scrambled eggs were not dry and the bacon was so good. Potatoes were perfect as well.
The restaurant was clean, including the bathroom and decor was cute. Easy free lot parking too. I'll definitely return. Hope Pratyasha is always my server!
Well I was told that the food was cooked on a bbq and there were no grilled lines or anything on my jerk chicken the rice was average at best all they did is put sauce on a cooked chicken breast I would save my money and not come back ! Although it is gluten friendly, if it’s a grab and go and not sit and eat I understand why it’s not that great you will wait to get home before you see the over priced food, maybe they should also say truffle chips are truffle salt on potatoe chips, marketing wins again not quality or value
I picked this restaurant for my family and i for breakfast because they meintioned they have gluten free options. When we 3ntered the restaurant i asked the lady if they had gf options just to confir and she confirmed. I ordered benedict eggs with toast, when it was served we asked if it was GF and the waiteress said it was not gf hence she brought me gf bread with eggs. I called her yesterday to confirm again if the sweet potatoes fries were gf and she confirmed it was gf because they use fresh sweet potatoes and they coat with chickpea flour. I now doubting about the bread if they really exchanged for gf. I have celiac disease, I haven't slept for two nights since Wednesday night because of excruciating pain all over my body. I usually feel pain during the day but if it gets worse at night. I have never experienced this much pain before. I will never go to this Cafe again and if you have celiac disease or any food sensitivity stay away from this Cafe.
I really like coming here.. I know based off the two stars you'll think why two stars. Let me explain. I am gluten free and I always order a gluten free bagel with cream cheese. I've gone 6 times now. 6 times... 6 TIMES. ordered that. They always bring me out it on gluten free bread???? Stating they don't have bagels.. then they check with the kitchen and bring back a gluten free bagel that's half done and sloppy and in horrible condition because they had to remake it. Every single time I've went in this has happened. WHY
Crazy first take out as I exit Winnies Gluten free bakery, the wafting pungent aroma pulled me across the street. "do you have spicy shrimp?
my rest is history, platinum star, clean super-fast service.
OMG...this has to be the BEST Indian food we have ever had!
Update: ever since our first visit, we have returned at least half a dozen times and have NEVER been disappointed.
Parking in the small plaza is plentiful and free.
The Grand Mehfil has free Wi-Fi.
The inside of the restaurant was extremely clean. I visited the men's room, which is a good indicator of how clean a restaurant really is, and was amazed on how absolutely clean the washroom was.
The Grand Mehfil has an authentic look and feel and plays authentic Indian music, which is something we actually enjoy and appreciate, rather than playing other music that doesn't fit the restaurant.
The food: this is one of the best, if not the best tasting Indian food we have ever had!
Even though the Vegatable Pakoda and Honey Chilli Potato are deep fried, there was practically no grease left over on our plates. The two appetizers actually filled us up and were very tasty. I loved the heat/spicey on the Honey Chilli Potato!
The Paneer Tikka Butter Masala and the Kadhai Paneer are the two entrees we had and would definitely recommend them!! I love spicy food and would definitely recommend the Kadhai Paneer; it's not overwhelming and very flavourful. The Paneer Tikka Butter Masala was absolutely fantastic! Flavour upon Flavour!! The chef(s) needs to be complemented.
The staff is extremely friendly and very helpful. They offered suggestions and recommendations and accommodate minor changes in their food and drinks.
The menu is vast and will take some time to go through. It contains different options such as vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and obviously meat.
My thanks to all the staff, the greeter, the waiter, the server, the kitchen staff and the cleaning staff, all of you do an excellent job!
My only suggestion is that on the "Tip Guide" located at the bottom of the receipt, in the amounts of 5%, 10% and 15%, these amounts should be based on pre tax total and not post tax total; we don't need to tip our government.
Ordered a Power Bowel and a Sandwich with Gluten Free options during lunch time, and it's really beyond my expectation. The employee takes care of my gluten free requirement seriously with cautions. Will come back again for sure.
Have been a few times. Every time I go the food is very fresh, the couple working is very friendly and hospitable. Have tried different rolls, nigiri and poke bowls and they are made on the spot. They also remember you the next time you come, such as a friend I go with needing gluten free soy sauce. Tap to pay is available, and they don't ask for tips. Will gladly go and support this local business for delicious sushi.
I went into Eggsmart for the first time last Friday. I had a conversation with the woman that greeted me about gluten free options. I told her I was celiac and needed to ask her a few questions about their gf options. She reassured me the Meat Lovers Scramble was gluten free and i5 included gluten free toast, home fries and a small fruit cup. She told me 3 times the home fries were gluten free. I ordered my meal, took it home and began to eat.
First off I must say it was absolutely delicious. However it wasn't long afterwards that I began to feel the tell tale signs of being glutened. I am on day 5 of suffering with the symptoms of getting glutened. I contacted head office to ask about their gf options. They were great and got back to me within an hour.
They told me their sausage has gluten and the staff should be aware of it. Also the home fries are NOT gf as the seasoning I was told is not gf. So if you are celiac please be careful if you decide to eat there.
Head office did tell me they will be in contact with the restaurant to ensure proper training is done.
Another hard lesson learned unfortunately for me.
I just enjoyed the Best Gulden-Free pizza "EVER"
I was introduced to Rustic Pizza by word of mouth by a number of Hemo-Dialysis nurses.
This is the BEST PIZZA I have ever eaten in my 10 years of being Celiac diagnosed.
GREAT JOB Rustic Pizza--
"I WILL BE BACK'
Thanks again for the GREAT pleasure- "YUM" "YUM"

*avoid this place at all cost. NOT CELIAC SAFE
Golf steak house in Kitchener/ Waterloo. I called ahead to ask about options before we attended the wedding. Was told, all good, and celiac is super common for them. I was to be given a stir fry.
Got there tonight, and talked to 3 servers before hand to make sure all was still good. We were told they forgot about the celiac meal.
Out came this meal, I double checked with the server twice to be assured that It was fine and was told all is good. The meal is celiac safe.
10 bites in, I found a noodle in my dish. I was then told it was not a gluten free noodle and that they « apologize for the inconvenience »
Inconvenience? I had to leave the wedding that we drove 9 hours to with cramps and nausea. Now I wait for this to get worst.
I never eat out and of course when I do, this happens. We deserve better.
The breakfast buffet, food, and variety of options were amazing! The head chef and waiting staff catered to my food allergies and always went out of their way to ensure everything was gluten-free and perfect! Shout out to Erika and Navi, in particular, for their friendly and impeccable service! Thanks for making my experience wonderful!
They were incredibly friendly, helpful and right on time. They have cheap pizza with excellent quality ingredients. They even have gluten free or cauliflower crust, and dairy free cheese!
Celebrated a birthday with over 20 people attending. Ages of our party ranged from 3 years to 60+, with various dietary restrictions including celiac. When I booked a couple of weeks prior, they asked that I send our entree orders early so their kitchen could ensure everyone received their meals about the same time (and I would think to not disrupt the flow for other customers). It was a huge help not just for them, but for us as well - no need to waste time browsing the menu, just sit down, and enjoy the company. The staff day of were excellent - polite and friendly with attentive service, even with a very busy restaurant. In addition, the food was fantastic, and all dietary needs were met!
Overall, would absolutely recommend Piper Arms Kitchener if you're looking for a restaurant to celebrate any occasion.
I attended Moxies for my first time ever this May 2025. I was very pleasantly greeted by Ruby the hostess who handled my food allergy to gluten extremely well. Also, upon meeting my waitress Mac, she did a tremendous job of handling my allergy and speaking to the back chef ensuring no cross-contamination occurred. She was very attentive and knowledgeable. And then was greeted by Jack, who also was very professional courteous and gave me a free appetizer for the next time I come in. When you have an allergy, it is greatly appreciated. The lengths that the staff went this evening. Also, the food was tremendously good with great variety. I will definitely be returning and bringing my family members as well. Thank you to Moxie‘s in Kitchener
