Great place on the harbour, overlooking the river mouth to the sea. Food was great and they had loads of gluten-free options with a separate frier The fish and chips were really good!

This was the first time we have visited since 2019, and it was as good as we remembered. Very dog friendly with gluten free cakes and bread. It can get busy but they have a good system where you add your name to a list and you are called when a table if free. We will definitely be back.

This was the first time we'd come to the running fox for breakfast, we normally have afternoon tea which is also fabulous. The selection of food was so much it was hard to choose what to have, even with me being gluten free. Had a lovely time, food was fab, service was great and it was also quite busy. We pre booked a table and we're glad we did. I would highly recommend a visit 😋😋

I would have given 5 stars across the board if the food order arrived a lot faster, as it took just under 50 minutes from ordering to it arriving at my table. On the plus side they have a fantastic specific Gluten-free menu with a large range of gluten-free options including starters, mains, desserts and sides. They also have a vegan specific menu as well, both running alongside the normal menu. What I had was delicious and will be back, hopefully to a faster service time. Food and drink can be ordered either at the bar or online

Great food and staff were friendly and helpful. The sun was out so we sat outside and ordered something to eat. We had a steak burger which was thick and succulent and the fries red hot and crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle along with bacon brie and cranberry sandwich on gluten free bread again was great. Normally glutten free bread isn't great but this was good! We will definitely be back to try more of the menu. . . .

Gorgeous food and drink. No wonder people book a table. They cater for vegans and vegetarians and gluten free. Hearty breakfasts and pancakes that will keep you full for most of the day! Delicious bread and a great cup of coffee. Nice clean environment and friendly staff. Car parking available. Dog friendly. Not the cheapest but definitely worth it.

Called in today on our way home after a weekend in Bamburgh. The Sunday roast was gluten free including Yorkshire puds, stuffing, gravy, and the most amazing Christmas cake also gluten free. The service was great, nothing too much trouble. What impressed me most was the amount of GF food offered. I have been in many expensive hotels that don't offer the variety this cafe does. This lady knows how to cook up home made food with great taste, value, and wonderful service!

We held a baby shower for 20 in the upstairs room of the Coquet Tea Rooms and it was incredible. Beverley was so helpful with organising and made it super easy for us. The food was amazing, a great selection of sandwiches, scones, savoury pastries and cakes- all baked fresh and tasting delicious. The staff even made up a small gluten free sandwich and cake at super short notice for us for one of the attendees. All of the staff were amazing, super friendly and helpful, even staying on a little bit later when we overran to let us get tidied away afterwards. If you’re looking for a small event space in Amble with delicious food, this is it- cannot recommend them highly enough!
