My gluten free wife and I dined here for dinner. I had the tangine, it was great. She had the steak salad and was very happy. Service was good, we rarely saw the same person twice, but we were taken care of.

Really good food. The pastas all tasted fresh and the gluten free pizza was done well. Great service from Magda. Thank you for a great experience on our last night in Inverness. Eat here if you don't know where else to go!
This is a cozy cafe with a nice alternative vibe. Where you get delicious looking and tasting food and drinks. Where you can chill out, grab a board game or work on your laptop. It is quite popular, so sometimes in summer you might have to wait and come back as they have 7 tables and ruffly 18 seats.
Vegan and gluten-free friendly and always new cool drinks on the menu. Plus I like that they display and sell local arts and crafts.
We had a recommendation to try Mustard Seed in Inverness and it didn’t let us down. We arrived late’ish on a Friday night and the friendly team accommodated us with a table. Food was very wholesome and really enjoyed it. Highlights for us were the mussels and venison. Gluten free well accommodated.
My daughter is coeliac and I’m GF so I did a bit of research before booking this restaurant. I called to check the burgers were definately GF and was assured they were. I also noted dietary requirements on the booking. We placed our order for 2 burgers only to be told that there were no GF buns. We decided to go ahead with the order as we had a theatre booking later that evening and it would have been awkward to find another restaurant. The waitress advised she would arrange for some “extra chips” with the burger.
When the food arrived it was almost comical the tiny burger had been hidden between 2 bits of little gem lettuce it looked like it was hiding its embarrassment! The burger was dry and tasteless the chips were at least hot but if that was extra I’d hate to see a normal portion. When asked if everything was ok with our me I said no. No effort had been made to try and elevate the bun less burger. Maybe a bit tomato, onion, cucumber would have been a start. £17.00 for a dry burger a small bowl of chips and a handful of leaves was awful. We spoke to the manager who was unaware they had ran out of GF bread he offered a discounted price and a dessert. We felt he was lacking basic knowledge of what coeliac disease actually us as he offered vegan icecream having just ordered a burger we are not vegan !
I feel the chef and management need to review their food intolerance options. I fear the chips were also fried in the normal frier where gluten products are cooked as later that night my daughter had some mild side effects from having eaten gluten. A bit more education in the kitchen I think.
In the end we were given 10% of the bill and our drinks free but it still felt very steep at £30.00 for an awful meal. Waiting staff were very nice and we felt sorry for them having to bring out such a pathetic plate of good.
Friendly little cafe with great food and loads of veggie, vegan & gluten free choices. I had vegan breakfast (I'm actually veggie but not fussed about eggs) I got veggie haggis, tatty scone, hash browns, veggie sausages & beans & tomato. Very nice! Partner had a Scottish breakfast and said the black pudding was the best he's ever had. Dogs welcome & have their own menu.
Popped in for lunch. I am Coeliac and they really catered for me with a lovely BLT on gluten free bread and a GF cake to follow, my wife also enjoyed her choice of lunch
Quick bite to eat whilst visiting Inverness for the day.
Im gluten free and was really fancying a burger and after some google searching found this place and it did not disappoint.
the burger was amazing. Best burger I’ve had in a while. Didn’t have any cocktails but they looked great.
Staff friendly, squeezed us in before 5:30 prior to a booking already in, as didn’t want a table near the door as it was freezing, as we were only looking for a quick bite to eat.
Drinks served quickly, and burgers were also served in a reasonable time.
Looked a great place for drinking cocktails. Would definitely return.
So disappointed with this venue today. Normally feel safe here for GF.
Waitress obviously not aware how dangerous allergies are. She served us with our order of Gluten free pancakes to the wrong customer!!!! We had to call her back to confirm which was which. Even then she wasn't entirely sure. So glad GF ones have seed through them or goodness knows how ill the Gluten Free person would have been.
On paying the bill the waitress asked if we had enjoyed pancakes. GF person replied I'll have to wait and see if I've been glutened before I can answer that. Waitress just laughed. Obviously not aware of the damage her carelessness could have caused and how ill the Gluten free person could be as a result. This is a place which specifies GF on the menu so should know better. I'm not one to revert to social media for things like this, but can't contact the company from their Facebook page or find any other way to contact them, so feel this is the only option. Perhaps owners will see and retrain staff
Fantastic experience for my mum's birthday. Main courses were amazing and catered for celiac disease with an exclusive menu. Desserts were equally as good. Thank you so much for putting decorations and even a wee candle on my mum's dessert. Also all of the staff were so friendly, a credit to the restaurant!! We will be back for sure 😁
FOOD was amazing and amazing options for gluten free and vegans food was absolutely delicious the staff were super kind and prices were very fair and well worth it the location is a bit noisy being in a market area but still an amazing place to eat
4 adults - servers weren't clear and struggled to make sense of what they were saying. Food came out incredibly slow, by the time the 4th dessert come out all 3 other desserts were eaten. The gluten free pizza is not worth the money.
Food, service, space, exquisite atmosphere.
I liked it so much that I repeated it the next day.
The dishes I tried were:
1- avocado and egg toast (they did not skimp, large quantity, generous portion)
2- toast with salmon (the best salmon I have ever tried)
3- pancakes with fruits and honey (exquisite)
4- gluten free brownie (brutal, fluffy and without cloying)
As drinks:
1- Excellent coffee (they have many options, size, chocolate, etc.)
2- smoothies (refreshing and with unmatched milk cream)
Lastly, I found the space created for souvenirs very original, very cozy!
Without a doubt, I would go every day!!
Lorrimers is a great eater, we always love the breakfasts from here. Although we have been for high tea and was
Brilliant. Also my other half picked me up gluten free sandwichs and they where brilliant, which to everyone else
Sounds normal, but finding good gluten free sandwiches when taking away isnt an easy feat, but lorrimer knocked
Out the park best gf sandwich ive had for take away.
Went here for lunch on the 7th for my birthday. Really good food. We had the chicken burgers, made from fresh chicken breast. I asked if they had wheat and gluten free roll and they went out of there way to help. Staff were really nice. There having work done at the moment so they gave us free coffee for the inconvenience. Would definitely eat here again
Fantastic lunch had today. Love the choices on the menu with plenty options for those who are gluten free.
Service was excellent and staff were incredibly friendly.
Positives: good wifi, close to the train station, abundant gluten-free options, supports local folks in need.
Negatives: 30 minute wait for basic breakfast (toast, poached egg, sausage link, and a piece of bacon) and the beans were still cold, coffee was pretty harsh.
The cafe does get good overall reviews, so it's possible we just had a bad experience. Not great, though, if you're waiting for a train or want to squeeze in some breakfast on any kind of timeline.
While a little off the beaten path, this light filled cafe is well worth the walk. Attentive, friendly staff and excellent food and coffee, this is highly recommended. There are vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options for the breakfasts which are well thought out and quite substantial, not simply the standard breakfast with ingredients removed. The cafe is dog friendly and obviously a bit of a local hub. Its only downside is its location, quite some way out of central Inverness, but combine a visit with a walk down the river, which is not that far away, and that sole downside largely falls away.
Food was stunning, so flavourful! Loads of gluten free options and lovely staff. Very happy with this little cafe, if we didn't live so far away we'd be there weekly ❤️
Super tasty, portions are good, they have a nice looking selection of cakes and pastries. Gluten free options available. Nice to have somewhere like this close by.
