Our favorite breakfast spot when visiting SLO! Sally Loo’s was recommended from friends that live in the area and we couldn’t have been more glad we came.
Hands down they have the best breakfast food we have ever tried, all while being allergy friendly and quick to get the orders out. I don’t think I have ever seen a cafe that has knocked out a line of 30 people so quickly, all while keeping the food quality top notch.
My wife is allergic to gluten and eggs, so the restaurants we can go to are limited. Sally Loo’s handles allergy restrictions effectively and efficiently. Every restaurant can learn from them.
This is one of my favorite restaurants! They can make anything but samosas gluten free, and can make most sauces dairy free. I love being able to have naan again! My favorites are lamb boti kebab, tandoori chicken, chicken vindaloo, vegetable pakora, chicken pakora. I've heard their chicken tikka masala is wonderful, but haven't had them make it dairy-free for me yet.
Had an excellent lunch experience at Luna today. Service was great from start to finish. They have plenty of vegan/vegetarian and gluten free options. We chose the cauliflower tacos and paella. Both were exceedingly delicious. Ambience is fun with sunny colors. Highly recommend this place!
Linnea's is my favorite cafe! So many tea options, and the workers are welcoming and nice! The back garden is very relaxing and a great place to study or catch some live music. Many vegan and gluten free options for those with dietary restrictions. Tea and coffee loyalty cards can help you save some money if you become a repeat customer (like me)!

I get what all the hype is about; Giuseppe's is legit delish. We ordered Margherita pizza and Cima di Rapa pasta, both gluten free. We had the Gelato trio for dessert - we tried pistachio, butter pecan, and lemon - pistachio was our fave. We look forward to eating there again, and appreciate so many gluten free options.
Our host, Christopher was so knowledgeable with items on the menu and sensitive to my gluten allergies; double checking on items to make sure they were safe for me to enjoy. He came back to check on us multiple times as did other waiters to refill our water glasses. The Nada Colada mocktail was to die for. Be prepared to eat art as every dish had the appearance of a masterpiece, which I appreciate. I gave 4/5 stars on food as I do feel the flavors could be elevated on some dishes such as the cauliflower soup and coconut pie. We will be back and are delighted that our furr babies can join us out on the patio. Views of creekside made for a fine dining experience.
skip the gluten-free pancakes :(
Dry and tasteless gf pancakes, and I know from experience that good gf pancakes are attainable with the right ingredients. They were a nice size, though. Plus, the waitress ignored my request for more syrup and butter, which is a very unusual request coming from me, but something had to be done to those discs! LOL
This is not just a restaurant, but an experience. There’s an old-school 1970’s/1980’s Americana vibe, and the food is REALLY good! Had Bennedict and the hollandaise was just ok (probably a mix), but a nice thick slab of ham on gluten free bread and perfectly crispy hash browns and fruit, which tasted very fresh. And of course anyone who stops MUST eat cake there, which is super fluffy and whipped creamy. The pink one is what they’re famous for
Visited for the first time this morning. I am celiac and vegetarian, and the staff were amazing helping me find something I could eat! My group ordered a variety of different items, and everybody was very happy and very full by the end of the meal. Portions were very generous, and staff members all went above and beyond to make our experience great! Highly recommend if you’re in the area!
My girlfriend and I, along with our two dogs made a stop here after exploring the many trials of Los Osos has to offer. We built up an appetite.
Open entering we were greeted by our host - the place had a very cool vibe, he was very friendly and greeted us with a smile, he immediately offered up a water bowl to our dogs - this was b4 we had the chance to ask him if the establishment was dog friendly ✅. We were lead to the counter where we placed our orders. Tri-tip French dip, chicken salad and a couple cups of pozole + a couple glasses of wine. Seating was plentiful and comfortable but mostly outdoors. We found a table and waited for our order, both our dogs got their own seats :) The ambiance at this place is awesome; very cool art, fun and edgy decor and awesome music - we heard mostly 90’s: alt and hip hop. Rage against the machine comes to mind. The food came out quickly and with a smile. Tri-dip dip dip was insanely good and made with gluten free bread, chicken salad was on point and the pozole was hellza legit; it also came with a side of their sourdough which was extremely good.
Beerwood is a wonderful establishment. Will plan another visit next time I’m in town
I can't say enough about this restaurant So good! So fun and beautiful! Great vibe and customer service. I'm a vegetarian and got there gluten free pizza..delicous! and gluten free pasta also very yummy!! Indoor and Outdoor service. Great location,,so pretty espically at night with all there lights. Highly recommend. Make a reservation
AMAZING GLUTEN-FREE AVO TOAST!
I am always hesitant to order something with gluten-free bread because the taste and texture usually ruin a sando. Not here!
Toast #5 (with smoked salmon) was absolutely scrumptious!
The interior is fresh, clean, airy, and bright. The counter staff are very pleasant and match the whole vibe of the place. BONUS: dine-in food is served with reusable plates/bowls/glasses/utensils = eco-friendly!
I am new to SLO and I am delighted to have found this gem! I will be a regular and can’t wait to return!
Legitimately the best poke bowl I've had from Hawaii to New York.
As of today, for $21.95 you get 4 large scoops of protein plus 3 sides which can also be protein like spicy tuna or avocado or mac salad.
All of the sauces are gluten free and made with tamari!
Only a couple items weren't gluten free, such as the fish eggs.
I felt like I was waddling out of this place it was so filling the entire day. I absolutely will be back!
PS: the don't take cash so make sure you have a card.
One of our favorite restaurants in SLO. Has enough gluten free options and the staff is kind enough to accommodate gluten free requests every time. The cook understands no cross contamination and was willing to cook my food in a separate skillet. Just a down home place with good food every time!
Amazing food, substantial & creative menu, great service, located on the main strip of downtown SLO. Plenty of gluten free (gf) options, free wifi and a few indoor & outdoor table options. Cafe is small, but I can see them doing very well in an expanded location!
We chose to sit in the patio and watch planes. The staff was exceptional. Food was great. I had fish and chips with grilled fish. Coleslaw is better than most. Truly competitive with coastal restaurants. And gluten free bread offered.
Great breakfast spot! I have gone here many times over the past 20 years since I was a student at Cal Poly and it never disappoints! I usually get the Buzz Burrito with chorizo, it is very filling and I could barely finish it! You could even share that with a friend.
My wife is Gluten Free so they made her the Buzz Burrito without the tortilla. Basically the burrito filling on a plate and she really liked it. They have your standards like omelettes, Benedicts, scrambles, fruit juice, coffee, etc. On the weekends it can be REALLY popular and you might have to wait. They don't take reservations. Indoor and outdoor seating options. Friendly staff, good service. Highly recommend!
We went for dinner tonight (Tuesday) and really enjoyed our food. My husband had the best scallops. Our server took excellent care of our whole table and accommodated our request for gluten free options. I don’t remember her name but she had the best pink hair! We will be back!
