First time here and this was an excellent experience! The waitress was VERY knowledgeable of the menu and Gluten Free items, including the dessert items in the market. The food was fantastic, all for of us kept racing about what we ordered.
If you enjoy soul food and live in, near, around, or close enough to Sanford, FL, you absolutely must go to Shantell's. We found this gem in her app that has a focus on finding gluten-free food.
My wife doesn’t get the option to have delicious fried foods that are also GF. I got the fried chicken and she got the catfish. But me being a true-blue gluten eater, I can tell you this food was fantastic! Oh and you have to get a side of Shantell’s Sauce. 🤤
The staff was warm, welcoming, and accommodating. And we got to meet Shantell while we were there. The atmosphere was fun and creative too. This was our first time there. And it will NOT be our last.
The food was great! Big hits at our table were the stuffed french toast and the cheesy grits. The gluten-free toast is the best I've had at a restaurant! Very pleasant surprise! Our server, Debby, was very polite and attentive.
The food and service were excellent. Our server Jade took good care of us, even our gluten sensitivity. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was because the table condiments needed restocking and overall better cleaning.
If you do not like a lot of cold air, bring a light jacket or sweater.
I absolutely LOVE the atmosphere here. Friendly service. Coffee and food are always absolutely delicious. Love that I can get gluten free food here. The place is so cute and I love their homemade mugs and saucers made in Columbia ranging from $30 and up. I highly recommend this place! I will definitely be back every chance I get. I have already been 3 times already. 😂
I have been here many times. The last 2 times I have had a horrible experience and last night was the topper. I don't understand how people have about the food. It's way overpriced. Doesn't come out correctly and waitress was rude. I have to eat gluten free. I ordered the gluten free white pizza with chicken and mushrooms. It took awhile for all of our food to come out when it did my pizza was cold. Like they had it sitting for awhile and then served us. It was cold. Dry and the grilled chicken was horrible. Since we waited so long I hesitated on saying anything. I was hungry and we were celebrating my work Anniversary and didn't want to ruin it. I finally did at then end afer.only eating one slice. The waitress said oh I am sorry. It depends on the cook. Do you want a box for the rest. What? Seriously? After what I paid. I really expected a better response then that. I work in customer service. This is the 3rd time now and I am.completely done. Won't be back. Not paying those prices and not be able to enjoy a meal. I have had gluten free pizza elsewhere and it.was much better. Sorry Christo"s I used to love coming there but not anymore. My.friends and I.will not be back. Poor food and lack of customer service.
North side of the restaurant was not air conditioned appropriately. I was moved to the other side and found it pleasant. I enjoy the Cali club and wavy fries. The Bourbon bacon burger that my husband had was served without a bun at his request because they did not provide sourdough bread. He can only eat that kind. He still enjoyed his meal. The server brought him a gluten-free English muffin on the side at no charge. Impressive.
We had a fantastic Sunday breakfast at this IHOP location. Our server, Jamie, was absolutely wonderful. We all enjoyed our food though I was especially happy because they have gluten-free pancakes, and they were spectacular.
Amazing dinner: The shrimp skewers were outrageous! The salmon was out of this world! We started with a plate of french fries as an appetizer. Yes, it's not listed as an appetizer, but they accommodated! Staff were extremely friendly and again the food was just amazing! Oh! And Gluten Free Options! Ambience within the restaurant is great. Seeing the old brick and old paraphernalia really made it a nice experience. It is not old and dirty, it is old and classy. Yes, for an old jail it is classy. Really loved everything! And it was great to hear some history from our server.
Awesome Indian Buffet with plenty to choose from. Multiple gluten free options. The chicken was my favorite. Plus small salad bar. Very inexpensive and a menu if you don't want to get the buffet. Staff is very friendly and meals were inexpensive.
Great food, super friendly staff. I’m celiac and they were very willing to accommodate my needs with a separate pan and toaster. Very few restaurants will accommodate like this. I highly recommend this restaurant and will be back!
The food was very good. My husband and friends went bananas on the honey buttered crossiants. I was tempted, but I am on a gluten-free sensitive. They have a gluten-free menu.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Sanford. They offer gluten free dishes with their substitutes for corn instead of flour tortillas. Their chicken fajitas are amazing! And Nico makes the best margaritas.
