My absolute favorite restaurant! The most delicious food, the safest for people with celiac, the kindest staff, the best vibes, most amazing happy hour! I couldn’t recommend a place more!
My husband and I decided to come here yesterday for a last minute night out and we have 2 complaints -
1. The menu on their website reads as if they have gluten free pasta and pizza options because both sections are not marked with the “cannot be made GF” asterisk. I am gluten free so this was a let down. I definitely recommend management update the website to be more clear.
2. Our cocktails were bad. We each had one of the signature cocktails and felt like they were unusually sweet. We then got 2 dirty martinis and they were very bad. We had asked the waitress if they were served in chilled glasses and she said yes but that was not true. The martinis we received were warm and not dirty. Could barely drink them.
Our food was tasty and the service was good so I hope next time is better on the cocktail front!
I am a new lover of Veda! After coming here with a friend over the weekend I decided to return for lunch this week. I was so happy to find out they had specials for restaurant week!
The fish pakora was so good I literally wrote home to mom about it! As someone with dietary restrictions finding a place to eat can be hard, but Veda has loads of clearly labeled gluten free options. Their fish is sumptuous and flavorful. I also got the fish moylee and the sauce was so good I could swim in it! I totally enjoyed everything I had. Everything tasted very fresh, flavorful, and delicious.
Apart from the food the service was wonderful. My waiter was kind and attentive at every point throughout my meal. It’s great when food tastes good and even better when service stands out. My waiter, Khemraj, was so kind and helpful I will make it a point to stop by again sometime this week when he is working. Do yourself a favor a stop by Veda. Whether you’re by yourself, on a date, or with a friend- you’ll be glad you did!
Quaint little restaurant bar atmosphere. The menu is awesome, but very few options for a celiac gal like myself. The curry deviled eggs were amazing. Gluten is a whole vibe there, so those who can, enjoy!
A wide variety of food from Latin countries. However, I didn't see anything that reflected true Puerto Rican options. That was a disappointment. They have a few gluten free options and only one option for brunch. I'm not a fan of chipotle and wasn't in the mood for nachos for breakfast I just had rice and beans which were like warm not hot. It was almost cold. A huge turn off. I tried the yucca bowl that was good but had more cheese than yucca. The yucca fries were good but lacked a distinct flavor. I would have liked some adobo to give it more taste. Service was great. The environment is nice especially if you can eat outside. I will go back to try other things in the future and specify to warm the food.
This place is just soo good! I have a gluten allergy and can easily get a yummy lunch here without any worry. The Kale Caesar, charred broccoli and chicken thighs are to die for!
They have gluten free options, BUT there can be cross contamination in their ovens for the pizza, so if you are coeliac it’s better to eat the pasta. The staff was super friendly and the food was really good.
The best Dinning experience I've had in some time. The service was A1, the food was beyond anything i could have expected. The Atmosphere is very pleasant and enjoyable, They were able to accommodated for my friend who has Celiac, The staff goes above and beyond to make sure your experience is excellent, This restaurant is a 10/10 in my opinion.
Great food and even better service. Our server was very helpful in letting us know which menu options were gluten free (a lot!). We also sat overlooking the kitchen and you could her the kitchen staff confirmed orders with nut or shellfish allergies--I would feel comfortable eating here with a food allergy. The two of us shared four plates and it was the perfect amount of food. The crispy oyster mushrooms were our favorite.
My favorite. What a cute cafe. Always busy. Service is great but the food is even better. The Tunisian tuna salad is just wow i get it every time and a lot of their food is gluten free as well. What a great little spot
Kitschy interior is a 70's dream and food and drinks are priced well. A happy hour special on the rooftop provided everything I needed: drinks, gluten free options, a view, and great music.
Amazing flavors, accompaniments, and execution by two chefs at newer place block away from busy Rittenhouse Square. Less wait than places on the square. Mediterranean influences. Octopus, foie gras, duck. Sidewalk seating and upscale euro tavern feel inside. Can eat healthy here, gluten free, low carb, vegetarian. Decent happy hour food choices. Business related to Maj Hotel on Spring Garden which is also was excellent.
Amazing food, plenty of gluten free options because they use rice flour for most fried dishes. One of the best meals out in Philly we’ve had in a while. Great service as well.
All around excellent experience, and I will recommend this location to anyone for breakfast or lunch. We were greeted promptly at the door, and our server was attentive, and he introduced himself within seconds of being seated. The temperature inside was perfect, and the table was clean. Good music played in the background. The server was knowledgeable about the menu and was quickly able to offer gluten free and vegan options. The food was better than expected and came out about 12 minutes after ordering. The coffee was 💪 strong! Just how we like it! The bathrooms were clean and nowhere did I experience any bad smells. I'm only in the city for a couple days, but may end up returning here again!
