Genuinely pleasantly surprised. Despite the crowds, very smooth and well served by a clearly professional team. I eat gluten-free and vegetarian and that combination often limits my menu options to one dish. But here it turned out to be an adapted menu with 3 gluten-free-vegetarian main courses alone. Really very special. In short, this restaurant is highly recommended. Photo of vegetarian gluten-free pickled meat😋.

I’ve been living in Maastricht for 6 years now and every time one of my friends or my family visit me here, I take them here for brunch. The atmosphere is super cozy, the personnel is incredibly nice and the food is delicious! I also love the variety that they bring in the menu through seasonal specials, and no matter if you eat anything or if you have any restrictions (vegan, vegetarian, gluten, allergies etc), you will find great options on their menu. It can get a bit packed around 10/11 am though, so I would recommend coming earlier for brunch☺️

Back at Carée after three years – and what a party! From the moment we walked in, we immediately felt welcome. The owner is the soul of this business: she cooks with passion and knows how to perfectly convey the flavors of authentic Italy. Each dish is prepared with fresh, pure ingredients – you can taste the love in every bite. We enjoyed a generous three-course menu that was more than worth the price. Everything was prepared with care and beautifully presented. Also nice: dietary requirements, including gluten-free, are really taken into account. In short: Carée is truly a culinary Sicilian pearl in Valkenburg. We will definitely be back - and this time not for another three years!

They have gluten free bagels and staff are very knowledgeable although it might depend who is on duty. I asked for the allergen menu which is quite detailed, breaking down all the ingredients with their allergens. Went with the safest option which was a plain bagel with cheese cream. When asked for the omelette bagel they advised against it due to contamination (not exactly sure why but I took their advise) If I had to suggest something, it's for the waiters to bring food on a separate dish to avoid cross contamination
