It’s great that they understand the need to offer gluten free bread, but they need to get a better brand. My bacon and Brie toastie tasted and had a texture like cardboard. The coffee was very weak, even though they called it a double shot. The service was unenthusiastic (both staff appeared to be sullen teenagers). Oh yes, and they don’t even serve ginger nuts - my friend was very disappointed!

Rude staff in the restaurant, told some of us we could order gluten free, some not - orders were taken incorrectly…do not recommend!

Vary rarely there's a place that does everything well. The Avellino team does. It's difficult if you have special dietary requirements, like allergies. I have an allergy and two intolerances & my Mrs has an intolerance and an allergy, we feel very comfortable eating here. I spoke with Loni, (apologies for incorrect spelling). He can advise against dishes containing allergens. The cutlery is clean. The glassware is clean and not chipped or cracked. The crockery is also immaculate. The tables are always clean. The draught's are properly chilled and don't taste like the lines haven't been cleaned in a long time. The front of house staff are always immaculately presented and service is of the highest quality. The cocktails are exquisite and if you fancy one but don't want alcohol, there is a mocktail menu also. They cater for veggie and gluten free. They have a lovely, large open space dining room. I dropped my fork, the cutlery is back end heavy. By the time I had picked it up he had come over with a replacement. It's almost silver service and Michelin cuisine but for a very reasonable price. The menu is a mixture of Italian and Greek influences. But the product is purely indulgent. Which brings me to, desert. If you can permit the calories the desert menu is a sweet tooth paradise. Excellent coffee. Most of my reviews are 1 star, I acknowledge I'm difficult to please and often heavily critical. This time, if there was a 6th star I would have awarded that.

This is a lovely family-run cafe that has been standing in Broad Street for over a quarter of a century. Having recently rediscovered itself as a vegetarian and vegan cafe in late 2021, it caters to those who have, or are, willing to turn over a new leaf (pun intended)! They have a vegetarian menu with vegan options and several also cater to those who are gluten intolerant. Run by two ladies - Nikki and Charmaine, this place has a warm atmosphere and friendly vibes with food that's made with love. Whether you come here for the warm soup or for scones and tea, you will leave with a smile, because of the warmth of the hosts. The light background music means you don't need to shout to be heard across the table. I will be going back again, that's for sure.

Lovely cafe with excellent options. We had never been there before and picked it due good breakfast menu and they had nice outdoor seating area . My friend is gluten intolerant and they could accommodate her. They easily and friendly explained everything on menu. our food and drinks, americano teapot of earl gray arrived very quick. Our food was of very good quality and all at correct temperature. Places like this are little gems and hard find. Eggs perfectly cooked, everything at right temperature. I'm going back my friend who is used to lovely Portuguese cafes and returning there very soon was also suitable impressed. Good to find places like this.
