Needed a wedding cake for a small group that was vegan & gluten free. It being nut free was an added bonus as we did have a friend with said allergy that I was just going to buy regular cupcakes for. We got the small brownie cake with coffee frosting. It’s a very rich cake and we had plenty of leftovers. It was so cute and the perfect size for our small group.
Swingers in Hollywood isn’t just a diner—it’s a slice of LA history with a side of sass and really good fries. This place has been serving up late-night eats and early-morning recoveries since the days when indie bands and studio execs shared booths. It’s got that lived-in cool without ever trying too hard: checkerboard floors, jukebox charm, and the low hum of a city that never quite sleeps.
The food? Way above the curve for diner fare. Think golden pancakes with just the right chew, fresh arugula tucked into a breakfast burrito, wild-caught tuna melts that taste like someone in the kitchen actually cares. Whether you’re vegan, gluten-free, or just hungover and looking for comfort, they’ve got something legit—and made with better ingredients than you’d expect at 2am on Sunset.
What really pulls it all together is the staff. Engaged, sharp, always game for a little banter if you are, or just genuinely attentive if you’re flying solo. They know their regulars, but they’re just as warm to first-timers.
Swingers is the kind of place that keeps its edge without losing its heart. A diner that feels like home—if your home had really good huevos rancheros and cooler people hanging around.
The food is delicious, and place itself is awesome, they have board games that we can play while waiting for the food, and they also have gluten free food.
Amazing gluten free options, especially for those with a sweet tooth. Best GF doughnut I've ever eaten. Great spot for something to eat and drink after a hike.
The menu is extensive! I love the Spinach Benedict and the strawberry french toast (both made gluten free) with their mimosa. This is the perfect weekend/ post-hike treat.
To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to bring to your attention a serious issue regarding a recent order I placed for delivery from your restaurant. I have celiac disease and specifically marked all my food items as gluten-free when ordering. Unfortunately, I was gluttened by the sauce accompanying the spring rolls, and I am now concerned about the pho as well. Although I didn’t consume all of it, I discarded the rest of my meal, fearing that it would make me ill.
I want to emphasize how important it is for your staff to be fully educated on handling gluten-free orders, as this is a significant health risk for individuals with celiac disease. The woman I spoke with on the phone was kind, empathetic, and reassured me that she would confirm the details, but this situation should not have occurred. While I understand that mistakes can happen, this incident is a matter of negligence, and your restaurant could be liable if others are affected in the same way.
I appreciate that DoorDash refunded me for the meal, but should I require medical treatment, I will need to send you the bill. I urge you to take this matter seriously and ensure that all your cooks and servers are properly educated on food allergies and autoimmune conditions.
Thank you for your attention to this issue. I hope this can be addressed so it doesn’t happen again in the future.
Sincerely,
Lauren B.
Really nice place with a cute outdoor garden. Unfortunately I came here while it was raining in LA (what are the chances of that, right?!) Regardless I had a great time and really enjoyed their coffee. They do have wifi and a nice atmosphere. I had a breakfast burrito that had plant based sausage and I was pretty pleasantly surprised by that. They also had fresh pastries and some gluten free options. Overall definitely will come here again and it has a good vibe.
One of the top five breakfast experiences of my life. Our server was a complete pro. They don't have gluten free toast options so he kindly offered corn tortillas as an alternative and we appreciated it 100%. There was no wait, we were seated immediately, offered our choice of tables. The chilaquiles is served with scrambled eggs on top, but I like chicken on them too. I was thrilled to see they offer chicken breast on the menu and it's not just one but TWO very big grilled breasts. The portions were large and we only finished half of what were served. We loved eating our dishes again the next morning.
Had the breakfast platter which was fresh and delicious. I also enjoyed the chocolate banana loaf and was thrilled to have gluten free pastry options. My husband had the yogurt parfait and commented on how fresh and delicious the granola was. My husband is Argentinian and was thrilled to also find Argentinian pastries and empanadas. Coffee was lovely and staff were great. Nothing negative to say about this place.
We came here before heading to la brea tar pits and it was a short and pleasant walk from there. Would recommend to anyone else visiting the museum or who lives in the area.
