I was craving a donut one day and when I found this place I was not disappointed! They had tasty gluten free donuts and I got a iced strawberry matcha drink that was delicious as well. The space has an inviting atmosphere and the staff is very helpful and friendly as well.
Milie’s Cafe has so many options, from vegan to regular and gluten-free! I ordered the Devil’s Mess and it was packed with bold, delicious flavors. My hubby got The Usual with gluten-free pancakes and they were 🔥. We also loved their fresh, homemade orange juice, and the Blue Majik latte was a refreshing and tasty surprise. Highly recommend for a flavorful and inclusive brunch spot!
The food is great, the people are nice, and I’m definitely coming back! I’m gluten intolerant, so I’m stoked to find a place with quite a few delicious options for me!
First of all this is no longer called Valentines & there is a different name on street signage. It was hard for me to find & so when I arrived literally 3 minutes after they closed they acted like they were doing me a favor. I said all signage is different and there was no acknowledgement of the confusion. They knew I was flying in & had sent email and text confirmations - at any point that name change could have been clarified so I didn’t circle block 2x and end up walking around and asking at the TMobile on the corner. I could have excused all that if the cake was good. I eat GF all over the world due to a daughter with celiacs. This was one of the worst I’ve had. The outside of cake was beautiful & they wrote on it what I requested. Strawberry filling was also really good. Frosting was good too. But the cake itself was dry, odd tasting, odd colored for a vanilla cake. I hate to review a local business poorly but I wish I had gone elsewhere for my dad’s 90th bday cake. And maybe this review can save someone else the $ and experience
What a gem! Carrara's is an Italian dessert shop that also specializes in gelato and coffee/tea. There's a parking structure in the back, and the first 90 mins are free. Ambience was nice, and I loved their black and gold themed decor. Will definitely be inviting the girls to meet here and catch up over sweets.
Here's what we ordered:
An iced latte, a yogurt strawberry cake, and a trilogia cake.
The yogurt strawberry (4/5) was so fluffy and airy. I loved that it had the right amount of sweetness (not overly sweet), and with a good hint of acidity from the yogurt. It reminded me of Japanese sponge cakes. As for the trilogia (5/5), it's more of a chocolate texture than a cake. It's made with 3 different kinds of chocolate (dark, milk, and white chocolate with Bavarian cream) you def can taste the quality. Very delicate! Bonus points, it's gluten free. So good!
The only/biggest complaint would be the coffee (3/5). I'm not sure if it was the almond milk or what, the coffee tasted a bit watered down to me. But it's not gonna stop me from coming back. I enjoyed the cakes.
Wished they included the savory dishes like their Moorpark location so I could try those as well. I recommend this place!
We have been fans of Little Flower for years and couldn’t imagine anyone else doing the desserts and cake for our wedding. We had a dessert bar for our guests and a smaller, two-tier personal cake just for us as the bride and groom. We met with Stephanie at the Little Flower location and got to sample the cookies and other desserts that we wanted. She provided great ideas of a variety of types of desserts (gluten free, chocolate, fruit, etc.) for the dessert bar.
We worked directly with May to create a custom two-tier cake (see photo) with whatever flavor combinations we wanted and she utilized our colors and design to create a beautifully elegant cake. Not only did it look amazing, but tasted fresh and delicious as well as all of our desserts. Their prices were very reasonable for a 100-person wedding and I definitely would recommend using them for any type of event.
The food and the overall restaurant is 5 Stars! I think we would have enjoyed ALOT more if we weren't in the middle of a heat wave here in LA because the seating is all outside and it got hot really quickly..but any other time this would be a great option for lunch! We came for brunch and the breakfast options DID NOT disappoint! I got the spinach and feta omelet, and it was so good! Everything is pretty much priced close to $20 a plate, but the food is worth it, and the portions are generous. I saw a lot of people getting the breakfast burrito, so it must be one of the more popular menu items. There's alot of parking behind the building. Also many gluten free options.
