Pro’s: Great options for Celiac Disease + good GF bread. Coffee keeps flowing, it’s $5 for unlimited self serve. Central location next to Capitol.
Con’s: Slightly underwhelming portions. Lox bagel does not come with cream cheese. Not a ton of unique / strong flavor for an $18 meal.
It generally felt like a restaurant that used to be charming in its origins but has commercialized.
My home-base Cafe Patachou. Much too conveniently located near my home. It's hard to eat out and eat healthy. I love to get the chicken salad sandwich on gluten free toast and sub out chips for arugula. So yummy and I swear it has restorative powers.
I am an admitted Cafe Patachou addict... but I swear their chicken salad sandwich has restorative powers! And only place in town I know of you can get gluten free waffles!! 💙
An update after my visit: despite noting that I have an allergy and needed the gluten-free pancakes, I was served pancakes with gluten. Through sheer luck, I commented on a separate allergy-related issue, and a new staff member (not the one who took my order) got confused and asked "You do realize these have gluten, right?". They prepared a new, safe, order quickly, but it was concerning. I recommend that those with allergies place their order through a manager, and have the manager double-check with the kitchen that they read the order correctly.
I haven't even been here yet, but I already love them due to their commitment to safe gluten-free food for those with Celiac and other severe medical responses to gluten. I'll update this review after I eat there this weekend
Loved this little sandwich shop. The gluten-free bagel was so good, it made me so happy to find a great place for a quick bite with gluten-free options! Next time I’m passing through again, I will definitely be stopping by!
We really enjoyed the jerk chicken wrap and the BBQ chicken salad, and left with some delicious desserts!
Tons of gluten-free options, and it was great meeting the owner and her family.
Reasonably priced food for ths atmosphere and food presentation/freshness. It was really good. The bacon was so yummy. They also have gluten free bread!
I love coming here. The food is great- I can’t help but get the baked oatmeal every time. The baristas are so peppy and kind. The coffee is solid and the seasonal drinks are always changing so you can try something new. Quite a few gluten free baked-goods options.
This is an amazing coffee shop! The atmosphere just says community. It is a great place to work, study, or meet friends for a great cup of coffee.
AND … they have something gluten free for the guy with Celiac Disease. Another win!
I highly recommend this coffee shop and it’s my go-to place when I’m in the area.
This is fantastic ice cream. They have allergy friendly options and label their ice creams so you know what's available. Great location, lots of options, friendly staff. I think out of all the gluten free / vegan places we have tried this one is the best.
Cake was my favorite growing up and I hadn’t been there in ages. I stopped in yesterday to pick up a pastry and I got the Marie Antoinette. Oh my goodness it was absolutely delicious. The fresh raspberries with the rose were perfect. I’d already checked out when I saw a gluten-free cake option- will definitely be back to try! It makes me so excited to see more and more gluten-free options!
I found this little hidden gem in Castleton this morning. Great atmosphere, customer service, drinks and pastries for VEGANS. I tried their seasonal Strawberry Matcha Latte and Oatmeal Cream Cookie. Which both were AMAZING!!!! Homemade strawberry syrup for the matcha latte with oak milk and the homemade oatmeal cookie that is vegan and gluten free.My new go to spot!
I've gotten a few really good gluten free cakes from them in the past, but last week I called twice and left messages with no call back. And this week I've tried calling several times and no one answers the phone.
I ordered the vegan crab cake and it was so delicious. The staff was friendly and I enjoyed chatting with her. I love that I can find a place that is not only vegan but also has gluten-free options. I felt safe eating there with my wheat, soy and dairy food allergies.
I had the grits which were absolutely delicious, vegan and gluten free at the recommendation of our lovely server Spencer. Thank you for making our visit perfect!
I just loved this place. Sadly I don’t live near here, we were just passing through for the holidays. But this place is so cool.
The food was amazing, so flavorful and reasonable prices for being healthy. Dairy free options, vegan options, and gluten free. I got the rainbow salad with this amazing salad dressing I think they make there, I just loved it.
The employees were very nice and helpful, I kept having to ask questions, but they still remained kind!
My only complaint is that they Don’t have a phone number to call. I had to call the rock wall company that it’s in the building to ask about the cafe.
A yummy new to us place we tried out last week for brunch when we were in Indy.
Everything we had was delicious but the acai bowl and rose apothecary drink were my personal favs! My husband had the salmon Hash, our daughter had the BLT which had a fried egg + avocado on it and I had the B Ripp Burrito. We also got the Acai Bowl it had housemade cashew granola on it , it was so good and rly made the bowl. As well as the Blueberry hotcakes which came with fresh blueberries, to all share and try. Literally everything was delicious. I saw other people's food around us and I do not think you could go wrong with anything you had. We will definitely go back because there were other things we would like to try
The place was in a really neat fun area, all the staff were super friendly, welcoming & knowledgeable. Overall it just had a rly good cozy vibe. I wish I had felt better so we could've explored the surrounding area some.
I really love that they had locally sourced food from small + local farmers, fresh cold pressed juices and used the best quality (& organic) ingredients when possible. There were options for everyone gluten free, vegetarian and vegan. So very inclusive.
Overall food + experience was a 10/10.
Oh I almost forgot we got a flight of fresh juices to try as well and they were all really good. You could tell they were freshly made and pressed.
Edit: the last 3 photos are for a different place but I cannot figure out how to delete them. Sorry for any confusion.
#4 Indianapolis Addition
This the Spot!!!
You know how I feel about Coffee and we have been impressed by what Indianapolis has to offer. But, Provider Coffee hits different!
Provider Coffee is what Starbucks tried to do a few years ago. Offering breakfast, lunch, coffee, beer and wine, in an ultra laid back setting. Exposed brick interior with high top tables and awesome music is just the beginning of this gem. A self Serve pastry case with a variety of unique pastries is the first thing to great you. Massive Almond Croissants, Pumpkin, Orange, Cream Cheese Muffin(Yes, all that in 1 muffin) among others, all for the picking.
Smiling faces that not only greet, take your order and make recommendations, but th3 staff also make it a point to be engaging with each guest. It truly makes you want to linger for awhile. Then, there's the COFFEE!! Specialty coffees like Pistachio Rose Water are just the tip of the iceberg. Along with traditional coffee offerings, teas, housemade Kombucha, seasonal Lattes, and a featured Latte! There is no way you can walk out of there without something!
Too hot to handle, too cold to hold; had a Butterscotch Latte that was curated like a cocktail! Espresso, steamed whole Milk, with butter, piloncillo, and a flaming orange. WHO DOES THAT!!! It was so good. Didn't get a whole lot if Butterscotch, but MAN!!! He also had a bacon breakfast Sammy with TONS of bacon, fluffy egg, cheddar cheese, and pepper jelly, on a Multigrain GLUTEN-FREE bread!!! It was a mirage of flavors that just warmed the soul.
The decaf tenderoni had their featured Latte which was Banana Demerara. When I tell you, it literally tasted like banana bread? Packed with warm spice, actual banana flavor, and a hint raw sugar. It was the best banana Latte I have ever had!
Provider is one for the books!!!
CHECK IT OUT!
Highly recommend the spiced chai! While Amelia’s has bread galore, they also have several great gluten-free options, which I appreciate. The staff is also always wonderful and kind. All around, a wonderful spot to spend an hour or two!
I am new to bouldering, but I love this place! So many routes to try for beginner climbers in Indianapolis. Great time and the cafe in the building is an added bonus. It has good gluten free food options!
I got take out so I can’t speak to the atmosphere or service, but I will say that it was super fast and incredibly delicious. There’s a unique variety of options and perfectly prepared. Gluten free toast was great - which is rare. The coffee was perfect - try the oat milk horchata cold brew! Even the jelly was special. Can’t wait to try more items.
Great spot for breakfast or brunch! The menu has a lot of variety (great gluten free options), and everything we tried was fresh and tasty. The portions were generous, and the service was friendly and quick. Convenient location with a nice, upbeat atmosphere.

Delicious experience at the coffee shop! Wonderfully house baked or locally baked goods offered daily. There are several gluten free options (a must for me) and very reasonably priced. Berry picking (and eating) with kids can be so much fun and this little farm tucked away in such an urban area is a rare find! The staff here are amazing and I couldn’t ask for a more convenient location. Support this business and local, fresh garden fruits and veggies as well as baked goods!
Food was really good. Service was kinda meh. And $5 for a single non refillable glass of orange juice is a little excessive. Gluten free bread was really good for gluten free.
Passed through Indianapolis on a road trip and made a 30 minute detour to visit this coffee shop. Well worth it! Don’t skip this place.
Mitchell greeted every customer like a regular and whipped up our order super quickly. The atmosphere, music, art, and comfortable and eclectic seating are fun and friendly. Even at just a glance it feels like the cafe is really down to earth and fully a part of the neighborhood.
Drinks and food are fairly priced and, most importantly, delicious. Vegan and gluten free options are plentiful. I had an iced oatmilk latte and salted chocolate chip cookie and my wife ordered a veggie hash burrito, all amazing. The salsa that came with the burrito is the best.
If I’m ever in Indianapolis again, I’ll be back!

Much needed local coffee shop for our community! The shop itself is clean and adoreable with the gifts/ locally crafted items inside for sale. Coffee is great, pastries looked delish, and the service from the ladies behind the counter is always top notch. They definitely make you feel like family. They remembered that I'm gluten free and said they would work on getting gluten free food options! Hope this coffee shop stays around for many years to come!
Great service with friendly staff! We found out that everything is certified gluten-free, so it's very allergen friendly as well. We got the Boba and it was very good and energizing! I will be back to try their crepes and pancakes!
What a refreshing little Cafe! I stopped for coffee (sumatra 10 out of 10), ended up getting a delicious, Gluten-free
lavender scone, and left knowing I am blessed. Thank you for raising spirits lovely baristas of God's Embrace coffee shop. ✌🏻💖🙏🏻🫂
Gluten free snack options and a good quality and variety of loose leaf teas. Nice quiet relaxing environment. Friendly helpful staff. I’m sure there’s more good things to say, but that’s what I was looking for today and I found it.
