We’re visiting town and chose this place based on the multiple, creative vegetarian and gluten-free menu options. I’m GF and my mom is vegetarian. Lovely, quiet coffeehouse with excellent atmosphere. Coffee was good, latte was great, but the gluten free waffle was inedible. I originally thought the dough hadn't been mixed enough, but when I complained I was told "that must be the sugar cubes." I've had liege waffles before and typically the sugar chunks are much smaller, not the size of a pea. And normally sugar is sweet. It's a shame because the toppings on my waffle were great and it's so good to see gluten free options. I just don't think the sugar chunks work with the gluten free mix they use.

The Lunch Box catered my sons college graduation party this month and we would highly recommend. The food was incredible and beyond what we expected. We had ordered various sandwich platters which came with incredible sides.
Many compliments from our guests on all of the dishes. The portions were perfect and everything was delectable. The fresh fruit was especially wonderful and we were pleasantly surprised by how flavorful the gluten free options were.
Ben was very easy to work with and so accommodating. We felt the price was very reasonable. We we definitely be ordering from The Lunch Box again!

TLDR: I wish I could comment on the food, but we never received it. They canceled our online order without telling us!
My partner and I traveled to Buffalo this weekend for a wedding. Traveling can be challenging because she has celiac disease. We found Owl Eyes Cafe and were so excited about the gluten free options. We placed the order online for pickup with an approximate time 45 minutes from when we placed it. As an aside, I called the restaurant 3 times before placing to make sure there were no nuts in the food. They never answered.
When I arrive to the restaurant, the staff told me they canceled our food order. They ran out of gluten free rolls, so they didn't make it. Which seems reasonable. They didn't make my breakfast sandwich because "the kitchen was confused and didn't want to make the wrong thing."
The obvious problem is 0% communication. They canceled the food order online without ever notifying us. The website says we would receive text updates, but I never did. It seems like basic decency to call. I took an Uber to get there and an Uber back. I wish we would've known.

In September 2023, I visited for the 1st time Overwinter's Genesee Street cafe. The barista was nice. Besides buying a bag of Easy Drinker beans (my fav), I tried a coffee I never had before. There are a couple of bar stools at the window and a couple of tables outside. The date energy balls were good (vegan & gluten free). I frequent other Overwinter locations.
Great place to study, cats are partitioned in another room but you can see them through the windows for those allergic, also they have gluten free pastries!
