First visit with my friend, which was vibrant and lively from the moment we stepped through the door. Every staff member was welcoming, helpful, and knowledgeable. My gluten intolerance was catered for beautifully with swap outs in the small plates food experience menu. The food was wonderfully presented and absolutely delicious. Our wine choice of a chenin blanc complimented all the plates. Highly recommend, and will return soon.
The food is great and it is appreciated that they have gluten free options. However and extra £3 for the GF bun is ridiculous. They should do like honest burgers and charge 0.30 or not even charge for the different bun.
Wow I just love this place so much! The food is absolutely amazing, some of the best brunch in Brighton & Hove. And the best service. Such a warm family run business. I felt very well taken care of. And such a relaxed peaceful atmosphere. A little gem of a place. Definitely a new favourite. I’ll be coming back regularly.
Ps I’m gluten free and the chef made me amazing gf french toast!
They have lots of gluten free options on their menu, a good variety and the food is fantastic! All the classic Thai dishes plus more! I said I was coeliac and they took it on board and everything was ok! A relaxed atmosphere with friendly staff.
We had some very tasty italian meals in a lovely environment. The pasta was fresh and the gluten free option was cooked well. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
We live nearby having moved last summer (2024) and have been here a few times now as a couple and with visiting friends. The food is nice and varied so good for those with different tastes. They catered for my mum with coeliac disease (gluten free menu), and had a veggie menu. Nice couple who own the place often there at lunch time. Fresh food. Recommended! Also they have a disabled access toilet upstairs which would have been helpful for my late dad with mobility issues.
Bit pricey, but it’s Brighton :)
Food was great, lots of Gluten Free options, cheery and efficient waiter, even though he was managing very short staffed for a while.
I came here for my birthday, lovely service and great with allergies. I am coeliac and there were many options available including delicious pancakes! The food was delicious and we were able to take home any leftovers. Would absolutely recommend!
I celebrated my 65th birthday here recently
And couldn't fault the evening esp with one of my party being gluten intolerant
The food was excellant and the staff produced a birthday cake for me (think it was provided by my friends) and joined in a turkish tape of happy birthday for me
An excellant evening and although not from the Brighton area , will def be back when l am in the area
We had such a lovely evening here!
After the most amazing margaritas ever we ended up cancelling our dinner elsewhere and so glad we did. Alastair and his team were so sweet and thoughtful, and the quality of the drinks and food was amazing. They were confident in dealing with my coeliac which was so refreshing - lots of gf options and wasn’t made to feel like a burden. Would highly recommend, let’s support this new business and lovely space in our community which supports v important buzzy bees! 🐝

Absolutely wonderful, my mother and I visited during our short holiday in Brighton. We took full advantage of the 2 for 1 deal on cocktails here and enjoyed mojitos and long Island iced teas. While we had hoped to have our lunch here, we were quickly informed that there was risk of contamination in the kitchen and so, due to my coeliac disease, we chose not to risk it. Still, we adored the drinks and the atmosphere more than made up for the food. The cats are friendly and sweet, especially the Turkish Angora, Eros! Highly recommend a visit, book a reservation if you can!
My first experience in The Ivy In The Lanes was amazing! We went for breakfast and was served by David. His service was 5 star. I am gluten intolerant and he went to so much effort to make sure the food was safe for me and still top class. Will definitely be returning.
Delicious fish and chips place right at the beach! It was good to have an option to order fish without batter aka gluten free version. The service is really good - our waitress/hostess Sam was absolutely amazing! Will definitely come back.
We did their Bottomless Roast (Sunday Funday) and it was brilliant! The food was outstanding, they accommodated gluten free requirements easily and without fuss and the service was jovial and fun. Unlike some bottomless brunches, these guys actually want you to drink! No watered down cocktails or slow service that restricts from having fun and making the most of your 2 hours. Our server was Bobby and he was great. Highly recommend 👍🏽 I recommend not booking bang on 12pm as you have to queue to get in because of COVID stuff and it does eat into your time a bit. Saying that, they didn’t push us off our table bang on 2 hours at all.
Brighton Cocktail Co has lots of gluten free options including flat bread pizzas and crepes plus more! They also have a dedicated fryer and great understanding of coeliac disease. To top it off the cocktails look amazing!
Went twice, 1st time we were late for breakfast but they still did my wife poached eggs on gluten free toast.
2nd time we got there in time for breakfast. Very good food.
It is an excellent location in the middle of the south lanes jewelry quarter.
Wonderful cafe. Service was brilliant. Had gluten free option and they happily obliged. Their in house baked beans are delicious. We had the breakfast and it was perfection. Cannot recommend this cafe enough. Thanks for a wonderful experience
