Spezia has always been one of our favorites. However, if I had to provide a rating based on our last two visits I would have given 1-2 stars. The food is very good and they have many gluten free options. Typically the service has been very good except for the last two times where we had the same waiter. Although he was a very pleasant boy, the first time I told him the meal had to be gluten free, yet he brought me regular pasta. This is a serious mistake for someone that has celiac disease. The second visit I reminded him to bring GF pasta, but he didn't bring our salad until after our meal. Both times he never checked on us until well after our meal was delivered and both times refills were slow even though they were not busy. Because we have always had good service in the past I'm only downgrading one star for now, but management needs to provide a refresher to their serve staff, especially when it comes to gluten.
Said they had gluten free options and the server asked me what gluten was. Not for the gluten free girlies. Also price wasn’t the same as the menus. Super cute place though.
They have things labeled as gluten free that are not. I have been sick for the last 12 hrs due to celiac disease. Celiac disease people beware, it was absolutely delicious but they gaslight you on the phone when you let them know that they gave you gluten and made you sick so that they don't get sued I guess. I had let my server know I have celiac. Very disappointing and I'm currently very sick from it
A Stellar Dining Experience at Plank Provisions – Omaha
If you’re looking for a restaurant that not only serves incredible food but also takes exceptional care of guests with dietary needs, look no further than Plank Provisions in Omaha. From the moment I walked in, the management and staff went above and beyond to ensure my dining experience was nothing short of perfect, particularly in accommodating my gluten-sensitive and other dietary needs.
I started with their Happy Hour Oysters, and they were absolutely divine—fresh, briny, and served with a selection of sauces that had the perfect balance of tang and heat. It’s clear that quality ingredients are a priority here, and they really set the tone for what was to come.
For my main, I had the Grilled Mahi Mahi Tacos, and they were nothing short of spectacular. The mahi mahi was cooked to perfection—flaky, tender, and bursting with flavor. The tacos were topped with a vibrant slaw and some included a tangy sauce that complemented the fish beautifully. And the best part? I could enjoy every bite without a worry, as the team at Plank made sure my tacos were prepared gluten-free, dairy-free, and egg-free, adhering to my dietary needs without compromising on taste.
What truly sets Plank Provisions apart is their exceptional service. The management and staff didn’t just accommodate my special requirements; they went out of their way to ensure I had an amazing experience. They were knowledgeable, kind, and made sure that I felt at ease with every aspect of my meal. Their attention to detail is second to none.
The gluten-sensitive menu itself is impressive. It’s rare to find a restaurant that doesn’t treat dietary restrictions as an afterthought, and at Plank, they truly excel in offering a variety of delicious, safe options that don’t sacrifice flavor or quality. Whether you have dietary restrictions or just appreciate great food, Plank has something for everyone.
Overall, my experience at Plank Provisions was nothing short of fantastic. Delicious food, stellar service, and a welcoming atmosphere make this place a must-visit in Omaha. I’ll certainly be returning soon, and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience—gluten-sensitive or not!

This is one of my favorite go to restaurants! The people here are always nice and quick to provide service. They not only have gluten free options, but an easily accessible way to access the gluten free menu. I highly recommend this restaurant.
A modern swanky intimate cider house. The ciders weren't overly sweet and had unique blends. It is a 100% gluten free facility, so we felt comfortable ordering (my husband is Celiac). Delicious food, but a touch expensive; however, we felt it was so worth it. There were also options with goat cheese. Service was a touch slow because there was only one person working front and back of house, but he was super great.
5 starts isn’t enough. Service was fantastic, food was delicious and incredibly accommodating for food allergies (gluten and dairy in my case). Would recomend this place to anyone travelling to Omaha.
I heard about Lyle’s from a friend who recommended it. The building is adorable in my opinion just for starters. It is very homey and clean with the floors sparkling. The pizza has to be the best one in Omaha. I’ve tried practically every pizza joint there is in Omaha except Tiny’s and Dolomiti. This place is relatively casual which I enjoy, but if you’re looking for something fancy you could still come here without feeling like you’re over dressed. I recently found out I am lactose and gluten intolerant so I was looking for a joint with at least an option for gf crust since I was going to take a lactaid I wasn’t to worried about the cheese , luckily Lyle’s had that option for me. I went in with my mom and a friend and we ordered some appetizers. I’m not a fan of pesto, but my mom (who’s a big foodie) loved it. My friend who was unsure about the pesto also loved it. We ordered our pizza with some gf crust, but sadly they were out :(. I still ate the pizza since I don’t have celiac disease and I just get some bad cramps with lactose and gluten and I’m so happy I did. This pizza blew my mind! It had goat cheese, arugula, and full garlic cloves which melted in your mouth. I was shook this pizza was beyond amazing and came really fast. Our waiter was engaging, but not to hovering. He recommended an amazing mock-tail to my mom which she loved as well. If you have any family or friends coming to Omaha BRING THEM HERE YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!! but side not if they are gf call Lyle’s before coming just to reassure they have what you need :).
