Busy little place. Had a great meal there but definitely felt the pressure to eat fast and get out of there with the line that was building outside. The food was pretty good, the staff seemed run off their feet and a little stressed, but still friendly. Coeliac safe!
Great friendly service from the staff with allergen advice understood.
Their fries are cooked separately to glutenous foods. Great gluten-free (vegan) buns. Our shared burger order was wrapped in individual halves, a nice touch. Burger, fries, onion rings and deep fried pickles (!) were all delicious. Staff Attentive and not intrusive. Fun colourful interior fit-out. And you can enjoy a nice wine with your meal as I have.
When my friend and I walked in to 30 Acres on a Friday morning , it was abuzz with lively patrons . We were seated immediately and offered a choice of sparkling or still water by a friendly server . It’s the little details like this that help give a good impression. ( and I much prefer sparkling water , especially on a hot summer’s day )
The menu was short and to the point , and most dishes had gluten free options- and they also offered a small juice menu which looked interesting.
I ordered the potato doughnut ( which unfortunately came with bread as it’s not gluten free ) but I was told that beforehand so was prepared. It had the addition of pineapple salsa , which I could smell as it was put down in front of me . What could have been a basic bacon and egg toastie was elevated with the taste of the pineapple and addition of the haloumi and chorizo, which gave it a peppery taste .
The relish on my friend’s bacon and eggs was amazing- I had a taste after she insisted . They really should bite and sell it .
The watermelon mojito that my friend and I both ordered was amazing - just right for the heat of the day . The initial sweetness of the strawberries with watermelon undertones and the aftertaste of mint - I wonder if they do this in a cocktail because the taste was on point .
This place has an open plan kitchen and an in house bakery where they bake their sourdough and fruit bread - as well as some pastries . We ordered a gluten free orange an almond cake to take away later and some iced lattes- which was a nice bold well roasted coffee with no butter aftertaste ( but I forgot to ask what it was - I’d be interested in the answer )
Apparently they also do gin cocktails in the evening and they did have a quite impressive range of South Australian gins so it would probably be worth a trip back .
The only let down for me was the noise level , as high ceilings echo ( and there probably wasn’t any sound proofing) but that is my personal preference. This place was also visually appealing and we were both impressed with the artistic lighting , comfortable bench seat and custom made rounded front counter it reminded me a little of an Art Deco speakeasy .
Lovely overall experience.
WARNING FOR FOOD ALLERGIES!!
Was there for dinner on a Saturday night with a group of people. Would not recommend if you have food allergies as they were dismissive, rude and uneducated. Was told by a staff member that she could not speak to the Chef regarding an allergy order and a gluten free order as he would get mad! WHAT?!!!!!
This kind of service is completely unacceptable and if I was there with just my girlfriend we would have walked out. Our order was for 2 bowls of gluten free pasta, one came out but the other never made it to the table, then we were told they had run out. So we had to reorder one meal when everyone else was eating. Needless to say I will not be back. The caffe was overbooked and overcrowded like a train station with people coming and going. In fact, the staff could not hear what you were saying because of the noise level. The food wasn't great and the service was average. Tip., go somewhere where you are treated with respect.
Pretty decent food at a good price. Not the greatest gluten-free options, but they did have gluten free bread. Coffee was pretty good as well as the smashed avocado toast. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating.
I had a gluten free bbq chicken and wasn't blown away, especially for the price. The topping was nice, it just needed more sauce as it was all a bit dry. The base was disappointing, it reminded me exactly of the gf base from Dominoes if you have ever tried that. My friend had the Vietnamese chicken pizza (normal base) and said it was just fine however she loved the hot honey calzone thing.
Fresh tasting delicious food. Fantastic if you need gluten free as well. The Vietnamese spring rolls are worth the visit. Especially for a gluten free diner. So crisp!
Took the family out for lunch. Great selection of kids options (lunch and brekkie) and the brunch for the parents was top notch (we got the hash) and offered gluten free alternatives. Service is always great. Ate in the heated outdoor space.
I had an absolutely horrible experience here tonight! First of all the staff have no idea what they are doing and cannot read the room! Recieved the pasta after almost 45 mins, we ordered one gluten free one and one normal. The waiter gave the gluten free one to me and the gluten one to my friend who is allergic and claimed it was right. I knew straight away I had received the wrong pasta and they denied it. I waited 20 mins for someone to give us eye contact and look at our table so I had to get up myself and find someone! They said they would go ask the chef and Brought back and said you had the right ones but they changed the plates around and we said no this is not what is was before! They then apologised for being wrong. Ordered potatoes that didn’t come for almost an hour, asked where they were and no one came back to us for 15 mins!!! Told us that the order did not go through. Horrible staff, horrible place!!! Would not recommend. Clowns running the place.
This shop in Prospect is the perfect stop when I'm heading to Costco, and the Norwood location is great when I'm going to Aldi. They're both in such convenient & good spots. What makes this place really special is the open baking area where you can actually watch the bagels being made. The gluten free bagels themselves are absolutely delicious- soft, fresh, and full of flavour. I usually rotate between three favorite flavours, and today I went with No.3. It paired perfectly with their nutty almond latte. The coffee also here is surprisingly good.Highly recommend!
As someone who can’t eat gluten or lactose, this is my go to place to treat myself. There are plenty of gluten free/ vegan options in yogurt and toppings. I have finally found a place where I can get myself a really decadent treat that accommodates my dietary restrictions!! Love it.
Excellent service, remembered by staff, food greatly received, attention to the needs of the gluten free person!
Always reliable, and consistently good Italian food beautifully cooked and presented.
I visit every Saturday, either to the Norwood or Hutt street locations and every visit is perfect. The coffee is always great, the almond croissants are to die for and I dream about them all week. They have a good selection of gluten free options so you don't feel like you're missing out. They also have a monthly special croissant with some obscure flavour which is fun. Also, for such a busy place where the staff are always flat out, they are always friendly and the service is great. A must visit!
Decent burger joint and always has been in Norwood, leads all the stores in Adelaide. Food is good but doesn’t have the wow factor than it originally did. The menu has expanded well out of the usual menu zone having more items than needed on a burger joint. Great amount of options though for vegetarians and vegans alongside gluten free. Probably need more staff in the busier periods as it can get really busy
Had a wonderful experience at the Republic. For starters the waiting staff were amazing. Friendly, attentive and accommodating to my tables needs. The meals were most importantly delicious, with many enticing options for carnivores, vegetarians and gluten intolerant people alike. The meals were also brought out not long after we ordered, which was incredible given how busy it was (Fathers Day). I can highly recommend the share plates - my wife and I had four plates between us. We also had a large group, with everyone being happy with their meal. We will definitely be coming back! Thank you Republic!
Thank you for the delicious cake for my sons' birthday, Will!
It's gluten and nuts free, so we could eat the same cake with all the guests. The taste was so nice.
I would highly recommend to everyone!
