gluten free beware! I was waiting to write this review until I tried the pizza for a second time but I feel like I have to say something because the gluten-free crust has made me so sick twice now. There must be a ton of cross-contamination going on. I called the restaurant to confirm that it was gluten-free because it's listed as "gluten friendly" on all of the apps with zero explanation, which is a super weird thing to do to people who have food allergies . I have celiac and I know I'm assuming a risk when I order a pizza from a regular restaurant, but I haven't had a single issue in years. This pizza has made me so ill that I have been throwing up after both times. The only thing I can think of is that the crust isn't actually gluten-free. I'm always OK with restaurants that prepare gluten items, this isn't a problem I ever have at other restaurants and I have never had a reaction from a pizza restaurant , so something is suspicious here. my violent vomiting honestly makes me wonder if they're rolling the crust in a pile of flour. I know that or it's just one employee who doesn't give a shit because I've ordered at the same time on the same day for two weeks .Do not order this if you are gluten sensitive, or you have celiac because you will be paying for it the next day.
I have a gluten allergy and have always loved Burger’s Priest for their gluten free options. Today they told me they couldn’t give me a lettuce wrap, and told me their stern fries weren’t gluten free either. I have had north items at this location before with no problem. Very disappointed today with my plain fries for dinner.
Lots of Gluten Free options that does not compromise taste. The lobster spaghetti and GF ravioli dish were so flavourful. The stuffed olive was very good also.
Was there last night. Was charged at least $30 more than prices on website menu, food was ok but not as good as I remember from my first visit years ago. Then it seems we were also double billed taxes after requesting the bill be split 3 ways (seems split with taxes in, than she added tax again after the split?). Should have asked for the itemized receipt - beware. Service not great, had to ask for more injera and it was empty for a while (I needed gluten free), never checked if we wanted to order more to drink or dessert. They did refill our water when the pitcher was low.

First Impression: Cute spot for a lunch date.
Favourite: Peanut Satay.
Critiques: I went to Mandy’s in Montreal and was pleasantly surprised to find out there was a location in Toronto when I moved. We I went in I was a little disappointed to see they did not have some of the same menu options and they did not serve their smoothies in winter.
Bonus: Many healthy options that leave you full. In addition, the staff at this location is very very friendly.
Take Away: If I am in the area I may drop by again if I am craving a salad.

Our reservation was at 8:15, we got there on time but we weren’t seated until 8:50 and then our first course didn’t come out until 9:15. So an hour delay that set us back on our plans for later that night. I made this reso 3 weeks in advance too, not sure why there was such a delay. We didn’t finish dining until 11:30, even when we had to ask for the last 3 courses to come at once so we’re not late to our next plan. The waiter was very kind and they gave us a complimentary Prosecco on the house for the delay. Also should mention it’s very kind of them to make gluten and pork free accommodations easily, really appreciate that from them. The servers were the saving grace that night.
The tasting menu itself was mediocre, and I’m saying this from a flavour profile perspective, there was nothing extravagant about the creations and no depth to the taste, with the exception of the small bites and lobster. The short ribs were delicious but it’s paired with broccoli and mashed potatoes, like I can find this anywhere in Toronto, can we atleast make it cooler than just that. Not to mention the same mashed potato pure that was used on at least 3/8 dishes. I was expecting a little more from a tasting menu at an almost $200 pp price point.
The environment was super pretty. The ambiance, not so much, really loud group of casuals next to us when we’re trying to have a nice quiet and intimate dinner, def not a romantic environment as I unfortunately understood it to be. The table setting was very cheap looking, the glass cups were extremely ugly I’m not sorry for being picky about this because this is all things the manager should consider when designing an experience. No table cloth on its cheap-looking wood table that’s wobbling around. That just ruined the fine dining aspect for me. Some of the tableware was VERYYY pretty and other times it looked like something from Walmart or Dollarama, like the water cups.
Overall would not recommend this tasting menu to my friends, I’ve seen WAYYY better at a cheaper rate such as DaNico.
Pizza Pizza is a great option for affordable and quick meals. They offer a good variety of toppings and customizable options, including gluten-free and vegan choices. Delivery is usually fast and reliable, though the quality can vary depending on the location.
Decided to walk into this restaurant recently & had a great experience.
The server was very knowledgeable regarding allergies. I mentioned my gluten & dairy one and he didn’t hesitate to go through the whole menu with me to show me which items they could accommodate.
We ordered the potatoes, octopus & Eggplant dip. The dip was sweeter than what I was expecting. The octopus was delicious, I wish the portion was a touch bigger, & the potatoes were very crispy & well seasoned.
I had walked past and noted how great the food smelled at lunch service and decided to bring my mother and aunt (gluten free, dairy free and a vegetarian!) to try their dinner service. When I asked about gluten free/dairy free options the staff were amazing and broke down on the menu what would be safe and what wasn’t able to be changed. The food was delicious, we particularly loved the seasonal hummus (Ontario peach hummus) and the modded broccolini muhammara. We tried 4 different dishes and 2 deserts and were very satisfied with our food. Overall the staff were incredible with thoughtful service and the food was stellar.
I like this place. It’s cute and cosy and the service is really nice. They have a lot of gluten-free options as well which works perfect for my diet haha I had a nice time here I got the big breakfast and a cappuccino. 🩷
Cute little restaurant in the heart of Ossington area. The vibe and atmosphere transfers you somewhere in the Mediterranean.
Menu variety is good, with both veg and gluten free options. We got club sandwich and shakshuka for brunch, and the first was a top notch with perfectly crisp fries. As for shakshuka, it was okay. As for me too many tomatoes and too sour and too crisp baguette, in my opinion something more sweet and soft would suit better (pita or chiabatta).
Overall, recommend for a cute lunch or dinner👍🏼

This place has a fabulous vibe right from the get go! Decor is rustic & eclectic, & there's much to catch your eye....like trees! The menu has pasta (no gf) & pizza (gf/vegan options), accompanied by lots of drink selections. We ordered 1 gluten free pizza, 1 gluten/dairy free pizza, & one regular pizza. I have a load of allergies & the server - Ceci - was very accommodating & knowledgeable about what the kitchen could do for me. We were super impressed! All the pizzas were amazing (like the best gf pizza in the city imho) & my husband polished off the whole regular pizza himself it was so good! We can't say enough about Ceci (& Mark) as they really took good care of us! We highly recommend Bar Poet, especially for the pizza & beer special!! Can't wait to go again! PS - we were able to get a photo with no one in it bc we came in right at open on a mega snowy Monday!
