Our first time eating lunch at Souper Jenny, the food is very fresh, and mostly grown in their garden. They have gluten free menu and vegan items available. Dads turkey chili is delicious. We will be back.
I’m from Italy, and this is the only Italian restaurant at which I will willingly (eagerly) eat that I have found in the US. It’s on the pricier side but worth it. The atmosphere is great too - nice and also whimsical, with several cartoons of popes on the walls. My favorite is one of Pope Francis charging forward holding a rolling pin. I also really appreciate the gluten free options given that I cannot eat gluten. Bravi!
To say I’m underwhelmed is honestly an overstatement. I visited early on a Friday morning around 10am, expecting a full display of fresh pastries, but the case was completely bare. How does a bakery run out before the day even begins? 👀
I settled for a bakon, egg, and cheese croissant which was just mostly bread. 👀 To my surprise, none of the bread here is gluten-free, which feels out of touch in 2025. 🤯 The sandwich itself was mediocre at best: mostly bread, not much flavor, and somehow still cold in the center even after they “warmed” it.
And the price? Over $10 for a single pastry, plus an extra dollar in tax. Honestly, that feels criminal for what you get.
I’m highly disappointed. You can find better pastries and vegan optionsfor much less at Whole Foods or local Farmer's Market. Very overpriced bread.
The staff were super sweet but the experience left much to be desired and not enough to make me want to recommend or return. I won’t be coming back.
