We stopped at Turtle Leaf Cafe last week, following a visit with a friend who lives in Elmira. None of the tables were wiped down/clean. Our food took a long while to be served, and was abruptly placed in a stack on our table in take out containers. The server did not speak to us or try to give the orders to the correct customers. She rudely asked us if we were eating there. She said she wanted to close early, because she was having a bad day, We met other people there, it was snowing and we had nowhere else to eat. Our salad was missing ingredients including our protein, which we paid for. My wife's pita bread was stale. I was told they had gluten free bread, but ended up with lettuce wrapped around mysterious ingredients, not what I ordered. My brother in-law is vegetarian and he had meat in a very soggy pita, The carrots were dried up and inedible. Unfortunately we paid when we ordered. It was $69. for lousy food, there was 4 of us. The health department needs to close this place down!

They have dairy free ice cream, which was great for our dairy free family. The ice cream portions are huge in general, so even a small is very large. A medium is 3 large scoops, and the large must be 4 large scoops! Everyone was happy! They also have gluten-free cones available!
