Very tasty food, they adjusted the fish and chips for a celiac to seared, which wasn't quite what was expected since the breading would have been gf (masa).
This restaurant was very accommodating to my dietary restrictions. I have celiac and a severe shellfish allergy. They let me know what dishes they can make gluten free and shellfish free. They were very knowledgeable regarding allergies and food restrictions. My brother is vegan and was able to find something delicious. Great service, atmosphere, and delicious big portioned meals. Would highly recommend.
For the celiacs
They've got gluten free buns on the menu. The fries, however, are cooked in the same fryer as the gluten breaded stuff. Big thank you to the server who knows his stuff, but I am going to recommend you eat elsewhere. The gluten free bun was unfortunate and the side salad was sad.
To those of you who are not celiacs, do not mistake my review. The service was excellent. The other food may be good. I'll never know.
Food was delicious. We decided to go back a second time! I am gluten free, and there were many options for me to choose from. My non-gluten free husband enjoyed the food just as much as me!
Such a charming little cafe! The food was fantastic. I had the gluten free Le Suzette crepe and an oatmeal latte. Wow! So good. I'm a very sensitive celiac and they cleaned the griddle before cooking.
My wife and I chose Restaurant Beck because it was close to where we were staying on the coast for our first anniversary. We wanted a fine dining experience with a view, and Beck truly delivered!
It was a bit cloudy for us during our visit, but the view of the cove from our window seat was unbeatable. Even if you don’t get a window seat (earlier reservations are good) there’s a viewing deck you can enjoy while you wait for food or after you’re done with your meal.
We also presented a unique challenge to the restaurant staff in that my wife has a laundry list of allergies and intolerances: gluten, dairy, soy, tapioca starch, cranberry, legumes, broccoli, pineapple, banana, and more.
We told our waiter this as soon as we arrived. He spoke with chef Justin and he accepted our challenge and delivered the finest seven course meal we could have asked for. We highly recommend the wine pairing with either the five or seven course tasting menu, especially if you’re looking for a fine dining experience. Expect to be around for awhile if you choose one of these; our seven course odyssey through Pacific NW foods (fresh foraged mushrooms!) ended up keeping us until closing. The wines were varied and interesting and they elevated every dish. You don’t want to miss this place!
We want to thank Restaurant Beck for making our anniversary dinner very special. We’ll be back!
