Slippery Mermaid is always awesome. My wife and I have come here multiple times and the food is always extremely well prepared and fresh. The best part about it is that they are very good when it comes to gluten free options, which is helpful for us since my wife and some of our friends have celiac disease. Everything is made with care and we keep coming back because of that!
Im a fat guy from New york, and the food in the area has been sub-par (so much so that I've lost weight since I moved), however, this place is an Oasis in the desert. Our server Helen made sure we had everything we needed and was extremely sweet and charismatic, i needed to ask for nothing because it was already there. Diverse gluten-free options and the manager Stan overheard us talking about the gluten and brought us a printout of all the gluten-free free options on the menu. We felt very welcome, and we enjoyed the food greatly. This is now our regualar date spot, replacing the Greek diners of New York.
Hi-
I’m not one to normally write a review but I feel like it’s needed in this situation. I ordered the Gluten Free Oat Flour Pancakes which I got served cold and with a large piece of hair intertwined in it. When I brought it back up, I wasn’t apologized to and only offered to make another. I wasn’t a fan of it to begin with but having the hair added to it ruined my appetite for it regardless. Just was disappointed with how it was handled. Also, I went with 3 other friends and we were sitting at a large table with another group of 4 and we were specifically asked to go to the bar top table or somewhere else in the cafe. We said yes of course but then the “large” group came in and it was the same amount of people as us, 4. We were confused why we had to move when it was the same amount of people as us. My friend was still finishing her coffee from the cafe. I truly don’t like writing bad reviews but I was an excited customer and heard great things about Mediterra but wouldn’t drive 35 mins again to go there ever. I hope your experience is better!
The food was amazing. The gluten free pancakes were the best I've ever had! I will definitely bring friends and family back to try more from their extensive menu.
Absolutely love, love their Gluten Free options!!! I do not have celiac disease, I have an intolerance, so I can risk the possible cross contamination. If you are in the same boat GO GET SOME!!!
Great service and food! Will definitely be back! We enjoyed a large side salad (shared), chicken penne entree, crab cake entree (gluten free), oreo/reeses cheesecake and dark chocolate creme Brule' (gluten free) (desserts pictured).
First I have celiac and it’s difficult to find food sometimes but Goodfellas has a delicious cauliflower crust pizza. They also have great salads.
Sami Was our server she was attentive, had a great smile, was very friendly, and made sure to stop by each time. She passed to make sure we were OK.
I don’t drink draft beer or craft beer so I ordered a Cabernet And it went perfectly with my pizza.
The atmosphere is friendly,
The tables were cleaned, you could have a conversation and hear each other talking, which was important to me.
All in all a very good first time experience, I would definitely go back again, and I would definitely recommend stopping by enjoying some dinner, something to drink, and employees to take good care of you
I love to try new places and this place was a random stop on my wheel of wanting to try. They didn't have many Gluten Free options but they did allow you to get burgers without buns which is good. I tried the Hotel Smash Burger and the Steak Salad. It was shaved steak and the flavor was really good. I am not one to usually like blue cheese but this was actually really good. The balsamic dressing was really good too. And what other way is there go eat a salad without it Pittsburgh style with fries on top. The fries were PERFECTLY COOKED. I love a crispy flavorful fry and it was top notch. The burger was delicious as well it was cooked to perfection and the the caramelized onions were a really good pairing on top of the burger.
The margaritas were delicious I tried both the Valencia Orange and the Pomegranate and they were perfect portion sizes and I LOVED the cup it came in. They came in a terracotta vase looking cup that went well with the Western Aesthetic. It was a cute little place. Not a huge place but a cute place.
The server was super nice and friendly as well.
