I want to start by saying that the service provided by our server was absolutely incredible. They were attentive, kind, and quick. The restaurant itself was clean, we were seated promptly, and most of the food was delicious. However, my experience was overshadowed by how my dietary needs were handled.
I have specific dietary restrictions (no gluten or dairy) and made it clear that I needed my steak cooked in olive oil and my sides prepared plain. Unfortunately, the steak came out completely burned. I politely asked for it to be remade, and while the server promptly went back to the kitchen with the issue. A manager then came to my table and tried to explain that due to cooking my steak in olive oil it would come out “Pittsburgh style,” resulting in the charred appearance. My steak was not charred. It was completely inedible. Please see images of my steak vs. a “Pittsburgh style” steak.
I was shocked by this explanation and explained that I’ve had steaks at LongHorn and other restaurants cooked in olive oil before, and they’ve never been served burned or tasted that way. It felt dismissive of my concerns, and frankly, it seemed like an excuse rather than a genuine explanation. The manager then had the steak remade and it came out perfect.
They offered to let me take home the burnt steak and possibly feed it to my dog. I took it home and didn’t even feel comfortable feeding my dog portions of the steak.
While I appreciate the quick service and the efforts of the staff, I hope management takes this as an opportunity to revisit how dietary requests are handled and also not try and combat the customer. This situation could have been handled better.
Simple. Quick. Yummy, without the full guilt of most fast food places. Only drawback was how expensive it's gotten. $20 for two ppl (and we shared a drink & fries!) With no leftovers. Next time we don't feel like cooking we'll probably thick twice. But, i give them props for having options that are dairy free and gluten free.
I love everything about this place l. The food the service and the atmosphere 100%
So happy for the gluten free fries and the gluten free meat options!
I love living so close to this place, because they’re simply the BEST! First of all, their gluten free pizza is absolutely amazing. I was told to try them when I moved here, and I’m SO thankful because I instantly found my pizza spot! Secondly, they’re reasonably priced (this seriously shocked me when my gf pie was rung up, as I was expecting to pay an arm and a leg). And finally, the people who work there are the best! Absolutely LOVE Janis! She’s made special dishes for me (Buffalo fries) and took the time to talk to me when I went to pick them up. On her recommendation, my friend and I went to eat in so I can try their Davinci fries. Honestly I was sort of nervous, as I don’t prefer potato wedges but I was BLOWN AWAY!!!! These were the BEST potato wedges I’ve ever had, and I’m SO glad Janis recommended this 😋
The only thing I’d ask for is a GF pasta option, but with these three dishes I mentioned above, I’ll still be back a lot.
And did I say I’m so glad to live close? 🤣
Was told you could not substitute gluten free pasta in for pasta special, even if it was for allergy/celiac disease. Unfortunate that they are not accommodating to allergies.
Went here today for Mother’s Day as someone with a new severe gluten allergy. I have been so afraid of dining out since my new health diagnosis and multiple trips to the hospital but the manager Louis was so attentive and supportive to ensuring that my food and drink were all triple checked and that any substitutes were made. Really appreciate you Louis!
Ordered the strawberry lemonade cocktail and a pizza on GF bread and both were good!
