Sprouts has quickly become one of my favorite places to shop! I was really impressed by the wide variety of healthy food choices they offer. From fresh produce to gluten-free snacks and non-GMO products, they make it super easy to find clean, wholesome ingredients. It’s clear they put a lot of focus on quality and health-conscious options, which I really appreciate. It's definitely a go-to spot if you’re trying to eat better without sacrificing variety.
We just tried Kabob Guys in McAllen for the first time and they have a huge vegan menu and gluten free stuff and I gave them a list of my husband's food allergies just to make sure that they didn't use any of those things and guys... OMGOODNESS... it was so so so so so so so so good!! I had no idea vegan food could taste so amazing! It was super hot and we ordered it spicy and it was the perfect heat where your nose gets runny but you don't get the hiccups lol so so so good!! Wonderful prices wonderful service! Super happy!
Excellent food. Great service. Very knowledgeable and friendly server. Fantastic gluten free pizza! (Celiac not a preference). Several other gluten free options as well.
This place is amazing! They offer gluten-free cupcakes every weekend! I was able to eat the most delicious and moist cupcake! I totally recommend it for celiac or gluten sensitive people.
Protein House has been my go to for post work out smoothies, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They have a ton of delicious gluten free options and are super friendly. The people who own the restaurant are always here providing excellent customer service and are the coolest ppl.
I looove the gluten free “Drag it through the Garden” pizza. My hubby gets the regular crust meat lovers. Two completely different types of pizza, one shared love for the experience. One note, I’d eat in. The pizza is noticeably better in a good way, when not boxed. Eat in for the full experience. Take home for a much better pie than you’ll find elsewhere.

FitGrill is an amazing meal prep restaurant that I highly recommend. The food is always fresh, delicious and perfectly portioned. The menu offers a variety of options including low-carb, gluten-free meals. I especially love the lean protein options, like the grilled chicken and fish. The restaurant uses high-quality ingredients and the flavors are always on point. The staff is friendly and accommodating is always on time. The prices are reasonable and it makes healthy eating easy and convenient. Overall, FitGrill is a great option for anyone looking for convenient and delicious meal options.
Everyone there super nice but the pasta didn't meet my taste buds like most pasta dishes and I gave it to my girlfriend. Maybe I was too excited at finding a gluten free restaurant.
Such a cute and cozy place for brunch! The variety of desserts are delicious! Matcha brownies! I love that they have vegan and gluten free options. Love it here !
I have been waiting for a new location closer to me to open in Edinburg, but today, I really was craving beignets and was over in McAllen, so I stopped in.
I did not buy anything other than the beignets, but I've heard from family members that PJ'S coffee is very good.
I have had beignets at Café DuMond in New Orleans and at Coffee Call in Baton Rouge (both are considered the best), and while these were smaller, they were excellent. I am so happy we finally have a place in the RGV where I can find decent beignets.
The restaurant is very nice, with pleasing, beautiful decor, positive vibes, and comfortable places to sit, study, work, or just chill and enjoy friends.
Everything was quite clean, orderly, and the service was friendly and prompt.
The prices are competitive with similar coffee places.
Next time I'll order a coffee too. But since I live in a household whose diet is heart smart, sugar-free, fat-free, and gluten-free, the beignets were a little bit of heaven today.
All star visit today!!! I have to eat only gluten-free foods and this place accommodated my needs deliciously!!! I had the vegan portobello mushroom filling on a gluten-free crepe and it was a WONDERFUL treat for someone who usually has to give bread products a hard pass!!! TOTAL DELICIOUSNESS whether you are eating a regular sweet or savory crepe OR going gluten-free!!!
Last night at Espana was a MESS. My wife and I were looking forward to eating here due to it being be our first date since having our baby, additionally we have always had a good overall experience from previous visits.
First of all, we get there around 6:45PM and get seated without incident. Once seated, the waiter took awhile to get to our table to get our drink order (one of themes of the night). By the time the waiter showed up, we were ready to order pretty much everything (drinks, appetizers, and entrées). After we place our order, my wife gets her mixed drink about 10 minutes after our order. I ordered a glass of wine, which took about 20-30 minutes to receive after our order. We got our food close to an hour after we ordered. One thing we noticed was that other tables around us were getting visited by their waiter quite often. Our waiter would check in with us about 1 out of every 3-4 visits compared to the other waiters.
Now we have received our food. Our appetizer was missing, which never came before our entrees. We asked the waiter to remove the appetizer from our tab. Our waiter proceeded to give us an explanation that there was a glitch in their iPad ordering system, which after some time, he realized had to order everything verbally and from memory. He stated that is why it took so long to get my glass of wine. My wife has a gluten sensitivity and one the things she was most excited for last night was the gluten free (GF) pasta. When she got her pasta dish, she had a few bites and realized something was off. I called over the waiter and ask if the pasta was GF. The waiter said yes, then did a double take, and sprinted off to the kitchen. We he came back he told her it wasn’t and referred back to the ordering glitch. He took the plate and said they would remake it. At this point, a floor manager wandered to our table and asked how the evening was going. My wife’s unenthusiastic response prompted the manager to ask further questions, which we told her about the GF issue. She offered us the mistake pasta dish, on the house. During our conversation, our waiter came up to her to let her know of some issue going on. She said she would be back to talk to us, but that never happened.
It took the kitchen 45 minutes to bring out my wife’s replacement dish. At that point, we ordered dessert and a to-go plate once we got the food because we didn’t know how long they were going to take. Not surprising, it took quite a bit of time to get our dessert (creme brûlée) and to-go order of fries. It also took awhile to close out our check because the waiter 1) didn’t check up on us consistently 2) he put items on our ticket that we didn’t order. To end the evening, our waiter proceeded to apologize to my wife for the poor experience, which he then proceeded to laugh it off like it’s a joke. We didn’t leave the restaurant until almost 10PM, and that isn’t because we chose to take our time.
In summation, the only saving grace of the night was the food, despite it taking so long to get. My wife and I consider ourselves to be understanding and patient people. I work in the foodservice industry and I try to be empathetic to kitchen issues, but last night was inexcusable. Espana’s service was completely lacking. Their service recovery was non-existent. I hope they take this criticism as an opportunity to improve their service.
My family and I received excellent service here. They were able to accommodate a person in our party with a gluten and dairy allergy without any issues. They have a gluten sensitive menu available upon request. There were no issues with cross contamination during our visit.
My wife and I came here for our wedding anniversary dinner. My wife is celiac, so I had called in advance to make sure there would be gluten free options for her. They were very accomodating. The manager (Ken) even went to buy gluten free pasta and bread that afternoon to make sure my wife had options. Moreover, the food was amazing! We will for sure come back to try the other items on the menu.
Being Gluten intolerant they had items on the menu just for me. Our server Katelynn was outstanding and helpful at making sure my food was safe and removed a drink that didn't taste good. I will be back again soon.
