Yesterday was our second time in the restaurant and the food and our experience was even more memorable than our first time a few years back. This time we decided to sit in a booth at the bar area vs. at the dining room to celebrate my birthday. The design of the place is very cool with the old jail cells adjacent to the spacious and comfortable booths and huge chandeliers hanging from the ceiling above the bar. My husband ordered a special cocktail; I had a nice glass of Pinot Grigio. For my meal I ordered the Grilled Faroe Island Salmon served with luxurious sweet corn pudding, asparagus and heirloom tomato jam from the special menu. This dish was so exquisite and full of flavor, I really wish the Marketplace kept in on their regular menu. My husband ordered the Tempura Shrimp Bowl, that was also good and pleasing for the eye but the rice at the bottom could have used a bit of a sauce or dressing as it was a bit dry at the end. Overall, we had a five-star dining experience, with amazing food, great service, helpful waitresses and a very good bartender. The selection of gluten free food is incredible. We will definitely return very soon as this is our new favorite dining spot in Litchfield.
I've come all the way from Storrs in eastern CT for this place, three or four times.
However.
This past time may be my last.
I have never been questioned as to why I ask for a table for four, even though it was my party of two when the dining room had PLENTY of empty tables. I have orthopedic issues and shouldn't have experienced the waitress questioning me "incredulously"..."You need four seats for two people?"
Umm. Yes. For ortho reasons I shouldn't have to explain.
I also shouldn't have had to deal with SAME waitress scoffing audibly when it became evident I do try to avoid carbs like rice or pasta. Really? Was my request for mixed greens instead of rice as a base with my ahi tuna so difficult?
I was told "no substitutions" and got an attitude.
Anyone who modifies gluten or carbs, stay away.
Baked seafood with mashed potatoes and vegetables! It was delicious. Bread crumbs on top was part of the dish but because I’m gluten free they topped it with GF panko, perfect!
Be sure to make reservations on peak days & times: this place has excellent food from pizza to fine dinning options. Gluten free friendly. It was so busy on a Friday evening we could barely turn around in the parking lot to pick up food, no spots available @ 6:30 pm
Stopped for a small lunch for two on a Friday afternoon. A simple menu with vegan and gluten free options. Our server Andy was helpful and graceful and the host, at the time, made sure to check up on us whenever it was convenient.
Great takeout spot in Litchfield. You can order in person or online and they will text you when the order is ready. Had a delicious gluten free quesadilla with avocado, vegetables, and of course cheese.
They also have cute picnic tables outside.
I’ve been going to SG for years, but I’ve never been one to leave reviews. Because of my breastfed daughter’s allergies, it’s nearly impossible to eat out at a restaurant because I hate being a pain (Soy/Gluten/Dairy/Egg free). SG happily accommodated and made me SUCH a delicious meal!!
Bohemian pizza and tacos is a fun, cool, hip restaurant that offers really good food and prompt, attentive service. We stopped in for lunch and had the shrimp tacos which were flavorful and chock full of large tasty shrimp. We also opted for a burger and a gluten-free bun with a side of fries. The fries were delicious. The gluten-free roll was perfect, not overwhelming and the burger was cooked to perfection. Well worth a stop into this fun spot in Litchfield for some solid food and a good solid dining experience
Quaint pizza spot on the Litchfield green. They put "love" into their food, and you can see all the seasonings on the pizza too. They DO have a gluten free (small only) option for pizza, even though it's not on their menu or website. The staff is very pleasant and they do offer local delivery on weekends only.
