HONEY MUSTARD & BBQ NOT GF!
Really good food!! I got the chicken tenders with ranch which they said was GF. Staff seemed knowledgeable & I feel safe eating here as a celiac although it’s not a dedicated GF restaurant and they do have gluten options in house. They take a break to switch between breakfast & lunch service starts at 11:15. Thank you!! I’ve never had such tasty & safe airport food. Just ask questions.
Flying out of ATL weekly has given me the time to figure out the places I like to eat and the others I stay away from. One Flew South was always my go to for food because the food is quite good, from the sushi to the smash burger with fries. Unfortunately, the last two visits were miserably with service. From the host being rude because I didnt want to sit at the bar and then seating two groups that walked up after me, to the server rolling his eyes at me because I asked if something was gluten free and then couldnt have the courtesy to say anything after I said thank you and that I hoped he had a good night. I ask for very little because I have both worked in the restaurant industry and currently train people on customer service/experience.
Even though the food is good, I dont plan to go there again due to service alone. Hopefully management can work with their staff to create a better experience for future guests.
Note: I have Celiac disease so I can’t eat gluten.
I used the Find Me Gluten Free app to look for a safe meal option at the airport, and was baffled with the amount of reviews of people getting sick from the restaurant options in the terminal I was at (Terminal T). Thankfully, Terminal A is right next door and with a slight flight delay I was able to hop over to Shake Shack as that seemed like the safest place based on reviews (PF Changs is also in Terminal A!). A lot of the reviews said they handed you the burger clearly marked as GF, but that was not my case (I ordered the cheeseburger, with avocado). I asked the guy who handed me my food to confirm the bun was GF and he said it was, so I went on blind trust. Before ordering I read that their fryer is not dedicated to fries, so I did not have fries. They also disclose on their site that the shake shack sauce does not contain gluten but it is made in a place that processes gluten, so to be safe I opted out of it and just asked for ketchup and mayo. Thankfully the blind trust paid off after thoroughly reading up through the reviews here to know what was off limits, and I did not get sick!
Traveling through on a Sunday morning. The service was excellent. Super friendly and attentive staff. The Shrimp and Grits were some of the best I have had. Definitely recommend. They do have gluten free options but somewhat limited on variety.
Nobody really wants to be struck in an airport long enough to want some sit-down food, but this stop was exactly what we needed. Our waitress was top notch! She memorized our orders and didn't mess a single detail up, then took care of another detail that I forgot to ask for (I'm a celiac-she took care of no croutons when I forgot to mention it). This space was right where we needed it and the best little stop. I'm grateful for the time we had here!
Thank you so much, Nica, for your incredible kindness and professionalism, and also to the chef 👩🍳 ✨️ for my delicious gluten-free meal.
Good luck coming soon 😗
