Burger shed had a separate Gluten-free menu. We all ordered from that menu as one in our family is Celiac. Food was great, gluten free buns were nice and was not charged extra for gf. It would be nice if they had a dedicated fryer for french fries, though. Celiac kids want fries too.
Our first visit, was recommended to me for the gluten free options. Pleasantly surprised by the number of choices, including sides. We opted for the pulled pork nachos - the highlight of the dish was the smoked meat and homemade salsa - both were delicious!! Unfortunately the nachos came out 1/2 heated and had to go back to bake a bit longer (think that might have dried them out and burned the chips).
Service was great!
The Altoona location treats us well. We have celiac disease and a dairy allergy, and this location takes the greatest care possible. Thank you, Team Altoona!
Nolan with Fireside Grille is an excellent individual to provide a catering service. He provided a wedding email for 250 people, including a gluten-free meal. Many compliments were provided back to us with great taste and quality. I have already recommended his service to others I know in need of catering, and I will continue to do so in the future. He is definitely worth a “5 star review”. Thank you, Nolan!
Tried to order a bowl, as I have celiacs and cannot have the tortillas. Watched a chunk of tortilla fly into the rice, and when I asked them to use the unopened rice, they refused, said there was no tortilla and gave incredibly small portions for everything else. Cross contamination is a serious issue and now I can’t eat this bowl that we paid for, for risk of irreversible intestinal damage because the girl didn’t want to lift a lid.
Amazing food!
We casually mentioned that my significant other was allergic to gluten and beef and they promptly and without asking cleaned a grill for us. We also jokingly asked for a gallon margarita and she came back with the Mac daddy of all margaritas which must have been close to 1/4 of gallon made special and beautiful just for us! Lovely people run this place…thank you! :)
Libby our server, was awesome. She was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about items that were gluten free. Great food and drinks also. The rest of the staff was great too. Thank you.
Our server Chris was attentive and enjoyed his down to earth attitude as well as his knowledge of my need for a gluten free menu. The food was delicious, we left full, we will need to wait until tomorrow to eat.
This place is fantastic! Food is fast and delicious! We have some diet restrictions and they're spot on! Got a gluten free Hawaiian pizza that was out of this world! Prices are reasonable and the staff are top notch! Will be back!
For a place named Brick and Ivy *ROOFTOP* to only open the rooftop on the weekends was really misleading and disappointing. The patio outside didn't have seating because it was taken up with cornhole. So we sat at an inside booth. It was really Really warm, and there were moths flying around.
We had the stuffed mushrooms, pictured. They were really good! Then we got two orders of wings. I got the Brick and Ivy dry rub - it's just seasoned salt, not very impressive. And the gouchegan- just a tad spicy, but not enough to have a fire emblem by it. I think if they did a range like one fire is barely spicy and the more spicy wings could have more 🔥🔥🔥 that would be more helpful.
My husband got the kickin bourbon and teriyaki, also okay, nothing really special about it.
I had a margarita, it wasn't great. Then I ordered a cherry mule, also not great. I think the flavoring was just too artificial.
Our server was pretty attentive, so that was good. I'm sure it's a policy to have diners ask for more water, I know that's a thing in some drought prone places.
Total we paid $60, not including the tip.
I don't think we would return on a weekday, but maybe it would be worth it for the rooftop. Absolutely not worth it for the sweltering inside heat.
*They did also have gluten free pizza crust, for those wanting that.
