I tried (vegan) pozole for the first time at Corner Mexican. It was so good! They have so many vegan taco options that, unless you're extremely hungry (like, just ran a marathon hungry), you couldn't eat one of each in a single sitting. I love that their vegan options aren't all super-processed meat substitutes. They have all sorts of great options. It's the first place I tried huitlacoche and it was amazing. The only thing to be cautious of is if you can't do gluten or almonds. They openly state that their vegan menu isn't gluten-free (side note: I have no idea how veganism became associated with gf but it's annoying AF). I went there with someone who has an almond allergy (but not the life-threatening kind) and they were able to modify almost everything they wanted to try. I can't say enough good things about Corner Mexican in Grandview.

I decided to check this place out on whim because I live nearby and am moving soon. Trying to taste all KC had to offer before I move! I had a rice bowl of some kind, and I gotta say... it has to be one of the top two best meals I have had all year long. I have never had tomatoes that tasted so good. In fact, I didn't know I was a tomato person, nor a beet person for that matter. As a note for people with allergies: This eatery does not have many selections on their menu that are gluten free or dairy free. I'm pretty sure I ordered that only thing that didn't have gluten aside from their tomato soup, of which I did not ask if it was df, because it usually isn't. I was so thoroughly impressed however, that I will have to come back just for that rice bowl. Local ingredients really do make such a difference!
