I've heard rave reviews about Cucina and people aren't lying when they say this place is great! It's a beautiful restaurant with great atmosphere; perfect for date night. If you get a chance, choose a porch reservation - they have multiple heaters on the porch to make it comfortable even on cold nights. They had several gluten free options (even for dessert!). We ordered pretty much exclusively from the specials menu and everything was divine. Seriously, get the cheesecake for dessert. It was so good, I ordered it again the next night of our trip for pick-up.

It had been many years since my mother and I revisited the beloved old haunt, The Pub, where she and her wild friends once reigned over raucous political gatherings and danced until dawn at the Joyous Lake before stumbling home down Delisio Lane. Our recent visit was prompted by research for my memoir, and stepping into The Pub was like stepping back in time, evoking memories of my childhood spent wrestling with friends and spinning relentlessly on the old, worn bars of the porch balcony. The newly glassed-in patio offered a delightful spot to watch the street below. Manager and hostess June warmly welcomed us, exchanging stories of old school names and setting the atmosphere for a perfect walk down memory lane. Our server, the multi-talented Mark, whose family's roots run deep in the town, was patient, witty, and engaging, adding to the nostalgic charm of the lunch. Before we even delved into our meal, we treated ourselves to the fabulous Paper Plane cocktails, setting the stage for a memorable feast. The menu offered excellent gluten-free and vegetarian options, but as someone who seldom gets the chance to indulge in steamers, I savored every bite of the perfectly balanced butter, garlic, and crunchy bread, all complementing the tender seafood to perfection. We couldn't resist sharing the Spanakopita, and my mother, who claimed she'd only take a bite, ended up devouring her share. Fresh New England cod being a scarcity on the West Coast, we couldn't pass up the addictively delicious fish and chips. Basking in the sunny spot, we lingered over a gorgeous local Chardonnay until the sun began to set, reluctant to leave the warm embrace of The Pub's ambiance. Though my stomach wished for more room, I've already mentally bookmarked my selections for my next visit back east. The Pub's nostalgic charm, impeccable service, and delectable offerings make it a timeless gem that holds a special place in both my childhood memories and future culinary adventures.

I’ve been here twice, both times with the same waitress who was so condescending and rude. I went with different people both times both were so shocked at how terrible the service was. I have celiac and both times she brushed it off and told me I’m fine as if she didn’t believe me. Tonight I asked for my meal to be cooked closer to well and once again I felt like I was asking for too much from her. She passive aggressively let me know it would take longer, but when it came out it was actually raw. I sent it back (first time ever sending back) and when it came back edible she condescendingly asked if it was more to my liking. I was hoping one time was a fluke but I will never go back after tonight’s experience. Doesn’t matter how good the food is, when you’re made to feel like an inconvenience just by showing up it makes the whole experience uncomfortable and unemployable.

The only restaurant we routinely drive across two counties to visit. Excellent curation of complementary and contrasting flavors in all dishes, but of course we have our favorites: the dry-rubbed sliced steak with garlic fried rice, the astonishingly crispy gluten-free fried chicken, and the irresistible spring rolls to name just three. And the mango float cake to name four. And the new Tito Arnie drink…. Consistently excellent quality and value (tip included in pricing) and an uplifting staff/atmosphere are not to be underestimated and keep us coming back for more.
