As someone who is gluten free, this place was on my list to visit ASAP upon arriving in Hanoi. It did not disappoint! The gluten free pizza base was crispy and tasty, with a perfect amount and balance of toppings on the vegetarian version. Had an amazing meal at mate cafe. I have coeliac disease and they were able to cater well to this and were very well educated on cross contamination. I felt very safe eating the food because of this. The food was delicious and flavoursome and very reasonably priced. The owners were so kind, we had a great chat! We wish we could have come here again during our stay in Hoi an. Would definitely recommend coming here for authentic and tasty Vietnamese food. Particularly great to go if you are gluten free!!

This place really surprised us - the food here is really delicious! A huge selection of unusual dishes that we hadn't even thought about before, but they turned out to be very, very tasty.
A separate plus - many gluten-free options and incredible desserts. The portions are large, everything is fresh and filling. We ordered a banana cake - it was very tender, and also bruschetta, boli and falafel - everything is simply delicious.
The atmosphere was also pleasing: pleasant music plays, you can work on the computer, they serve delicious drinks. I especially liked the kombucha here.

We are Americans traveling Vietnam and the world. I have celiacs disease (an allergy to gluten) and many Vietnamese dishes are naturally gluten free but tonight we were in the mood for something different.
I saw, by reading reviews that gf dishes were marked on the menu of this restaurant so we walked over to it (a couple of miles).
We were greeted by such friendly employees and they were helpful ordering but the menu also states what’s gluten free.
Honestly, some people are ‘afraid’ to eat gluten free because they think it has no taste but that’s not the case! We shared a Greek salad for an appetizer (the portions are a good size) and I had chicken on a skewer and French fries and my husband had a country chicken dish with French fries and we were treated to some delicious dessert. I had white wine and my husband had beer.
The chicken was succulent and well seasoned and my husband said the same about his dish. The French fries were crunchy and good and we each had some small veg. The Greek salad was out of this world but more importantly I felt safe.. that wouldn’t be glutened.
Everything was delicious and we were so happy we went. The owner came over and introduced himself and was very nice. I strongly recommend you support this little restaurant. The owner is from Greece and it seems very authentic!

I did a cooking class here and I couldn’t recommend it more! I was greeted by a very happy and enthusiastic Laura who took us around the market which was amazing to see. Our chef Toan did a great job of showing us how to do each step and Laura was great at explaining everything and made sure we got photos along the way. I have a gluten allergy and it was no problem at all for them. I loved learning about the food and culture from Laura and Toan and really really enjoyed my morning. Finished around 1 so still time to explore the city too if you’re short on time - definitely plenty of food too

Could not be happier with out experience here. My wife got carbonara with gluten free pasta and said it was delicious. I got a pizza and it was the best I've had so far travelling around SEA and I've eaten a lot (believe me). Our server Tran was genuinely lovely, friendly and very attentive. We will be back!!
