This is long over due. We came on May 15 2024 and got excellent service from Chyna. She was very attentive to our needs, especially my wife's, who has celiac disease (a severe gluten allergy), as well as an allergy to shelf-fish and shrimp.
Thanks again, Chyna. Hope to see you again when we are down that way.
This place could easily be 5 stars. Need better employees that are welcoming and have customer service skills. Tables are quite small and wobbly fix. Place is small. They do take easily 20-30 minutes minimum to prepare order. Food options unique with variety and good quality. Menus should be offered or have them somewhere easily visible with prices.
Gluten free- they may refuse to make it if they are busy or just don’t want to. Happened to us which was a terrible experience, they only made it after we asked to speak with management. This alone is 0 star service.
Food tasted good quality and tasty for the regular no dietary restrictions. Gluten free was not tasty. They do skimp on custard. The drinks were rich with flavour. Some unique. Lactose free options and selection is excellent.
Service- workers are rude, unfriendly and sometimes have trouble understanding English. I don’t mind speaking slower but they should not be so obnoxious! Need to fix the wobbly tables, and they are quite small as well. Hire people who have better serving skills and can actually make the gluten free option even if it’s more work. Don’t offer it if your staff won’t make it!
I’ve been wanting to try this place for a very long time but finally got a chance too
It’s a really relaxed cafe. Lots of students just sitting down doing their work. You won’t get the ridgeway crowd here because I felt people came here for the quiet and calm.
It’ll be difficult to get a table on weekends but they have outdoor seating too so you can try your luck now that weather is getting better.
They don’t have full cream dairy option only gluten and dairy free products.
Which is why I think their latte didn’t agree with me.
I will maybe order something else next time. For me the coffee tasted like regular coffee, fair pricing so no issues there.
Will be returning if I ever want to find a quiet place to finish my book.
Friendly baristas.
Rashpinder was a lovely server and the burger was delicious. I'm gluten intolerant and this is one of the best GF buns I've had. She checked on us to make sure everything was good and we had no issues. Overall a lovely experience!
On Mondays they have a Two Can Dine deal which is awesome. My wife and I are gluten-free, so we can only eat gluten free burritos. The GF wraps they use here are actually great! Anyway, we wanted to do the two can dine deal, but apparently head office says the deal only applies to the superior race of humans who have the coveted ability to properly digest gluten. But the wonderful young lady pulled some strings and added the few dollars of difference (because getting a GF burrito is only like a dollar or two more), just so that we plebs can also benefit from the deal. We are so grateful! Nom nom.
Lovely tea selection. Gluten free menu and half price large appetizers from mon-fri I think. I cannot complain. The decor is lovely. We were there at lunch so it was quiet. Had a lovely time.
Will go back.
I am absolutely horrified by this place. BarBurrito used to be my favourite burrito spot. Recently I’ve had 2 terrible experiences at this location. A few months ago, I was disgusted when I pulled a Kalava bracelet (thin red string-like bracelet) out of my burrito with my teeth. Gagging, I returned to the store and gave it back to them asking for a refund. I was told that a refund would not be possible, and they offered to remake my burrito. I told them no because I was completely disgusted and requested some Oreo churros to bring home to my daughter instead. She told me that the equivalent of my burrito would equate to two individual churros.
Today, my boyfriend found a bone in his jerk chicken burrito (which tasted more like Indian spices than jerk). I notified the individual working there. He simply apologized and took the piece of bone. He said “that’s weird… there’s no bones in our chicken” and said he was sorry. No offer for replacement or refund. The bone was small, snapped in half and very sharp. It looked smaller than a chicken bone… mouse maybe? Absolutely disgusting.
I’ve returned to BarBurrito as they are one of the few burrito spots that offer gluten free options for me. Over the years, the quality of food and service has diminished drastically. My burrito was not properly wrapped tonight, and fell apart instantly, for which I was provided a bowl, fork and knife to finish eating. Followed by my boyfriend finding a bone in his burrito.
My family and I will NOT be back. EVER. So disappointing. Social media will be hearing bout this - location included.
Bring back Starbucks. Get rid of BarBurrito. Gross.
I had the gluten-free bun with my burger, which was actually a double burger, my first time here and it tasted amazingly good. It was cooked to perfection and all the condiments complimented the hamburger. Great job!
We had a great time at Turtle Jacks at Erin Mills. Our waitress Jackie was super sweet, friendly and very accommodating to my gluten allergy. Would happily return :)
Friendly employee was able to advise me on a gluten-free option. Food and ingredients were very fresh and flavourful! This location was very clean with a nice atmosphere. All together I had an excellent lunch experience and would like to come back! 5 stars.
Highly recommend this family owned restaurant. I went with my husband and 2 year old son. Immediately the gave an amazing impression as the owner came eith a big smile on his face and opened the door for us because I was carrying my kid. After greeting us in, the were entertaining my son and gave him a little chocolate. Their hospitality was so warm. They catered to bring a little food out early before our order was ready so my son could sit and eat (avoid him waiting) which they really didn't need to do!!! The consideration they had for us being a family wity a toddler was so sweet. Now for the good part, food was amazing. So flavourful, clean and delicious!!!! And portion was huge. We ordered #2 on the menu (gluten free meal for 2-3) + a falafel sandwich in saj bread and had plenty to take home with us! If you're reading this review what are you waiting for...go eat at shawarma plus...like now.
My first time at South N' Spicy. I enjoyed the spicy gluten free dosa (forgot the exact kind but they have may options) and idlis. Hope to visit again.

Went with a group of about 10 people including 3 little girls age 3-5. The food was delicious! I had the vegetarian sandwich which was awesome, as well as some half moon cheese. Fresh pressed strawberry juice was a huge hit with my daughter and they made me a cocktail that will now be one of my staples- vodka pomegranate with a salt rim- so tasty!! Service was great, we had some dietary restrictions that they handled very well. Hassan (our server) was knowledgeable about what was gluten free etc.
I will definitely return and recommend to my friends
