We visited Dishoom in mid-April. And the food was awesome - the most authentic Indian food I've had outside of India !
However, our experience was muted by an important communication challenge. I was dining with a guest who has sensitivity to gluten. Dishoom has a clearly-marked "allergen" menu, however nobody on the restaurant floor knew enough about the ingredients in any dish to be able to guide us. Not the hostess, not the server, not the manager. They explained that the allergen menu was developed by the chefs strictly analyzing each ingredient -- and if any ingredient contained any risk of any gluten cross-contamination, then the entire dish is flagged as "containing gluten". (e.g. - so many (maybe most?) of the dishes on the menu contain no glutenous ingredients, but if a single ingredient may have been processed in a plant that also processes wheat or barley or rye, then the entire dish is labeled as unsafe for diners with gluten sensitivities.) Nobody in the restaurant was able to provide any additional information about the ingredients in any dish to help us assess the risks. This aspect of our experience was quite frustrating - and made more challenging by the very noisy dining room, which made even basic communication difficult.
We nearly left without ordering food, but we eventually chose dishes based on the listed ingredients, and our own knowledge of the cuisine.
Again - the food was amazing ... but the frustration and anxiety caused by the inability of the restaurant to communicate allergen information left the most lasting impression.
Overall chaotic and overhyped. So we had a waiting time
for half an hour, but we were told 25 mins so that was fine. We had a look and the menu while waiting so we ordered right away. The waitress was very nice and asked about allergies. I have a gluten intolerance and they have digital menu for that, which was good but left very little choice. But that was alright. we’re two people, the first dish arrived after 25 minutes. Another 10 minutes later I got some rice but my dish was still not there, so I asked about it. They assured me it should come right out. After another few minutes the dish finally came but it was the wrong one (one that I cannot even eat because of gluten). So after waiting for 40 minutes, they brought the wrong dish… they then had to figure it all out and after another couple of minutes I got my food. The manager apologised and we did not have to pay, which is the only reason this is not a one star review.
All chaos set a side, mistakes can be made and there can be days where everything goes wrong.
Good: very nice staff, even got chai during the waiting time
Not good: the food is good but not better than any other Indian I have had. I also think the place is overhyped, it looks way cozier than it is on the pictures and it was pretty loud, because there fit more people than you would think from the pictures.
Also after my order I asked if rice is coming with the dish (as usually in Indian restaurants). Only then was I informed that there was no side dish at all, I was not even asked if I wanted a side upon ordering.
So overall not worth the hype in my opinion, regular Indian food in a nice but not overwhelming setting, but chaotic service. Not serving all dishes at the same time is an absolute no go in any restaurant.
Amazing meal at Mowgli. It was my first visit and I loved it.
We were a group of five - three adults and two children. The adults ordered the street food sharer for the three of us, and the kids each had a chicken butter curry and rice.
Now, the food was excellent, but the restaurant was understaffed and service was really bad. I appreciate that it was mother's day and very busy. Once seated, we waited about 15 minutes to be given menus, and we were asked what drinks we wanted which we ordered. Another 15 minutes went by, no drinks had arrived, but the waitress appeared to take our food order. She also repeated our drinks orders which was strange. I think this is where things went a little stray. We ordered the street food sharer for three and two more curries and two more rice for my nephews. When all the food arrived, there were four rice rather than five, two rotis rather than three. There was still plenty of food and we weren't sure if one of the kids meals hadn't been put through or one of the sharers.
Once we finished eating it was another 15 minutes for the table to be cleared and for ice creams to arrive (you get a scoop of salted caramel with the sharer meal).
Definitely book a table in advance. There is plenty of choice for vegans and gluten free. I like the individual portions and sharing options. I didn't take many photos as I was too keen to enjoy!!
Had a wonderful time at Fatt Pundit and offered the following:
-Guava Chilli Cocktail: Refreshing guava juice without much spice minus the salt rim
-Mango Szechuan Cocktail: Refreshing mango juice with a little spice from the szcechuan spirit but not too overwhelming
-Popcorn Cauliflower: Perfectly crisped with a delicious soya garlic sauce
-Kolkata Chilli Duck: Star of the show with very flavorful strips of duck
-Malabar Monkfish Curry: Similar to a Moilee curry and was a perfect blend of fish and light sauce; just as good as the duck!
-Burnt Ginger Rice: Recommended pairing to the Malabar Monkfish Curry
-Stir fry broccoli: Simple but still yummy broccoli dish
-Egg Szechuan Fried Rice: The only time we did not like; spicy but not very flavorful
Geet and Alex did a great job in taking our orders and making sure our gluten intolerance was taken into account. Really loved this restaurant and highly recommend anyone in London to walk-in or make a reservation ahead of time.

Fab vegetarian and vegan options. Gluten- free options clearly labelled in the menu (waiters seemed understanding about cross contamination for our Coeliac). Extra seating upstairs is excellent (if a bit hot)...
I’m normally a huge fan of Dishoom, having been countless times and enjoying the well thought out aesthetic, fantastic service and - most importantly - tasty food. However, I was incredibly disappointed last weekend when I took my niece for breakfast who has a severe gluten allergy only to be told the only item on the menu she could safely have was the fruit. We had called ahead to make sure a selection of dishes could be made gluten free, but when we arrived, our waitress told us the chef didn’t feel comfortable with amending any of the dishes because of cross contamination. Whilst I understand the caution from the chef and restaurant’s perspective, it seems confusing as to why they don’t offer a selection of 3-4 dishes that can be cooked separately and would safely offer a gluten free option. In this day and age, taking into account how accessible information regarding allergies is and how easy it is to cater for them when everyone is equipped with the correct knowledge - I was really surprised at how out of touch Dishoom appeared. Whilst not blaming the waiting team, who were apologetic and offered us a free round of drinks before leaving without eating - I really think Dishoom should take a look at their gluten free and allergy offering to not exclude those with severe allergies.

Probably the best Indian restaurant I have been to. Really authentic, refined and delicious food. Amazing service too. The staff created a dairy free and gluten free curry for my mum. They were the nicest people. And the decor is stunning. Would highly recommend.

A place with cool atmosphere and average food. Sadly, a very strange and rude attitude serving people with intolerances or allergies. I have a dairy and gluten intolerance. The servers told me to check a confusing online allergen menu myself with no guidance rather than answer any question about the menu. Then, we ordered the nachos with yogurt on the side, not an abnormal request. A manager literally came to us to tell us having the yogurt on the side would inherently alter the dish and they couldn't do it. I worked in hospitality for 6+ years and this is absolutely crazy. We were blown away by the arrogance of this, which seems to be decision from the chef, not the FOH. It's not haute cuisine, it's fusion nachos at a chain restaurant. Just put the yogurt on the side. Overall, food is acceptable, nothing remarkable, and the atmosphere is cool - but you would get better allergen service even at the worst of chain pubs. Would not come back.
Amazing restaurant with so many options of vegetarian and gluten free food. That’s on top of the incredible meat dishes. And Naman topped it off with his amazing service. Will definitely be coming back
We had a wonderful experience! Our waiter, Fuhad, was very kind and helpful — he guided us in choosing gluten-free and lactose-free dishes that respected our allergies. The place is lovely and welcoming, and the food was absolutely delicious. Five stars, highly recommended!

Fantastic evening, food and service, Novin our server was lovely and very attentive, good gluten free options as well
Can’t say enough about the food and service here! The staff was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating for my gluten allergy, and the food was delicious. We also loved the atmosphere!
The King's Arms at Hanwell Broadway is a great neighborhood pub. It offers delicious wood fired pizzas with vegetarian and gluten free options and a broad selection of drinks. There are craft beers and a wide range of gins on offer on top of the usual pub drinks.
They also offer discounts, £7 pizza Monday to Wednesday and other discounts for NHS staff, key workers etc
The staff are always knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly with quiz nights, live music nights and sports tv channels. There is also a good sized garden at the rear.
I would definitely recommend a visit to the Kings Arms in Hanwell.
All the good reviews are not wrong.
Great food, roughly 1/3 of the menu was vegan, and some gluten free, but not only. The bread and the dosa were just so delicious with the crunchy veg and spicy sauces.
Great value as we spent just over £40 for two (without drinks, we just had water).
I'll definitely be back and south Indian cuisine is becoming my new favourite!
Very friendly service, giving us tips on the dishes and they were extra careful with the gluten free and had excellent knowledge on what was coeliac-friendly and what not! The food was lovely and arrived quickly and we had a wonderful time! 😊
Went last night and it was absolutely wonderful! The food and cocktails were fantastic but what stood out to me was the care they gave to my intolerance. I’m gluten intolerant so it can be quite hard to go out to eat and it can feel embarrassing having the huuuuge allergen folder dumped at your table for you to flick through! Our server instead labelled my menu with all the items containing gluten and the ones that could be made gluten free to order. They said they’re working on a qr code but for now this is how they label allergens. I thought it was wonderful and will definitely be coming back!
I found this restaurant online as I was looking for genuinely gluten-free dosa i.e. free from cross-contamination. I called them in advance and when I arrived, the gentleman I spoke to on the phone came out from the kitchen to reassure me everything would be gluten-free. The masala dosa was lovely and you could tell everything was cooked fresh i.e. not just the dosa itself but the potato and the sambar. Service was great too.
I grew up eating Indian food, this was some of the best (maybe the best) I've ever had. We popped into Zaika because it was across from Kensington Palace, we got there 20 minutes before they closed to prep for dinner. Everything we had was absolutely fantastic and they had gluten free roti that was sublime.
Loveeeee this place the food is amazing, the staff is so kind and the vibe is PINK and cozy and love it love it!!! Go and bring your friends!! Vegetarian restaurant with vegan and gluten free options ❤️💚
Honestly the best Indian I’ve ever eaten, such an incredible restaurant from the tasty dishes to the amazing decor, the whole experience was devine. We were served by Stanley and the owner, Sahil and it was fantastic. Can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu! I’m also gluten free and they were so helpful that I had more options than I could dream of!! If you want your tastebuds to burst from flavour, head here asap!
We spent an excellent evening in this warm restaurant with its subdued lights. This is not the first time we have come and we are always captivated by the flavor of the dishes. The menu clearly lists allergens and there are several vegetarian/vegan and gluten-free options. The staff is attentive and we are always served quickly. Flawless and an address to which we return each time we visit London.
Such a great spot for South Indian food! You’ll discover Indian dishes you didn’t know existed, not just your standard curry menu. Overwhelming number of choices for veg/vegan and they even cater to onion/garlic/gluten free. Great for sharing and discovering new tasty dishes. Lovely service too. Basic decor but very clean and authentic.
We ate here a few weeks ago as we were on our way to checking in to a nearby hotel. Before we even got to the restaurant itself the hotel it’s in asked if we wanted them to store our bags for us while we ate. That was such a relief to begin with because we were concerned about cluttering the nice looking restaurant with our bags.
The serving staff were friendly and polite and really helpful in accommodating for my partner being gluten-free. Then the food itself was delicious! I’d 100% go here again.
Strongly recommend.

Really delicious vegan food. The Tofu Tikka Masala was absolutely outstanding. Lots of dishes are also gluten free or can be made gluten free. Lovely setting and very friendly staff. Highly recommend to vegans and non-vegans.
Had a delicious meal with friends at Timur, the service was great. I am allergic to wheat and they were able to cater for this across most of the menu items - the onion bhajis in particular are delicious and gluten free. A lovely local restaurant that I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
Super delicious and authentic Indian food! Chicken tikka and paneer was tender and well made!! On top of that, the chef specifically customised chilli chicken to cater for my gluten free husband who hasn’t had this dish in years!! We will be frequenting this spot :)

Really lovely staff and welcoming. The food was incredible and I felt comfortable talking about my gluten allergy with them. They told me 95% of items were gluten free (including all the curries). I would recommend you to go. Indu was a great server.

Had a great experience with Bikash!! Great cocktails and great food. Very gluten free friendly
We came here for my partner’s birthday. We tried each of the main curry (dahl, cauliflower, egg and potato and curry special with pol roti and muttonless roll on the side). All were absolutely delicious and so flavourful. Absolutely lovely manager - we were informed that we only had the table for a little over an hour but we needed to stay longer for a surprise I had planned for my partner. The manager was wonderful about this and very attentive when taking our orders.
Only negative - we started the meal with some chai lattes. My partner’s mother is coeliac so we double checked the oat milk was GF. Heard the manager say it was GF but not for coeliacs, the waitress then came back and said yup, my partner’s mum could drink as was GF (missing the crucial “not for coeliacs” comment), which we then double double checked - not great, but obviously only one experience! She was a bit grumpy about being asked at all hence us making a note of it but coeliac is coeliac and we needed to clarify.
Would definitely come back though, lovely restaurant.

went here with a friend! service was super quick and the food was delicious!!! i’m vegetarian and have celiacs disease but there was still a wide range of options on the menu, so great for those with dietary restrictions :)
It was really a fantastic experience. I recommend taking the set menu, which was my case for the second time I went, and that was the way to do it. Excellent flavours, a separate gluten-free menu with lots of options.
A great big thanks to Trishna’s wonderful staff, including Manesh, for making us feel so welcome celebrating my wife’s birthday, whilst we were visiting from The States. I’m gluten sensitive and both my wife and I were able to order our favorite foods off of the restaurant’s respective tasting menus. Gorgeous dishes prepared with such care and delicate spices. Best Negroni I’ve ever tasted. Can’t wait to return!

Excellent meal and reasonably priced for the area. In addition, my wife is extremely gluten-sensitive so finding restaurants can be difficult, but Indian Gourmet were very aware in that regard. Highly recommend overall.
Lovely food, incredible flavours and gluten free, the staff were wonderful giving my 70 year old sister a lovely evening to remember on her birthday! For a party of 4 siblings
