This was one of my absolute favorite places to dine during my trip to Chicago. I am very content and feel truly fortunate that I stumbled upon them.
The location is really fantastic in what appears to be a recovered church that sits upon a lake. The building and its location provide a really fun and light atmosphere that pairs perfectly with the Mediterranean style cousine that they provide.
They are very knowledgeable of food allergies and do a fantastic job of not only navigating them but also providing many options, which are free of allergens which ail you.
My buddy and I tore through the menu and ordered many samplings of numerous dishes that were offered. From the breakfast menu to the dinner menu and all the way to the dessert menu. We could not find a bad dish.
The experience was great, and the food was fantastic; if you are afforded the opportunity, I would highly recommend dining here.
Allergy friendly options such as gluten-free are available.
Quintessential mom and Pop American diner. Staff was super friendly very helpful. Ambience was great reminiscing of the old days. Music was awesome. We went for the gluten-free pancakes, which were excellent.
We order from here all the time and the food is always 10/10. Pizza is amazing, so is everything else I’ve ordered from the menu. The gluten free options are amazing as well!!
Definitely recommend.
Love Greek/Mediterranean food? A must go to! Extensive menu features Greek favorites with American staples. Lamb dishes are perfectly cooked - our chops were extremely flavorful. 2 homemade soups daily. We sampled the egg lemon which was killer. My Lavrocki was beautifully seasoned and came with 2 huge fillets. Greek Oven Roasted potatoes come with a lemony butter sauce and were delicious. Portions are HUGE - you will have enough for another meal . Owner is celiac and the menu is tagged with items that are gluten free. Many vegetarian options. Ample parking lot with handicapped friendly entrance and interior. The only negative is that the noise level can be loud. Tip - go early - it gets crowded!! Reservations accepted only for parties of 6 or more.
So happy that this place opened up in Des Plaines. The pizzas are amazing, with really anwesome Indian flavors (maybe a bit spicy for those not accustomed to heat on pizza). I’m especially impressed at the GF precautions that they take as our son has celiac disease, so anyone with gluten issues, may be rest assured. Also a plus is that their chicken on the pizza, and I’m told the pepperoni as well is Halal. The customer service is fantastic, with friendly pleasant smiles, and very prompt. Also, even though it’s in a liquor store, the pizza area offers decent amount of seating, with a bar area and TV, and kept very clean. We went on Friday after on 7/26, and ordered a number of pizzas (you also get a few small cheese if you order two other small pizzas). Thanks much!
This place has some of the best Korean BBQ ever! It was the first Korean dinner place I had ever been to and everything was immaculate from the food to the service! They even accommodated my mom who is gluten free. Our waiter was extremely kind and funny and the rest of the staff was so sweet and encouraging when I tried to speak my limited Korean. I had never tried speaking Korean to actual Koreans before so it was an amazing first experience! The owner even gave me a Korean yogurt drink called Yakool because he was so impressed! This all happened about a year ago so my review is a tad bit late, but it is totally worth mentioning. This place has the best food ever. I only wish they had kimbap! But it makes sense that they don't because it takes a whole bunch of preparation to make. I live about an hour away so I haven't been back in a year but I plan on going tonight!
The women at the counter of this establishment are super kind and always offer a smile. The pizza is delicious, with great flavor. My brother cannot have gluten, and whenever we order Mug's gluten-free pizza, it is cooked to crispy perfection, which he states is very rare. On my last visit, I decided to try the ribs since it’s in the name, and I was absolutely delighted. The meat had a great charred flavor, the sauce was delicious with a deep sweet tangy taste, and there was a generous amount of meat on the bone. This is a great place to pick up from on game day or when having friends over and wanting some delicious options. The pick-up time is also excellent, with the food always hot and ready. I will definitely be coming back soon.
I personally like this longhorn the most in the area. Not just because I think the food tastes better at this one but the staff is also so nice here. I order food to go every so often and they are just the nicest while you are waiting.
The parmesan encrusted chicken is very tasty and naturally gluten free.
