My mom and I stopped in for some coffee and baked goods. We were pleasantly surprised at how good the Gluten Free Carrot Cake! Staff was very helpful and quick!
The dessert was great (even though it’s not cheese) it was truly was very similar that you can barely tell! It was also all gluten free which made it a big plus for me. Also the coffee was really good!
I only rated the atmosphere a 4 star because the paint and lighting made the place look like a hospital. Could use some more cozy tones!
This restaurant is one of my go-tos that will satisfy vegans, omnivores, halal, gluten free, etc. Everyone who eats here loves it. A few dietary highlights:
-I'm vegan and they have several great tofu options (my favorite is Yaki Udon with 2x Tofu) as well as unique vegan rolls that aren't just a cucumber avocado roll
-Their chicken teriyaki is Halal
-They use Tamari (gluten free soy sauce)
The staff is very accommodating and friendly and I enjoy both dining in and picking up.
I am a huge fan of 220 Merrill. The atmosphere is light and fun. The staff is amazing. Great cocktails and really good food. The only reason I only have this place 4 stars is because the amount of options on the menu are limited for a person with celiac. However, that won’t stop me from returning.
This place feels confused on what it is. It’s Asian restaurant that plays house music and serves kid sized 2 bite dishes for $16-and no it’s not because it’s gourmet-I’m talking a 2”x3” fried block of rice with 2 pieces of avocado on it. The lobster tacos were the size of those frozen mini tacos and reminded us of the flavored tuna packs with crackers. It’s just a very odd dining experience and the food felt just as confusing. The service was good-they helped with gluten and dairy restrictions. Definitely wouldn’t recommend this place or go here again.

Where have they been all my life ;) !!
These subs are DELICIOUS!! Even more incredible ? Their gluten free sub buns are off the charts!! We ordered 3 subs for 2 people for dinner. But we kept our leftovers for lunch the next day!! Worth every penny of it.
This is our new favorite!!! Thanks to Jersey Mike’s !!
The choices were #9 x2 & #17
FANTASTIC !!!
My father and I decided to go here for lunch the Thursday before the Fourth of July to celebrate the upcoming holiday. We just wanted to get a burger and a drink. We went to the bar and experience the worst bartender I have ever truly experienced in my entire life from the very beginning, he was rude. It wasn’t busy he was just flirting with one of the waitress the whole time. Finally he comes to take our order and doesn’t even let my dad finish before he walks away not writing anything down. When he comes by again my dad asks for a gluten free bun as he has celiac and can’t have fries so to sub with coleslaw. Burgers were sitting at the window for 5-10 minutes getting cold before finally they got done flirting and took it to the wrong table then sure enough it wasn’t the right order…MY DAD HAS AN ALLERGY!!! We brought it up to be told we were wrong and never said that. We immediately left. Saw the bartender trying to run to us in the parking lot after getting aggressive too. Really lovely staff you got. WORST SERVICE IVE EVER EXPERIENCED. I will never come back and avidly tell my friends and family not to support this business. Thank you. Happy 4th!
Been three times. Already plotting my return. Delicious. Nutritious.
Fresh. Satisfying. Accommodating of gluten-free and other diets. Unique bottled juice blends, variety of smoothies, succulent wraps. A nicely edited selection of single-serving Michigan-centric snacks, many with a decent amount of protein. I find prices more than fair. Eat in or take out. Clean and pleasant, fast and friendly. Easy parking (yea!). The 4th driveway on the left going east on Cole Street from Eton. Turn in and look for it on your right about two thirds of the way down.
We really enjoyed our date night at Hazel’s. It’s a very nice place but doesn’t feel overly formal - which we liked. There were many gluten free options (buns, lobster bisque, etc.) and both the lobster roll/salmon BLT were great entrees. Drinks were also tasty & balanced!
Love love love this modern bistro in Birmingham. They greet everyone with such warmth and hospitality that it is my #1 choice for visiting guests. The food is creative and simple at the same time. I was with someone who is gluten-free last night and they creatively changed a pasta dish so she could enjoy the yummy lamb ragu. Great wine list, by the glass and bottle. Mario is a wonderful host/owner and Onella makes you feel like you were invited to someones home.
If you’re looking for authentic Mexican near Birmingham, this place is the best! We tried the chorizo, pastor, campechano, and asada tacos. They are normally served on corn tortillas (yay gluten free!) but had flour for +0.50 more. We dined in and enjoyed sitting by the open window, but many people were picking up take out orders. Would definitely go back!
I have Celiac and have trouble eating out. I asked our waitress if they would be able to accommodate me. Glen, the restaurant GM, came out to talk to me, personally checked on ingredients and went above and beyond to make sure that I had a fantastic meal. The service and food were both wonderful, my husband and I had a great time and are so appreciative.
