Pros:
Service was excellent. Our server was kind and responsive. The views really are gorgeous and it’s a great time of year to be outside. The GF options are clearly defined.
Food:
I got the grilled fish tacos. This is NOT a place I would go with celiac. Although our sever was truly amazing and willing to figure out anything, there was no mention that the fries had gluten.
The food was a solid three stars for me. The ingredients are fresh and the fish and burger were cooked well. But everything was a bit lacking. The green beans tasted frozen to me. They very well just could have been steamed, but they tasted bland to me. (And I really like green beans.) I wished the corn tortillas were heated. They were straight out of the bag, and the fish was cold. That being said, I took my extra one home because the Tuna was super solid and well seasoned.
The ceviche was Tex-mex? I’m not sure what was going on. It was more of a saucy salsa style rather than a cut up, pico type, of salsa. Again, the fish was fresh. I loved the shrimp in it but overall me and my husband were disappointed with it.
For highly sensitive people, it’s very loud. But it’s a very popular local spot on the beach so that is to be expected. I was glad I brought my sunglasses as it’s open to the outside.
If you’re looking for great views, solid food, and a casual eat out, this is a decent option. I don’t know what else Corpus has to offer but people seem to love it. Our Airbnb even recommended it.
I would wager a bet that their fried fish options are super solid. I just couldn’t partake with my gluten allergy. But given how well my fish was cooked, and the other reviews, I’d go for those meals.
