Fort Mackinac Tea Room Restaurant

The Tea Room at Fort Mackinac is an absolute treasure. While they don't specifically advertise gluten-free options, I had the baby salad with added chicken and, as someone with celiac, had no issues. The portions were generous, and my kid loved the grilled cheese. However, the real highlight is the stunning view overlooking the island and water—it's simply breathtaking. The service was quick and friendly, making our visit a memorable one. A must-see spot when you're at Fort Mackinac!

As an Individual with celiac’s disease and is also allergic to beef and chicken, I always appreciate when restaurant’s accommodate my difficult diet. The Tea Room has gluten free bread and made any sandwhich gluten free for me! I had the sandwhich and soup of the day (ham and Swiss, both gf) and it was SO good!! And that really says something because gf bread is usually NOT good. My waiter was very educated on what I could and could not have as somebody with celiac’s disease, and I appreciated that because most people don’t even know what gluten is when I say I’m gluten free. I didn’t choose this diet or lifestyle, and it can be very stressful to go on vacation. I really appreciate when restaurants are educated and include food on their menu’s for people like me.
