Made reservations, came on time and was told if we wanted a table we had an hour to eat or we could sit at the bar. What’s the point of reservations if you are not going to honor them? I saw another review complain about something similar. Hostess should be retrained on table seating with reservations. We decided to do the table and just get out as quickly as possible. Our server, never got his name, was excellent. Attentive and friendly. I can’t have gluten so the only thing I could have was oysters (which we did order and they were good), and an Asian rice noodle salad that has no meat. Up charge on the meat was $6 for 3 pieces of bacon essentially. The rice noodles were poorly made, they were all about an inch long. I was hoping to get the seafood boil weekend special but they no longer had it, and didn’t have anything to replace it. My significant other had the prime rib po boy and the best thing about it was the sauce that came with it according to him. So good 2/10 IMO. Server was the redeeming quality of this place. It’s got a long way to go before we’d ever consider going back. Their frozen drinks are good though, and the environment is fine.

We went when they first opened, expecting there to be some wrinkles in service and food quality. The service actually was fine, with multiple people checking on us, even though things were hectic. If it were an established restaurant with months of experience I would probably rate the service as four stars, but for the newly opened environment, they exceeded my expectations. So did the food, and so if they did a good job when in the frenzy of just opening, I know as they smooth out they'll be able to keep up the quality. I had the Banh Mi salad with shrimp added, and others at my table had the gumbo, prime rib debris po'boy, and shrimp po'boy. I enjoyed that they knew enough about the Vietnamese influence in French Cajun food to include it in the menu. I like that even at a Cajun place full of fried food there were gluten free options for me. Everything was fresh. The drinks were amazing. I had the non-alcoholic banana creme, and it was as decadent as any dessert I've had. My table mates had the sampler and then 3-4 of the full size drinks. One of my favorite things is how they repurposed an old gas service station. The section where you used to pull your car in for oil changes is still called "garage" and is a dining room. There's an outside patio under the gas pump overhang. Where the gas station register was is the host stand, with a row of hooks to hang rags like mechanics would use. It's definitely not like the generic "every new place looks the same" vibe we get a lot in Austin.
