I really enjoy coffee, and normally have my trusty French press by my side. So of course I stopped in Gray Owl Coffee while in Norman in hopes of discovering a hidden coffee-lover's jewel. I ordered a large (unflavored) latte and was very happy with the taste and quality. The espresso had a nice roasty flavor and the foam on top was wonderfully creamy, complete with lovely latte art. From what I could tell, they use Topeca beans, an Oklahoma roaster. I asked the barista what their most popular pastry was, and he said the scones. So to complete my latte experience I ordered a raspberry scone, which was handmade and delicious! They also had blackberry and apple butter scones, as well as several other pastry options. Their baked goods are handmade from "mostly organic ingredients," according to their chalkboard sign. The bakery selection also included some gluten free options.
