We absolutely love Burger Me! Our son has severe allergies to wheat and egg, along with a few others, and it means so much to us that this place offers wheat-free and gluten-free buns. He loves the food they prepare for him, and we truly appreciate their outstanding customer service. The staff is always kind, patient, and ready to answer all our questions — we’ve never felt rushed here.
What’s even better is how family-friendly this burger joint is — they even have a baby changing area, which many restaurants overlook. As for the adult menu, everything we’ve tried has been fantastic! I personally love the gyro burger and the garlic sweet potato fries — absolutely delicious.
Whenever we’re in the area, Burger Me will always be a must-stop for us. They genuinely care about their customers, and it shows. Highly recommend!
Absolutely tasty and delicious place. The grilled cheese and tomato soup is my personal fave. They offer tons of gluten-free options. The lavender latte is my personal fave as well there.
Excellent service, surprisingly great salad (house salad for the win) and pizza. The cauliflower crust gluten free pizza was one of the best I have had in a year or so. Worth the visit!
Busy, but fantastic treat for our Celiac kids, rare to have a restaurant with a gluten free fryer so the kids can have fantastic French fries. It was all delicious
I absolutely adore this place. It’s always incredibly busy, which, in my opinion, is a great sign. I love their fried pickles—they’re absolutely delicious! Their menu is fantastic. You can’t go wrong with a pizza here. They’re very celiac-friendly, and when you inform them of that they don’t do cross-contamination, they have two types of gluten-free crust too. The service is always excellent, whether you’re dining in or picking up, despite how busy they are!
GF options, super quality sushi and bevs. Pricey, but service is quick and one of few sushi restaurants where I haven't been dosed w gluten. From the foodie hubs "best scallop of my life." Hamachi kama - stellar; & off menu. You can go straight from slope or trail and still get top service as you are. Sit at the bar and witness the hustle in action.
The food was great but I have to give only 3 stars due to what felt like deceptive menu practices: In particular, their online menu still shows a bunch of explicitly "GF" (Gluten Free) items (see attached photo), but at some recent time, they changed their practice so all food is now cooked on the same grill as flour tortillas, so they cannot guarantee no cross contamination/contact. Our server basically said that the only items they could guarantee were GF were the chips (which are fried in a separate fryer) and guacamole. After a bit of back & forth with the kitchen, we eventually determined that one of the salads was safe, but it was disappointing to go to a restaurant more or less *because* they advertised many GF items, only to find that there was almost nothing for our gluten-sensitive dining companion to eat.
Second, the kids menu does not have prices next to the beverages (see photo), so we assumed that they were included in the meal. When we re-examined our receipt upon getting home, we realized that we had been charged $9 each, the same price as an adult beverage. This isn't quite as deceptive as the online menu advertising something that isn't in the restaurant, but we did feel somewhat misled.
Another menu-related note: you might see photos of menus showing a $1 charge for chip refills, but they now charge $8 for a second bowl of chips. (...also this was the one piece of slow service we received: despite ordering that second bowl when the first one came, we had to ask about it a few times and it didn't arrive until most folks were done with their entrees)
If you can eat gluten (and you are OK paying for things like extra chips and children's beverages), this is a great place though: casual atmosphere, lots of indoor & outdoor seating (no reservations but that wasn't a problem), delicious food (we especially liked the wet burritos and chips/guac), and fast/friendly service (apart from the snafu with the 2nd bowl of chips).
I hope this restaurant cleans up its menus (online & offline) to be more accurate.
The Red Truck is a little restaurant in the Truckee airport terminal. The food is great, the menu reasonably large, the people are fantastic and knowledgeable and helpful with Gluten issues. Great for pilots and passengers to grab a quick bite to go, eat in, or eat out on the patio. A little hidden gem.
Best beer list in Truckee! Being gluten free, I STOKED they had a delicious rice lager! The meat and cheese place was LOADED! The 1 star reviews are hilarious! They’ve been open for 2 weeks, give them a chance. This isn’t the Bay Area, Be kind.
I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Not only was the service horrible, but they are NOT accommodating about allergies. I ordered the crab grilled cheese with gluten free bread and my friend ordered one with normal bread. When they brought out the food (which came out with the wrong side) we both started eating. After 4-5 bites I noticed the bread was REALLY good for gluten free bread. After comparing it to my friends normal bread, we realized I was NOT provided with the gluten free bread. I have celiac disease so this is very damaging to my digestive track. What's horrible is I might not have thought to check if my friend hadn't ordered the same thing, as I wouldn't have had something to compare it to. I waited 15min to tell the waitress but she did not come to check on us. I ended up going inside and politely letting her know, then proceeded to the bathroom to try to make myself throw up in order to get as much out of my system as I could. While I was in the bathroom, a regular GF one was brought out (with a different, still incorrect, side). None of the staff provided any apologies or offered anything to make up for the mistake. I'm so disappointed and now I'll be stuck in the room for my entire vacation day due to stomach problems. Telling all my friends and family to steer clear of this restaurant, so very disappointed
Great little local gem in glenshire! Easily the best gluten free pizza in town. Good tap list and friendly employees. Grateful for a great neighborhood spot.
I love this restaurant and, being Celiac, would love it even more if they could boil their gf noodles in a separate pot of water—otherwise, what's the point?
Our first visit to DCDS was great.
My husband ordered the Pray for Snow Peppermint Latte (seasonal) and I ordered a decaf latte with Laird’s superfood MCT. We both really enjoyed our beverages!
The service was also great: friendly, professional and quick! One of the baristas helped me customize my drink based on what I wanted, which was really cool 😊
I enjoyed the experience so much, we stopped by for a second visit before leaving town to get snacks for the road: a chocolate protein smoothie and a gluten-free chocolate chip banana muffin. They were so delish 😋
If we are in the area, we would love to visit again! ❤️
